Further Details

All items over $49 sent via Australia Post Express - 1 Business-Day Dispatch

All imported stock, already in Australia, ships from Townsville, QLD - fully compatible with your Australian setup (most are actually universal models)

12-month CamGuard Australia warranty - P.S. yes we handle the warranty directly as we are not an authorised distributor since we import our stock, but we make sure to process these quick. 30-Day returns as well (we pay return postage).

Who are we?

I've just launched the CamGuard Australia website as I noticed we seem to cop a 'down under surcharge' on a lot of home security products that I wanted, and a way to solve this was to just bulk import the items myself 🤷‍♂️

We've been on eBay for a few months now (https://www.ebay.com.au/str/camguardaustralia) and decided it's time to reduce marketplace fees a little, obviously to preserve margin and provide consistently good deals to add a little competition and keep Australian pricing a lil fairer :)

Hoping we can earn your trust to give us a go, please swing me any questions etc below!!

Happy bargain hunting,
CamGuard Australia/Gordon

Yeah fair point - worth noting that 1 year is what eufy provide under their AU warranty as well, we're just matching that. ACL still applies on top of that regardless

  • With the E340, if going the wired option, what transformer do you recommend or sell?

    • +3

      Hey mate,

Great question as I'm not too familar with hardwiring these to be straight up - I've only ever run them off battery. I did some digging though and eufy recommend using a standard doorbell transformer in the 16–24VAC range, with around 30VA power rating so the doorbell runs reliably and keeps the battery topped up. Especially with the dual-cameras and the lights it shines from the top and bottom it might be ideal to have that headroom.

We don’t currently sell the transformers ourselves as well sorry! But any sparky can supply a suitable 16–24VAC / 30VA doorbell transformer (remind them it will likely need to draw more power than a standard doorbell before they install it). There's a specs page here if that helps: https://service.eufy.com/article-description/Understanding-t…

      Cheers,
      Gordon

      • Thanks much for the quick response

  • really good price compared to other sites - if I had my own home, I'd probably get this and hard wire :D

    • +1

Agreed hard-wired is the go! I'm in the same boat as you though 😜 We've had a few of the new eufy Power over Ethernet (PoE) cameras on eBay in the last month (at a decent price too) and they haven't been selling suprisingly.. Once you have a permanent crib, hardwired is just set and forget 👌

Not related to the seller but one of my Eufy S330 from pack of three just died. It is only three months old, and no wonder why there are so many refurbished one of these.

    S340 vs S4?

    • Alright so, the S4 came out last month and is effectively the upgrade to the S340. What the S4 has over the S340 is 4K res vs. 3K, bigger solar panel, the flashy red and blue alarm lights (kinda gimmicky but I reckon its cool haha), slightly brighter LED's, firmware upgrade soon to allow it to record 24/7 when plugged-in, and swappable battery which is good for future proofing since I don't think there is a way to swap these out of the S340 after a few years if battery life starts degrading.

The S4's flagship feature though is the dual cameras as the top ones stay fixed on a position whilst the bottom gimbal camera follows another subject, whereas the S340 is a bit ADHD and just follows whatever is making the most movement. Unless there's like a group of people you don't really need this.

In saying that, all those are kinda just 'what else can we upgrade' features, because there's not much more they can engineer to make them better IMO - think iPhone 17 vs iPhone 17 Pro, just depends if you want the niche features even though the standard is fine.

My view is get the S4 because I can't imagine feeling the need to want to upgrade for years. P.S. despite the price differences the S340 and S4 come out to the same profit margin because of this promo so I'm trying to be as objective as possible - not trying to upsell you 🤪

  • Any thought on how the eufyCam S4 and Eufy SoloCam S340 compare against the eufy 2K Floodlight Pro in terms of tracking, camera quality etc?

Our Floodlight Pro broke after a couple of years (the camera no longer physically moves to track targets and is stuck facing directly downwards, everything else still works fine) and Eufy wouldn't have a bar of it under ACL - eventually offered to give us a eufy Floodlight Camera E30 but that seemed like a bit of a downgrade.

    • +1

I know this isn't your question but I would have thought the E340 Floodlight would have been a more equivalent replacement than the E30 Floodlight, but that's just me looking at pictures of the floodlight panels on each.. But anyway as for the tracking and quality from the S340 and eufyCam S4 against the older models:

S340: Smoother tracking, but still has that "blind spot" issue when it rotates. 3K resolution.
S4: Has a fixed lens + point to zoom lens. It never stops watching your main zone even while tracking a moving subject. 4K resolution.

Resolution isn't everything though especially for night time vision so I'm going to let these reviews help explain it - too much to type haha

      S340: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhgbtuhPy1s
      eufyCam S4: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qV0t9eQtig

Both obviously won't match the brightness of the floodlights but the newer ones don't need as much light to get good vision at least due to wider apetures.

  • Hoping we can earn your trust to give us a go,
    Website: "Trading as CamGuard Australia"

Registering this as a business name would help with the trust part as you're meant to clearly identify to customers which entity they are doing business with (ie, you as a sole-trader and not some fictitious entity).
As it's an offence to operate under an unregistered business name, the 'CamGuard Australia Warranty' means little.

It only takes a few minutes to register and it's easy to transfer if the business becomes a company.

    • +1

Thank you Thrift! I didn't realize that - I've just put the registration through now. It might take 24 hours to update on the public register, but I appreciate the heads up! :) Cheers

  • Reolink cheaper and no subscription required

  • You certainly are "preserving your margin(s)" by selling direct.
You are offering the Homebase 3 direct for $219.00, the same price you have it listed on eBay. Yet eBay will charge you $29.00 in sales fees.

    • +1

Hi Ocker, I believe you're looking at the refurbished unit on eBay at $219. Our new ones are $269 on eBay so in fact $50 cheaper direct :)

  • Hi, can the S340 connect to a Homebase 2?

    • Hey sorry for the late reply! No the S340 doesn't sorry. They only work with HomeBase 3's.. We do have them on sale as you may have seen though.

      Cheers,
      Gordon

  • That's a fantastic deal on the E340 Video Doorbell, surprised it was still in stock - it's an ATL price!

Just snagged it, congrats on the launch!

    • +1

Thank you mate I appreciate it! I'm suprised we're still in stock as well as I thought they were killer deals 🤪 Understandably though it takes time for people to build trust with a new brand but we're in it for the long haul! Your order is packed by the way and dispatching this afternoon :)

      Cheers,
      Gordon

      • Am in awe with the packing and shipping speed, I didn't even have my first coffee yet!

Yeah no surprise, the deals are fantastic, it's probably just the presentation. Having a website with Square checkout is already a good first step. I think the word 'Import' in the post title might scare people (Despite the QLD mention) into thinking its long shipping. Can also build trust by adding secondary links to your eBay storefront, and tables to compare prices to brick and mortar.

        Once again good luck Gordon!
