I am waiting till at least boxing day sales, we missed the black friday sales and the boxing day sales will either be the equivalent or better due to end of year stock before the new models next year.
I am goig to get 55inch C7K, hoping around $750. C8K series is obviously way better but C7K is best bang for your buck from all the research i've done.

C7K is good enough to play games on ps5 digital? In jb thread someone mentioned oled is better for the games and hence the question.
- 0

C7K is perfect for the ps5. I’m waiting for one at around $800 for 55” like the guy above u for mine

@deadboom: Good Guys has it for $905 with the pay less price beat plus the today only online order discount. Wondering to buy it now or gamble for the 26th+. As Good Guys has their boxing day sale starting today so doubt prices going to be lower. The cheapest deal I could find on the 55C7k was the 11th November at costo for $850. I just assumed that the end of year boxing day sales would lower the price to $750-800 but dont want to get too greedy, not sure what to do.

OLED is better, but it's also much more expensive. You can look at plenty of gaming performance videos on YouTube for the C8K and C7K and OLED. They're all great for gaming, but what you get will depend on your budget and your room conditions i.e lighting.
- 0

@ifreddo: Do these people not have curtains.. like how bright is the room? I have an OLED in a well lit room on 60 brightness.. 100 is blinding.
- 0

@BusMan247: I think it's more that OLED really shines in low light\dark settings. Kind of like a projector. The contrast is SO good that it needs a perfectly dark room to show the full benefits.
And no one wants to have to pull curtains everytime they wanna watch tv.
But I get your point 😂
I have a Hisense px3 and I watch it in a well lit room with huge windows!

Just got a 65 c7k during black Friday. Came from an old tv but this one has been amazing! Overall and also PS5! No complaints!

OLED is generally the best for everything except really bright environments. But it is priced accordingly. For most use cases a c7k/c8k or similar tv from other brands would suffice. In TCL, nothing comes close to c7k in terms of best bang for the buck. I compared c7k & c8k in store and on demo videos they both looked somewhat similar. OLED on the other hand looked flawless. I would recommend heading to your local stores and checking them out yourself rather than taking someone's word for it.
- 1

Oled is obviously way better picture but also more expensive. If PS5 was my main form of gaming and I spent a lot of time playing it + watching movies & shows, Id try and get an Oled in my budget. But the C7k handles everything nearly as good for a way better price/value ratio. Heck, you could even go for a C6K if you didnt utilise the tv as much. Reason why the C7k is reccomended by everyone that asks for a near quality Oled without the cost is because comparing it to the competitors, it beats them in every category for the same price range. Hisense cant compete with the offerings in that price range for example.

@Caramel Please: No burn in, brighter, its not a bad compromise.
I say that as having 4 OLEDs, C8. C4 AW3225QF and S90D. I saw the tcl in-store and its impressive.
- 1

@BusMan247: Just an update, i was a side to side comparison and the G5 is brighter than the 8k. Its also double the price but thought id mention for those looking.

Yeah I really want that 55” C7K for $800 or less
- 2

I folded on the JB deal. Otherwise I was in your exact boat waiting for the same wave. C7K 65 for $1170 I think was the best I could find around black friday with TGG price beat.
Went with the C8. Cant imagine its 50% better at $1510 if you get it for the $800 which I think will occur. I'm upgrading from a 16/17 N8 hisense. I wanted it before Xmas, the day they did the deal is outside of that 14 potential to claim the difference as well so I think you are smart to wait. Unless ordered today.
- 1

waiting for TGG to drop their price too to claim price protection
- 2

Is it only applicable when you buy additional warranty or by default for any order?
- 0

Got 3% off HN gift cards through Bupa. I could have got 4.5% off JB cards but the closest store with stock was 3 hours drive. I have a local HN and nothing else with 1.5 hoirs so pretty happy with the deal. Is on backorder and I got an email that it will be up to 2 weeks

This model is sure to drop even further after the new year. So I'll HODL
- -4

It won't drop much more. Last year's equivalent of the 85 inch C8K went down to $2000 at the beginning of this year. Even then it was limited stock and hard to purchase.
This is a good price and you shouldn't sleep on it.
- 2

I'm so torn whether to buy this now or wait till boxing day sales. Is it likely to go on sale again?
- 0

Given the limited stock there might not be many units left to go on sale by boxing day. I ended up pulling the trigger faced with the same question…I managed to get 85" for $2,300 delivered via Good Guys chat.
- 0

I paid 3200 in June after holding out and I dont think I wasted a cent
- 2

Thanks, this makes me feel even better about my purchase!
- 0

Haven't pre-boxing day prices been been over the last couple of years?
I'm trying to recall how it was last year and I think in general most things we more expensive than pre Christmas/black friday.

