Finally a sale on the PC version!

    • +11

      unfortunately on Epic

      • -2

        What's the issue with that?

Normally I buy on Steam but isn't it the same thing essentially?

        • +3

nothing wrong with it, just another launcher to open.

          • -2

@Wilociraptor: so the steam one does not open any other launcher?

            • +3

@Roe Jogan: who knows, i don't own the game, i'm sure it does open another launcher.

no shade, but I just want to keep things as central as possible, instead of having steam + epic + GoG + amazon games + a handful of others open on top of the games individual launchers. I'm glad the issues doesn't affect you tho, more power to ya

              • +6

@Wilociraptor: It's always amusing to see people complain about game pricing and just about mega corporations in general… But then a soon as there is an actual alternative, they are like "ew, no thanks, don't want to have another icon on my desktop! I'll stick to the monopoly"…

Similar thing happened with Masters here in the hardware market, yeah they weren't perfect, but most of the reason people didn't like them was because they looked a bit different to what they were used to with Bunnings so people were like "ew it's not exactly what I'm used to, I'll stick with the monopoly thanks"

                Corporations must love us 😅

                • -3

@Binchicken22: You can try and minimize everyones preferences as much as you like, but in reality, it's not about the icon on the desktop, which isn't even required, and you can put it in the start menu. It's the game app features and performance that everyone is concerned about, I am sure. For example, the same "road redemption" title on epic is useless to a social online gamer as you can't do multiplayer, whereas steam has a remote play with friends feature that lets you play local coop games, online with your friends. Epic launcher features suck in comparison. All they do is give away free games and never actually improve their launcher and add features that gamers want.

Every time I open a EA game up from steam, it has to launch the ea launcher too which means there's 2 instances of a game launcher running in my background, which could mean two launchers fighting for bandwidth for updates and extra cpu overhead making games run slower. To be fair, EA launcher has to run whether Battlefield is on Epic or Steam, so in this case the driving factor for Steam preference must be for the features they have over other launchers, such as the above mentioned "remote play", even though it doesn't benefit this game. Epic games launcher is so crap they have to pay you to use their launcher via free game giveaways. It's the only reason I ever downloaded their launcher, was for freebees lol. This fact alone is enough for me to support the launcher that actually gives gamers useful features instead of just throwing free stuff at you to make up for the crappy launcher.

                  • +1

@Tythefly86: I'm just pointing out the irony, everyone thought the "digital revolution" was going to lead to more choice and better deals for consumers due to reduced distribution costs and more competition… However it just hasn't played out that way, games are generally more expensive digitally (when they are new and everyone wants them, its hard to make a comparison once games are 5 years old and everywhere is having sales for them for $9.99 or free like you say) and the "power" has actually been consolidated even further. Instead of being able to choose to buy your game from "EB Games", target, Big w, amazon, various independent retailers etc etc, Steam owns like 99% of the PC gaming market and when people are presented with a choice that may lead to more competition and better pricing they are like "ew no, steam has this niche feature that I can easily achieve with a 3rd party software and I use about 1% of the time (or most people probably never) so I'm not changing"

              • +1

@Wilociraptor: 100% life was good before they all wanted your info. And playing time. And choices. Its literally the google model.

We think we are getting free maps but we are doing 24/7 surveys with everything we've ever thought.. almost.

            • +2

@Roe Jogan: Nope - no EA launcher with Steam version. Probably same with Epic though I'm not sure. All my games are in Steam though so Epic is another launcher I don't need.

              • +1

@jk82: from what i remember with BF5 few years ago and how i stopped playing it, there was an update that required me to have epic and origin i tried insatlling it and i kept getting errors, tried to fix it for a f ew hours and couldn't, so i gave up

              • +1

@jk82: BF6 has no EA launcher required for Steam and fully integrates your Steam nickname as your in-game name and your Steam friends.

On Epic it requires the EA app and doesn't pull any data from your Epic account.

                • @Agret: Sorry to trouble you…
Do you know if it is going to work with Steam Family Sharing?

                  • +1

@SickDmith: It is excluded from Steam Family Sharing. You can actually see on the Steam game page if a game supports Family sharing because it will be listed on the side with the other features like Single Player, Achievements, Cloud etc.

                    • @nategasm: Thank you. I was looking for a wrong thing - I can see it now.

          • @Wilociraptor: The horror…

        • +2

I'm fairly sure there was an issue near launch where EA had connection issues but Steam users were fine. Probably a minor difference in the grand scheme of things though.

      • It's exactly the same price if you buy it directly from Steam.

