    This is a deal?

    $299 for quartz Seiko? lol

I mean yes it has Sapphire crystal, yes it's a titanium case/strap, but come on, in 2025 if you want Japanese quartz it should be solar, and if you want to pay this price you can wait for a deal on an automatic Seiko instead.

    • Agreed. It's 2025 that's why., is all inflated.

As far as I know, the automatics are thicker, are less accurate, and require setting if not worn for a day or two? Personally I wouldn't want to pay much for that, unless I only wanted that watch for it's looks, and not it's ability to track time or require constant maintenance.
This is 8.4mm thick, not many automatics are close to that.

Now value wise, I would prefer if this was solar but that's asking a lot

Have a look at the JDM Casio lineages, pretty sweet.

      • a lot of these are pot metal or plated plastic

also get them at the 50% off yearly sales

i usually only get autos and i'm wearing a alpinist but I think this model isnt the worst thing in the world

i think you can find it cheaper on ebay with coupons but it uses a 364 battery which is like $3… so you pay $1 a year to run it… i can change batteries myself or you can use the asian watch makers at paddy's for $10…

i mean at $3 for 3yrs who cares about solar lol

        • I feel like solar is just an interest, like if someone likes automatics it’s for purely emotional reasons, same with solar, it’s cool tech that you don’t need.

  • Stamped clasp and hollow end links for $600? Are they JDM or something?

    • It's seiko rrp, meaning it's worth roughly 60% of the price, but try not to pay more than 50%

    • Yes aim for 40-50% off, no one pays RRP lol
Pressed clasp is usually fine up to a price, comfortable and can't see it when closed. It's mainly the nitpickers that go on about it in the last few years. It's easy to put it on a different strap as well if you want.

Id probably have a look at the JDM solar equivalents but will cost you more most likely.

      • thing is seiko charge a fortune for anything good

my alpinist is $1,250 retail (!!!) and the only thing it misses out on is the stamped clasp which seiko puts on everything under $5k

it would not surprise me if this is made in china but seiko charge jdm prices

seiko think they are the lexus of watches

        • Lol calm down and ignore the RRP. At least they heavily reduce the sale price almost immediately. All brands have doubled RRP (like bloody oris, and they are meh).

Plenty of my 6R35 watches have milled clasp and RRP was well under 5k ($1895and can get new for $1350).

J models are made in Japan. Was good getting a JDM mini turtle from eBay JP in the past (was actually shipped from Japan, same as Orient kamasu).
