  • Are these good?

    • We think they are as the parent distributor we have sold tens of thousands in Australia and tens of millions have been sold in North America, you can see hundreds of thousands of verified reviews on that main ecomms website

reviewers/comparisons that do a lot of jbl soundcore bose etc never mention this brand so its likely a lower quality speaker. On youtube I feel like most reviews I could find are probably not genuine.
Would be interested to hear from anyone who actually has the speaker as its very cheap.

    • I am very reluctant to recommend reviews, I am not able to say to what degree any review is truly independent. Oontz is huge in the US, that i can say and i can't argue with the hundreds of thousands of verified reviews they have received on Americas number 1 ecommerce platform. Where JBL marketing, packaging and branding has been cultivated more towards big box retail like JBHIFi, oontz was designed from day one to be sold via ecommerce platforms, its packagaing design and pricing structure was purely for that. Amazon for only really took off in Aus during Covid and it had been huge in the US for at least ten years before that. This is my take anyway.

Wow. I just bought and received one. It looks good in an old school bt speaker style and is solidly made. Love the little vibration absorbing pads on the base.
I thought I woiuld grab another one but after listening more it lacks any bass at all especially for a 12w bt speaker. Its suffers distortion from about 50% volume.
Its fine for this deal price but dont have high expectations on sound quality.

That's a great name for a speaker. Oontz oontz oontz oontz oontz oontz oontz oontz.

    • I think so also. When i first heard it, thats what i did walking around the office.

Thsee are popular in the US. Cambridge is a well known brand back from the 90's. My first PC (Compaq now HP) had these speakers with a subwoofer. I've had 2 (Angle and Angle 3). My ex kept 1 and I still have the other; 10 years and still going. I ended buying the JBL Charge 5 because the Oontz Ultra could only be purchased via Amazon US and the cost was the same as the JBL. Sound quality is good. Lots of reviews on YouTube and Amazon US

    • Yes, as a brand, Oontz was specifically originally desgined to do well within the Amazon eco system, amazon wasnt reaaly big in Oz until Covid.

  • As far as I can tell this is the product on rtings

  • Factoring in price i think these are unbeatable at these coupon prices. At this price you would compare with the JBL go, for which the ultra is far superior and even the original angle 3 is much much better.

Yes as a guide, the range goes:

    Solo (small highly portable)
Angle 3 (the original 180kplus reviews on amazon)
Angle 3 Ultra (beefed up angle 3, pariable)
    Pro (top line, pariable)
Clip (sort of between the ultra and 3 but a more lifestyle speaker designed around the clip)

  • Not sure if anyone else had this issue but the Oontz speaker didn't seem to let me pair my phone with it until I downloaded the app.

    • What phone do you have? I don't need to use the app with my s25. Was it on the Ultra or the Pro?
