Yeah, but at least the dough is light and fluffy. Vilis is awful (it's like they freeze & defrost their cakes), and since Balfours was sold off, their cakes' dough is either chewy as, or they use a regular roll, chuck some cream in it and call it a kitchener bun (gross).
There are loads of smaller bakeries. My fave being the Port Elliot bakery (even if it's a hell of drive). There's also Pik A Pie at Meadows. Haven't been to the four you mentioned but will seek them out and try them.
