damn is this is what’s considered cheap now

    • what's it cost, no price in title lmao

      /s

    • +1

Half the price of what DDR5 6000 CL36 is selling for at most other places now $699

      https://www.centrecom.com.au/gskill-trident-z5-neo-rgb-32gb-…

In 2026 prices are set to double again. $2000AUD for 64GB of DDR5 and my guess is $1000AUD for 2TB nvme drives

Micron, Samsung and SK Hynix are reducing the consumer side allocation for what they currently make and moving it all to AI data center's… leaving even less for the consumer market… its going to get a hell of allot worse with NO government holding them accountable… Even the Samsung SSD division cant acquire any ram from itself to make memory modules.. it was TOLD NO by Samsung fabrication.

Samsung and SK Hynix have said they will run their fabs at max but all that extra production is also going to Datacenters.

    • +1

i'm expecting shortage for at least 6 months. christmas + black friday wiped everything from the shelves. what's left are worthless 8gb modules at crazy prices.

if you're building any pc probably best to grab something that can tide you over like 16gb and wait it out.

  • +1

This was also posted last week, but was out of stock.

  • +5

Umart have it on their own store for $249, but says OOS, so you may not be able to buy it through BigW either.

    https://staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=PVV532G600C36K…

  • +1

I think it's OOS, if you put in your postcode (for me WA) it shows "add to wishlist" instead of "add to cart"

  • +8

    It'll get cancelled.

    • Yeah, my order got cancelled.

  • +5

The 3 memory makers are leaving the world with no memory all for greed… THEY have said they are ramping up production to fix this issue but not building new fabs.. All the extra production is going to data Centers.. ZERO of it is going to the consumer market. the PC ram makers are going to go out of business with no stock to sell soon.. The industry cant survive they are going to kill off these companies all for short term gains

    • So pleasing the shareholders for the quest for ever increasing quarterly earnings.

You know earning a billion dollar profit every year is a good year. No need to go and satisfy the earnings cycle by increasing that by 10%.

      • +2

Without government intervention many AIB's are going to go out of business. NO RAM, NO Storage = no motherboard, PSU and CASE sales. Without chips to put onto their boards they will just need to close their business.
The product that are currently on the market are existing stock that has almost all been sold.

        • +1

Tbh, the only vendor that is seemingly going to survive this is lenovo as they've stored or preordered enough inventory until the end of 26. But yea, everyone else at this stage is likely to go die.

    • Greed, sure, but if someone came to you and said "I'll take 100% of your production capacity and I'll pay you twice what anyone else will" would you say no?

The problem isn't the memory manufacturers, it's this hype bubble we're in. It can't burst soon enough.

  • +1

add to wishlist! i can't believe what some of the high end ram is selling for now, capitalism is out of control!

  • The tforce 6000 CL30 2x16gb is for $285 from Amazon. I think that one is better than this one.

    • Unobtainable, after adding it to cart says unavailable quantity.

  • +11

Looking forward to the AI bubble bursting. For equipment prices but also because I just saw a dumb video on fb generated by AI showing a plane crashing because the pilots were busy eating corn on the cob in the cockpit.

  • +13

Found this one. Probably will get cancelled? https://www.mwave.com.au/product/corsair-vengeance-32gb-2x-1…

    • +2

      thanks purchased, fingers crossed!

      • +1

Same but i have a feeling its going to be canceled dor sure as its listed "at suppler"

        • +2

let's hope for a christmas miracle lol

          • +1

            @BargainHunterD: 9/12/2025 12:12:26 AM $183.63 Cancelled

Just logged in to check.. oh well.. waiting on refund now

            • @vid_ghost: Ahh yeah - mine says Cancelled now as well. too good to be true haha

    • Thanks. Purchased. Will call them in the am to check. I opted for Bank Transfer to avoid cancellation silliness.

      • +1

You can use Afterpay as option… it won't get charged straight away…

      • +2

Let us know what they say if you speak to them. I've ordered as well just to see what will happen lol

      • +1

        how did you go?

        • +3

Cancelled I was the first person to order yesterday

          • +3

@vid_ghost: mine Cancelled .. not even a cancellation email …sneaky

            • +2

@zerog101: Same here, order status is cancelled and i didn't get any email (maybe not yet anyways?)

              • +1

@Sum1: Same thing with me. I ordered around 1.5 hours after zo2 commented the deal but got refunded just now.

          • +2

@vid_ghost: yep mine to no explanation just refund, left them a nice google review,

      • They have no stock. So cancelled.

    • Thank you! Fingers crossed

    • Legend

    • Ordered with zero expectation of it being processed but let’s see.

