Note: the $300+ off will not happen.

Lmao maybe check every gen then in OzB history then.
Note: the $300+ off will not happen.
Betting against marshmall0w2 on deals eh? I'll take it on. We've already had a JB Hi-Fi $200 off btw. Then +10% off further using JB Hi-Fi Ultimate GC.

Do you know if you wait until 2085 we might even get 400 off? Bad deal!

You do know we already had a $200 off with JB Hi-Fi right?

No actually, do you have proof/link?

@marshmall0w2: Do you realize thats less than 60 off this deal? And 10 more than if OW price match?
And at least 3 quarter of comments are about how they never received the targetted codes?I actually want to see your credibiliy man but you cant keep pulling hypothetical apples out of your ass and comparing it to oranges :/
Its not even my typical hyperbole either. You are effectively comparing one sale to another sale and say "wait for both stacked on top of each other". And with such confidence :/

@ddoraaaaa:
Also someone at the store confimed its a price error by 80 bucks lol I can't
Edit: the price above is after the price error is fixed, mb
@ddoraaaaa: Marshmallow is basically a grifter at this point.
I think only once I've had a comment or post I agreed with them on.
They're looking too closely at how they believe things should be, without looking at how they actually are and doing a logical comparison that way.
In their world a 9070 XT should be sub 800. Sure. Probably. Gpus got way too expensive, too quickly, mostly since post covid the inflation never really settled back down. You can blame Nvidia for this, probably. But that doesn't then inherently mean a 950 dollar 9070 XT (well below msrp) is a 'bad deal' but he'll still demote it as one. Their comparisons are mostly flawed based on hypothetical best case stars align scenarios.
I know this is Ozbargain but I shouldn't have to wait for a full blood moon with a comet passing by alongside a meteor shower to get a decent deal. Hahaha

@ReaperX22: Tsk tsk tsk. Calling someone who is preventing others from falling into bad deals and spending money on bad deals a grifter. If people were to follow you rather than me, they'd be broke in a month. I have zero incentive for making people spend money. I care not for internet points, which I can easily farm by posting shite deals myself or by doing toxic positivity and saying "WOW GREAT PRICE" to everything. In fact, when I DO say "good deal," I still get negged. So who is the real grifter in a den of thieves and wolves, associates, affiliates, and marketers?
The one who would have you believe that evatech's 7800X3D + 5080 was a "good deal" for $3.5k?
The one who would have you believe that an RTX 4050 laptop for $1.1k is a "good deal?"
The one who have you believe a 512 GB MicroSD Express card that is $168 is a "good deal?"
The one who have you believe a RODE mic arm should cost $170?
The one who have you believe a Neo 50 Edge should still cost $377 this day?
The one who have you believe that an Xiaomi 15T Pro for a "discounted price" of $999 is a good deal? Or that an OPPO phone for $1.7k is a "good deal?"
That a $200 discounted Denon 3800 for $1800 is a "good deal?"
That a modern RMW boot for $489 is a good deal?
And many more examples.
Your example of the $950 9070 XT is weak because my last 9070 XT comment was saying $844. I've always said people are free to spend their money however they like. I just let them know what they're getting into. You're free to be trigger happy and spend as much as you want. I don't own your money.

@marshmall0w2: But your examples are still basically asking for specific circumstances to align in order to actually get a "good deal', no?
I'm all for saving people money - I did it for almost 3 years at a tech retailer, which was counter-intuitive to my job back then, technically. (balancing peoples pc build requests, saving them money on gaming-only machines, etc).
But a lot of the time you comment and just spout 'bad deal'. 'should be under arbitrary amount'. You may not be technically incorrect if we look at what things should cost relative to x years ago or following a trend of prices for a particular range of items or performance, or perhaps even what you believe they should; but it takes out the reality of what they are.
It just comes across as unhelpful most of the time.

