    Bring back the $40 ones

  • Does this panel have the four VESA mount holes at the back?

If you buy it, could you please reply here to let us know.

Dont know about this one. I have the MagicRaven and it has VESA holes.

      • Thank you. The MagicRaven panel looks stunning.

i almost willing to bet, this one has vesa but hey just buy first and return if not happy

Just speculating but I don't believe this will have VESA holes, otherwise its one of the things the listings will typically advertise.

    • No VESA holes unfortunately.

    • Not expected at this price but good to know

I only added that because the OP failed to mention it was 60hz monitor.

The deal has it in the description. Just not the title.

  • Do these need a power source? Or is it enough to draw power just from my laptop?

    • +5

no power source needed. just be aware that it is not energy efficient, it can drain your brand new surface laptop battery within 2 hours from 100% to 0%. but when the laptop is connected to power, this is not an issue.

        Good to know.

I'm looking for a smaller touchscreen to use with a raspberry pi as a dashboard at home (home assistant). Will be plugged into power, but it's energy usage is something I should consider/compare.

        • +1

          this unit's not a touchscreen

Can you use it as a third monitor or do you need a third video card ?

    • This depends entirely on the device you are connecting it to. It's highly unlikely you need a dedicated video card for this at all.

      • I have a PC with two classic monitors. Would this unit be able to display a third different window ?

Got mine delivered and had a quick use, screen is 'ok'. Sideways viewing is good, but the vertical view angle is a bit limiting until the colours go all funny. You need to have the angle just right to have good colour reproduction.

Just opened mine up and had a bit of a play as well, I was wondering if I had maybe received a faulty one, vertical viewing angles are insanely poor. Even when I find its happiest middle ground it seems like a portion of the screen is either under exposed or over exposed. I used my phone as a makeshift level and it seems like there’s about 2° of wiggle room where it looks usable (still not great). I wasn’t expecting OLED-levels of viewing angles but I think even for $80 it’s bad enough that I’ll return it.
It’s a bit of a shame because other than the terrible vertical viewing angles it seems like a decent product.
I feel like it would’ve made more sense to use panels that were orientated 90° around so that the vertical had more play than the horizontal, much easier to adjust for that.

Anyway, I’m curious to see what others think of theirs

Yeah Im thinking of returning it as well. Even though it has 1000+ reviews I doubt much of them are real since using this monitor. Even reading text on a webpage feels 'funny' with the small vertical viewing angle.