      • +3

        Cancelled without an email

        • +1

yep love how they don't give any explanation just refund and a fk you!

    • +1

Jeez! Ordered one set, seems order was verified successfully. Refreshed the page and price has changed to $662 and 2 per customer. How crazy is that!

      • Yup, looks like the price went up. How much did you purchase it for?

        • +2

Got it for $170, tbh knowing MWave… I expect the worst and hope for the best.

      • +2

The fact that they upped the price rather than take it down is good news. They're still taking orders, so they should fulfil the ones already made.

      • +1

        Typical Mwave. Order cancelled.

    • just found out digidirect now own mwave so i'm expecting a cancellation email

    • +1

      Cancelled

      • Same

      • yep same fkn dogs, typical of digi direct owned company, never again!

Reviews on that CORSAIR Vengeance for the price though probs still worth it

  • +1

Must be behind the 8 ball, when did they shift from megahertz to megatransfer/second?
I have a ddr5 ram from a couple years ago and was still labelled as mhz.
Are the values interchangeable to see where each Ram sits on speed space?
E.g is 6000mhz equivalent to 6000MT/s, even though MT/s is technically more correct?

    • +1

A month or so ago but some places had changed years ago to this MT/s naming

  • I've got 64 gigs in my current build so I'm set… but this is legit crazy. As if some up and coming company doesn't step up to make their own ram and clean up with the other three being so greedy.

    • +4

It will probably be china that saves us

      • +1

Not if they use all of theirs for AI too…..

    • Not to mention - wait for this chain reaction to affect GPU prices through skyrocketing RAM prices. Sad…

      • Yeah like they already needed to be inflated any more -_-

Guess I'm sitting on my 4090 for the next 10 years.

        • +7

lol. oh no, how will you survive with a 4090 for so long :P

          • @jk82: D:

          • @jk82: My G16 only has a 5070ti in it :(

            • +1

              @Mr-NPC: 😭😅

              • @jk82: i literally use it just as a work laptop too… I have a thing that I can't have a weak laptop even if I'm not gaming on it

                • @Mr-NPC: haha, well maybe you should get a 5090 now then before prices go up??! currently sitting at $4.5k which is at least better than the $6k they launched at :D

                  https://www.pgrid.app/au/gpus/geforce-rtx-5090

                  • +1

@jk82: Nah not worth it. I'll wait to see how badly priced the 6090 gen is lol.

                    • @Mr-NPC: I am currently looking for used 4090 for about 2.7-2.9k aud in cash if u willing to sell the card, the price for 5090 is just way too much.

                      • @twdjlzl: Nah sorry bro. It's going to be probably carrying me for the new 5 years at this rate. Also it's a ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX™ 4090 White OC Edition so if I really wanted to sell I could most likely do better.

  • Unable to checkout / purchase… you can get the slower 5600 kit still (I bought 2 sets just in case).

  • this is going to be a mofo.. and then soon the price is going to collapse and the whole world with have an influx or oversupply of RAM.

    • well that would be nice!

    • I don't think there will be an oversupply when the bubble bursts, because the shortages are being caused by production shifting to HBM and other server-specific memory products. It won't be anything they can divert back to the consumer market.

  • +1

Order placed at 10:15am then order cancelled at 11:35am..

Looks like nope, no stock available.

  • +1

i'm surprised motherboards haven't gotten cheaper. surely build numbers must have plunged

    • +2

It will next quarter, lots of people jumped from AM4 to AM5 just as RAM prices started to explode.

      • I wonder if Windows 10 support ending in September had anything to do with it

  • I tried ordering a set on the last deal. It was cancelled within a few days

  • +1

Dont bother ordering. Placed one on previous deal, got cancelled. Items sold in Big W Market or Everyday Markets can be easily cancelled, sellers not obligated to fulfill the order even though it is advertised.

  • +1

    Update:

Here's the email I got from mwave:

Thank you for your order for Corsair Vengeance CMK32GX5M2B6400Z36. Unfortunately this RAM was incorrectly sold with a price error at $170.95. This price was an error and we are unfortunately unable to honour it. We are thus cancelling it from your order and a refund will be processed back to the original payment method. If you paid using direct deposit or BPAY, please provide us with a bank account name, number and BSB, in addition to the transaction receipt for the original order. We can process a refund back via direct deposit using those details.

Please accept our sincerest apologies for this error. If you purchased other goods on the same order, those goods are being processed as per normal. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or requests.

    Kind Regards,
    Mwave Customer Service

    • +1

Lame, no credit mwave this time…

    • +1

Got the same email from MWave. fkn mwave

    • +1

Taking your money and only then not honouring the sale contract is pretty dodgy.