@ReaperX22: Man that's a lot of words for nothing. Like what does
for specific circumstances to align in order to actually get a "good deal"
even mean? Wtf? Deals happen all the time and some deals are good, some deals are bad. Nothing deep about it. You posted your comment on an M4 MBA 13" for $1355.69, which I am saying now is not a good deal. That's it.
My "bad deals" are starting points to do your own research. I won't always be able to provide explanations, counterlinks, examples blah blah. In fact if you were to name another user that does this with the same frequency as I do AND also provide explanations, you would never find one.

do you know I got one for $1K :) cash is king lol

@InfinityandBeyond: Back of a white van. Deactivated picked up some speakers as well, and some excess concrete that was going to waste, plus a very good price from some tree cutters that just happened to be in the area.

Can’t win with left wing people :D

Yep. So many brokens.

Payment surcharge makes this one cheaper, I guess price match could work better with the digidirect one

If I PM with OW on phone, live chat - do they send a quote ? Can I go in store to pay on 19th Dec? I'm flying on 17th Feb.. so would like to claim TRS as well..
Or with JB Hifi live chat, can I pay for it later after a few days?

Jbhifi will generally generate a unique quote link to you and you can pay in your own time.
However I don't recall if it's a limited time offer (I.e expires after 24hrs)

JB cart usually expires at midnight same day. That has been my experience.

No. With OW you cannot pay in store. Have to pay over the phone when you price match.

I did call my local store and then went in-store to get a Price beat quote that expires in 7 days time. So I can go in next week which would be 60 days before travel date to claim TRS.

Got this for $1299

Cool. Story. Bro.

It was $1299 at Costco last week

Dumb. Comment. Bro.

Was it? I don't see how someone saying 'I got this for x price' with no link, no other piece of information, or context, is anything other than gloating. My comment was as pointless as theirs. That's the point.
/whoosh

seems daily std price, thought costco has a special a while back and was under $1300 ? and jb and ow were also under $1300 ?

i think costco was $1299 and the rest only went down to $1347

Great machine, great price.

Thanks OP. Got OW price match for $1288.15

Got it at OW for $1279.65 (DigiDirect price beat)

You win this time sir

I don't need this I don't need this I don't need this I don't need this I don't need this I don't need this I don't need this I don't need this

Yes you do Yes you do Yes you do Yes you do Yes you do Yes you do Yes you do Yes you do Yes you do Yes you do ; )

Good deals in the last few week on what is probably the best entry/mid level laptop.
And then there are folks on FB marketplace that try sell used MBA M3 for $1500.

At this point they're so quick that they're probably the best laptop, period, for 90% of people's use cases! I'm waiting for sub 1150 or so. Only because I don't really need one. I'd like one, though. So setting a harder to reach goal saves me money. Usually… Lol

I get it, but $200 for multiple years worth of use? Just bite the bullet and be happy. We all probably spend $200 a month on shit (food, coffee, snacks, subscriptions)
When I want something I normally downgrade my subsriptions on everything for a couple months, not buy coffee or takeout and I've justified my purchase.

Ha. My mate has been tyring to convince me of the same argument!
I guess the real issue is. My actual use case for a laptop is pretty casual/minimal.. I used to use my work provided laptop for some personal things but they installed Zscaler. I couldnt even load YouTube music, YouTube was restricted. Or Ozbargain! Haha. (before there was basically no remote management software or network traffic control etc)
I installed a VM and bridge mode it to bypass local connection and go straight to my router, but this has been sometimes a lil jank. I have a PC but obviously it's stationary and sometimes if I wanna stuff around with my home server I'd rather just chill on the couch with a lappy.

512GB model price beat Amazon for $1554.15 successful

Online or in person?

Called store number and waited for me to walk there in-person to purchase

Thanks!

Great price but definitely worth springing for more storage.

