    Silly question - I presume there is no way to buy this as a 'gift' ? (assuming you don't have the Nintendo account details of the person you want to buy it for)

      Sadly even if you did have the nintendo account details of the person you still can't gift it. Nintendo is way behind the times on this (and other things).