They have been

Man …. two nights of torment in a row of considering to splash some cash …
- 1

Same, want to buy this just to stop wasting so much time looking for a better deal. Only thing stopping me is supporting Gerry….
- 2

Same, I price matched at The Good Guys via online chat for that exact reason. Got TGG down to $2,300 inc delivery.
- 6

Just price beat it somewhere else! Don’t support Gerry.

Am I the only mug that cares if these panels have variable refresh rate? What's the story with these TVs and native refresh rates?
… 288Hz VRR / FreeSync Premium Pro… Surely that's not an actual native 288hz refresh rate? It cannot be.
… Aha, native refresh is 144hz at 4k, can be boosted to 288hz at 2k res. This conversation with me is super enlightening.
- 7

You've just experienced rubber duck debugging :)
- 3

144hzbat 4k and only two ports on HDMI 2.1 for it
AMD sync only.
Ib think the 288hz is not reachable and likely software limit in theory with AMD sync

Got it with $700 gift card last time. Great TV for my switch2
- 1

What was the criteria for getting a $700 gc?
- 0

The 75" is $1,794.60 when I do it.
- 0

updated, maybe I had wrong price or its been upped, im sure it was a bit cheaper than jb
- 0

I'm roughly 3m from my TV. Will 75" be too big or good?
- 0

I’m about 3m from this 75in model. It’s not too big and I’m really impressed with the panel. Would recommend
- 1

At that distance need 85 at least
- 0

Having just bought the 85" and sit about same distance … after the first few days you get used to it very quickly. originally I thought it was too big, but now the it is perfect in size.
For the coin, it is an awesome TV
- 0

Its a much lower spek tv, but i bought the p7k this week ans im really impressed by it. If anyone is sitting on the fence about TCL quality just go for it, im sure the higher spec ones will be even better!
- 1

C8K is premium range under TCL its close to LG C5 does 90% without the inflated price
C5 performs better in darker rooms and had 4 x HDMI 2.1
But for general users not Hifi enthusiasts C8K is a decent cost effective option. I checked in store I couldn't see much difference
- 0

Yeah i understand that, was saying that im surprised by the quality of their lower range so the top stuff abould be decent as well
- 0

Yeah TCL improved a lot. This brand was junk ten years ago.
But since 2024 they made huge progress. Can say TCL is the best bang for buck on TVs. Forget about Sony and LG or Samsung. They are now too expensive for what you pay for
Most 4K content do not come free. What you see in the stores are not achievable unless you subscribe steaming service or have 4k content on your NAS
Hisense and TCL basically the best brands for the average Joe

Got an email this morning saying my 75" is on backorder and estimated to be ready in 2 weeks.
- 0

Boxing day price covered
- 0

Boxing day will not be lower than this $1795.50 stacking giftcards even better if you managed to get those 10% off
- 0

Did anyone manage to get the 75’ C8K for $1,794 and could share the receipt? 🙏🏼
Pricing at the moment is around $2,700 - doesn’t look like Boxing Day prices will drop to Black Friday levels
- 0

There's been multiple receipts/dockets posted in the other recent C8K threads if you search by item.
The best was someone getting the 75" for $1400 (and $1900 for the 85").
- 2

Hey there and Merry xmas
Can you please link directly? I'm struggling to find the exact link for a 75" inch in C8k with receipts for my hunt tomorrow and would really appreciate it.
Thank you!
- 0

Found it here, they won't accept it as it's redacted - https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/272386/125854/good_guy…
Same as JPG - Anyone have a receipt from $1,794 that we can use please.
Thank you
- 0

Purchased the 85 inch earlier today from The Good Guys using the live chat for $2055 delivered. I uploaded the $1897 invoice that’s floating around on here and asked if they could match it, but got told the best they could do it for was $2055, which I was happy with. It’s on backorder and expected to arrive in 3-6 weeks though.

Wonder what boxing day pricing will be like
