Well reviewed autonomous mower, with no boundary wire or RTK.

I went through 3 months of a consumer law battle with JB Hi-Fi with my last robot mower (ECOVACS Goat). I was told I would have to send it away three times before they could consider a replacement. Never again.

Mowing is the easy part. It's the trimming, hedging and cleaning that (profanity) me over every week as I get older and older.

    • +9

No no no. Starting a petrol mower is the hard part

I miss my old Ryobi mower with Subaru engine , started first pull every time, was a beast.

      • +2

No shed should be without a can of start ya bastard. But honestly even the cheapest Chinese engines seem to pull over pretty easily these days

      • Good thing I invested in a dual battery mower 6 years ago. Have not felt that pain in my back for a while.

      • Or my b&s, my grandma can start it

      Powerful Edge Trimming Technology

Say goodbye to edge trimming issues, thanks to our advanced ride-on edge technology that ensures every inch of grass is mowed.

    • It is the equivalent of Robot vacuums, reduces the amount of frequency/time required to do X.

In my case, 80-90% of my lawn is done, I only need to do edging twice a month in summer.
      Hedges is once a quarter.

Cleaning is a never ending task though :( Hit it with a rake + blower into a big pile.

Chat GPTed this vs Segway Navimow i108A.
    Almost same same reviews.

  • I'd buy from a proper mower brand before I would buy this.

  • Do these not get nicked? I like the concept of a robo mower, but would be too scared to use these on publically accessible lawns

    • +1

I’ve had one in my backyard for 5 years (GOAT). Been super reliable (but obviously not out the front!). If I were using one out front, I’d want a night time feature which this Eufy doesn’t have.

      • +7

TBF stealing a goat would be pretty bloody difficult.

    • Ive had a Landroid in my backyard for about 4yrs. Still mow the front.

Saves me a good chunk of time. Still need to mow the bits around the plants and edges, but the robot gets about 80-90% of the grass

I've been using the mamotion Yuka mini for the past 4 weeks and it's pretty good. I don't really understand the hate against the RTK station. You can put it anywhere you like and you need a station to charge the mower anyways. The rtk connects straight to the charging pad.

For 1250 I'm very impressed it can now in straight lines and even fancy shapes. But I wouldn't pay 2000 for a mower.

    • Yeah I agree. You got the 500 on sale in Amazon? I missed out.

These will only last about 5 years in the harsh aussie sun/cold winters etc. You can calculate the monthly cost using that.

  • Tempting!

I live in an apartment so no comment on its ability, but just wanna flag that these robomowers look exactly like the killer robots in the classic horror, Chopping Mall. Pure cinema

  • Uses navigation the type of Computer Vision (check for newer reviews it used to have issues with flowerbeds/lawn patches, its better the GPS but still not great, just wait till the LIDAR ones come in to Australia. A3000 Goat seems to have the best reviews (LIDAR) but as OP has stated its a USA based company with limited support in Australia (like just about everything).

  • Stick with the $800 Worx ones.

They are quiet, work at night and sturdy as. Battery swaps out like any tool too.

    • +1

For the common plebs yes. Downside is that silly perimeter wire, if damaged will cause hours of pain to find the break and repair.

  • +5

I am a stay at home Dad, the whole point of mowing is to get a break from the wife and kids. Take as long as possible too.

  • +3

I've owned this mower for over a year. This is simply a eufy label of a brand called TerraMow (mine is the Terramow s800) it works great and I got it from a Kickstarter for like $1200 ~1.5 years ago. I think the eufy app for this is just a white label on the Terra mow app.

TerraMow has a newer version of this on their website, but looks like it's not shipping to Australia.

    AMA if interested.

    • Do you reckon it could do both front and back yard joined by a narrow (600mm wide) strip of grass (30m long)? I had a perimeter wire one for a year and it could do it in theory but not in practice.

      • Yep, it could. I had a narrow strip similar on my 800sqm yard

    • How's the quality of the cut? How high do you cut? Can it cut stripes? Thanks.

      • Great quality - can customize cut hight. Does stripes too.

  • When can we have a shave-while-u-sleep Robot Lawn Mower? Are we all moving to appartments already?

  • As a mammotion yuka mini owner… I recommend GPS based positioning.

    • Can you elaborate? Is the RTK no good?

I've got the Dreame A1 Pro, and the lidar navigation is phenomenal. No wires, GPS or RTK

      • +1

Look no comment on the Dreame A1 Pro, but overall I recommend the Mammotion Yuka Mini. I have about ~300 sq/m (backyard). I don't mow my lawn anymore and ONLY do edges with a Whipper snipper.

Why GPS? GPS is relatively accurate and Lidarr purely alone I cannot trust. That's just my subjective opinion.
I have an awkward yard and perimeter wire is out of the question.

I've had my Yuka mini since Feb 2025? And have only mowed my lawn 2-4 times to pick up excessive pin-needles which I now just rake.

Is the Yuka Mini perfect? No, definitely not.

I have to 'save' it once every 2 weeks. I still need to do edges. The initial set-up process was annoying as I have a lot of tree/foilage that blocks my LOS to GPS.
But the pros are: In summer, I save 60 mins a week to spend with the family. I'm not sweating out there and actually have time to do edges when I get to them which takes me about 5-10 mins! I do edging once-twice a month in summer.

Is the cut better than my ego mower? Nope. Is it good enough? Definitely.

For $1.6KAUD, I can only recommend it especially if you have little ones + a backyard with less foilage/relative LOS to sky.

7/10 from me. I would buy it again.

        • +1

Thanks man. Great review. My concern is that the cut is not perfect. I am cut perfectionist…. ;) I have a friend who is testing atm. I am happy to wait. Yuka 500 was $1299 on amazon at one stage….great deal.

          • @Naigrabzo: Don't get your hopes up. Its a machine/robot. The Luba does get a better cut and patterning due to the tread/drive + cutting disc.

But my lawn is buffalo so your mileage may vary!

            • @ozbargainhunter400: yeah Buffalo might be more robust. I have 9cm Fescue/Blue grass. I have heard that taller grasses are harder for the robots. Because I want perfection, it's been harder for me to make the switch…. Eventually though.

IMO, GPS combined with LIDAR and vision would be perfect.

Yuka 2000 looks good as well with dual cutting discs… I reckon the vision is a gimmick on that one however.

  • is Lawn Mower for a 50-60 sqm grass an overkill?