Any claim with "definitely" in it is definitely wrong, including this one. You don't know everyone's needs. And I'd argue that 256 is good for most. It makes you keep a tidy ship :-)
I was worried about having only 256GB ($300 upgrade was not an option), but have had no problems. It does limit local "time machine" backups, but better to do it over the network/cloud anyway. Hell, everything is cloud these days. The only reason my Windows PC needs more local storage is for games, and you don't get a mac for gaming :)
If you want e.g. media library when travelling, or some big Virtual Machines, an external SSD works fine, and with Thunderbolt, you can't complain about speed.

Officework's pricing on the m2 16gb RAM 256gb SSD is like as though they have the equivalent of the m3 (almost $2000 for 512gb model) vs which they don't have in stock. Do they have their heads stuck in the clouds with these pretend pricing or what?

There are people out there who are insistent that their old laptop that has stopped working be replaced exactly with the same model I.e an m2, even if a newer model exists at the same price. Those prices exist for such types.

120hz oled coming…

Pros next year, air 2028, so not any time soon

Probably 2029 is more realistic. I eagerly await Apple announcing it has developed OLED.

Not sure why it's marked out of stock. Only the "sky blue" is out of stock, other colours are still available.

I'm disappointed with Amazon. I bought on Saturday and they were meant to deliver Sunday. That was missed, so they said they'd deliver today. That's missed as well. According to the app I can get a refund from tomorrow for a failed delivery. I'd really have preferred getting what I paid for. It's not like a $2 junk gadget, how does a flippin' $1355.99 laptop get "lost in the mail"!

Thanks OP. Got OW price match for $1288.15

Priced matched at OW for kid starting new school next year, PERFECT
Thank you, OP.
Price beat at $1,279.65 at OW. Then used multiple ultimate gift cards with 10% discount and scan my Onepass membership barcode for 5x FB pts. I also received an offer from Flybuys for extra 5x FB in the account. Will go overseas within a month so another $116.3 off from TRS.
Total final price: $1,279.65×0.9×0.95(5x onepass pts and 5x FB pts) - $116.3 GST from TRS
=$977.8
That is best stacking I can get.

Is there anywhere selling Ultimate gift card with %10 now?

Same question… seems like only 5% off at Big W

There were a few promo around Black Friday before. Maybe there will be another one by boxing day.

Double check your Onepass 5 x FB points because I got the same thing but mine said only for online purchases which means you can’t use all your gift cards.

My bad. Did not read the conditions thoroughly.

I was told by OW shop there’s no model number included in Amazon product page so they refused to price match. I’ve checked with their manager and was told the same story. I know this is a bullshit as they obviously know it’s the same product, but how did you guys make this? Try another shop or call them?

I just got hit with the same thing, even showed them the UPN matched. There was only one other shop in Perth with the colour in stock and too far to drive, so settled for a price match at JB. You win this round OW

What were they expecting you to match it to, if not the UPN?

They tried to wiggle out of my pricematch too. "That's an Amazon Prime deal", it wasn't. Then they stated it was a different model number, it wasn't. I had to prove that the model # matched between Amazon's listing, and theirs.

Bro, there absolutely is a model number on this listing, and yes, it matches the model they sell at OW.
In the 'item details' section:
Model Number MW123X/A

Bro, why don't you use Digidirect to price match? It's also cheaper.

Believe me I looked there. Even went website and desktop mode on the phone. Double checked now as well & still can't see it. Super weird.

Bro, why don't you use Digidirect to price match? It's also cheaper.

I tried that also, but they don't have any in stock, it's back order.
I'm not very good at this Ozbargain thing clearly
thanks, did price match at JB and used 10% GC from https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/939393 to get it for $1221

Can you share the receipt pls?

waiting for 15 inch to go on sale

Has deal finished? Or am I confused? 5% off $1597

seems like it. Glad I went to OW to get a price quote, will purchase this Fri/Sat and claim TRS.

Was still up last night but now showing $1,597.00.

Can we use the below to request a price beat from officeworks.