    • +2

This is a reminder that you can buy BF6 via Ukrainian with a VPN, using the EA app and a Wise card. I paid $62AUD

Not selling well over there because they can just go outside 🤷‍♂️

      • If you wanted to gamble on this sort of thing, steamdb suggests that the best price conversion is China.

        https://steamdb.info/app/2807960/

        ¥ 187.60 changes to A$ 39.88

    • +1

Mine was the best sale FREE with my cpu :D

  • +1

is this any good, compared to that trashy last one?

    • +5

It is very good, but their updates keep breaking the game (feels like there is no QA), and hot patches are slow to roll out. :)

      • +2

I think they have also gone for too many different modes. They should have settled for 2-3 modes focused on the large map conquest that they're known for. As a vonsile player i also wish that all consoles were considered the same platform. I would prefer to play consoles but end up cross-platform a lot to get a game, some of the things good PC gamers can do make it a miserable experience.

    • +4

It was fun for a while and definitely better than 2042 but I lost interest pretty quickly. Kinda feels too COD-like and nowhere near as immersive as BFI and BFV.
Wish the maps were larger and people would play the objectives.

ARC Raiders is the better choice at the moment, especially if you have others you can team up with.

Arma Reforger is another great option if you like mil-sims. Heaps of Aussie servers with mods and 95% of players actually use comms and help you rather than the usual game trolls.

      • +2

Arc Raiders is excellent solo. Don't sleep on it.

        • I'd say the same - I actually prefer ARC Raiders solo. And definitely prefer it over BF6.

      • +1

I disagree, I didnt get into BF6, mainly because the TTK wasnt like COD. Compared to COD, the TTk is too high. This game has a very familiar BF3 feel.

    • +2

It's a return to form, but it's worse than all the games it's meant to be returning form to.

    • +2

      Graphics = Fanastic.
      Atmosphere = Fanastic.
      Map design = Fanastic.
Gunplay = OK, although most of the weapons feel a little lackluster in terms of feedback IMO. eg Rifles feel nerf'd, like shooting air rifles vs powder rifles, recoil is almost non existent taking the weapon handling skill out of the game, I guess to make it more accessible to a larger audience.
Loadout Customisability = great, very serviceable.
Campaign story = Total garbage IMO. It is not up to today's standards. feels like it was told/directed by someone from the Xbox360 era that hasnt grown with the times.
Multiplayer = Good, would be amazing if not so bullet spongy, or if it had a hardcore mode.

      • +1

Map design being fantastic isn't one I've been hearing

      • +1

I wouldn't describe the map design as fantastic. Compared to previous battlefields the paths between points and objectives are very linear.

      • Well, there IS a hardcore mode… you just need to play it

  • +1

If you have access to a VPN service, you may get away with even cheaper price on their EA app.

waiting for Steam's winter sale and it might be the same price then

  • -7

    No thanks
Happy keep playing warzone for free

    • +8

How is that a comparison lol?
Battlefield 6 has a BR mode similar to Warzone that is also 100% free.

  • +9

nah, the price will plummet fast in few weeks. Thank u

    • +7

100%. Their games alwys do after not very long. I don't think this one has been successful enough to change that. No fkn way I'm paying 75. Id consider 50. Id buy at 40.

  • Has anyone used Geforce now? I'm tempted to try it on my old laptop cos it has no discrete gaming card. Curious if it's just a gimmick or will actually be ok

    • It would be fine for the campaign if that's what your interested in. Online MP, no, would be too much latency introduced.

    • You need god tier internet connection to be viable.

  • +2

This game should be free. EA are scumbag and it is slop. Hopefully they can pull it together eventually but I wouldn’t pay more than $40 for it.

    Unfortunately I paid $110 like a goose

  • Would like to play it but Linux here with Secure Boot turned off. Shrugs

  • Paid like 69 via Indian VPN on ea launcher at launch

  • +4

I wouldn't be surprised if this is 35%off by boxing day on Steam.
Games like these need a high player base to succeed.

    • +3

Next big Steam sale starts in 5 days, so I'd hold off if you want the Steam version

  • I’ll keep playing BF1 for now.

  • +1

Fun game. Not a hardcore player but enjoying it.

  • Can someone help me with one question:
Is this going to work via Family sharing in Steam?

    • Got the answer.
      "No".

  • +1

    Same price on Steam now

    • And on EA.
Part of Winter Sale ends Jan 5.

  • +1

Apprently BF6 cost them $500 million USD to get produced…
and they reused a BF3&4 map, operation firestorm.
And on the PS5 version. A large friggen open chat window is enabled as well as some other dumb settings to find the server ping.
Oh yeah the scoreboard. we had to figure that out. OH well it was only a one nightmare.
But as always we got owned by Northern hemisphere players with sub 10ms pings. 60-120ms on NBN100 as AU servers where full.

  • Origin, the one app preventing my PC from going to sleep. Prefer not to use.
