At least we've still got JV!

@Merlict: Someone needs to pay for a mallow penalty video just like the jv penalty box video

A Christmas miracle for us all

FYI, motherboard is proprietary format. It uses SODIMM for RAM and the CPU is BGA 2114 Arrow Lake laptop chip, up to 160 watts. Probably will be a bit tricky to upgrade as we don't know if the CPU is soldered down using Ball Grid array. Maybe even impossible to upgrade if the BIOS doesn't recognize newer chips.

thanks for update. very professional comment, is this a good enough setup for 3-5 yrs ?

      • +3

Decent up to 1440p gaming ;)

        • +2

RTX 5070 12GB will be the first thing needing to be changed if this is to be a gaming only PC. " so when you do upgrade in 3-4 years time the storage will be the only thing making it over into the new PC

          I have 3 AM5 PC's with Aliexpress $200 Ryzen 7700 CPU's with 64, 48 and 32Gb's of DDR5 6000 CL30 in each

When Zen6 and maybe Zen7 come out all 3 will be an easy CPU and GPU only upgrade.. :) planing for the future is good and i'm lucky to have avoided the ram price hikes..

I'm also the person who posted heaps of RAM deals on here over the years.. people ignored them as it was just RAM :) lol

      • +2

THIS is a good enough PC. When upgrading you can reuse only the storage :)

      • Good enough setup until the warranty runs out and then your stuck with a $2700 non upgradeable system…

    • +3

So it is a de-portabled laptop into a desktop, selling for a premium…

      • Basically an ugly iMac 😂

    • VERY doubtful they'll update the BIOS for newer chips

    48Gb RAM, in this economy?

    • No doubt this manufacturer obtained the RAM chips from a stockpile before the supply crash while it was cheap. Otherwise this PC would be well over 3 grand.

      • +2

SODIM ram is probably running at like CL52

        • 4800 cl999999

      • Yeah. Lenovo stockpiled enough memory to last them until end of next year

Lenovo stockpiles RAM as prices skyrocket, reportedly has enough inventory to last through 2026 — memory stock claimed to be 50% higher than usual to fight pricing shock

Unfortunately for people who are into building PC's or running a business building PC's (techfast etc) they don't have the ability to stockpile for a year in advance so they're going to have to pay the inflated market price for memory and SSD.

Samsung just announced they are halting the manufacture of SATA-based SSD's. Which is also bad news.

Guess It's time for OEM prebuilt gaming desktops to shine again, like the way it was during the GPU shortage era.

        • I had this same thought when I read the news about ram and ssd. I think prebuilts and laptops would definitely shine as these companies would have more leverage just like what Lenovo did

    • do you think you could buy, then in a few months sell the ram in 8gb chunks and make back $2k??

      • almost feels like 2020 GPU prices where I bought a prebuild 3600/3080 for $2k and then sell the GPU for the same amount months later.

The RAM is THICC on this one.

Guys good news, 200 bucks less in store negotiation which makes the deal at 2500 including delivery!!

    • How did you negotiate? Every time when I asked "is there any special price or gift for me?", I got nothing.

      • +2

i will inquire 20min product details, let the sales feel he is very professinal and hit him hard when i said i will order today with your best price. he/she will weight the half hour effort and try to catch me at the end.

        • Wow that is really a good negotiate technique. Thanks for sharing and I will keep it in mind and try it next time.

    • +3

      WTF, why?

    • +1

Why ? its the same dribble on every post,

      Bad deal, better deals elsewhere…

      4060 blah blah blah

  • mash saved 200 and order completed :)

Unless you absolutely need something right now. Try to hold off buying. There will be a time when the market normalises. Whether it's gpu, ram or cpu process that go erratic, they will eventually stabilise.. part of me feels like they are testing the waters to see if consumers will bite.

    • Expect/plan for 2027, and possibly late 2027.

      • Everyone said the same about SSD when 0s5 came out. I literally picked up a firecuda 530 2tb for 250 odd.. everyone was paying circ. $500 6 months earlier.. they will stabilise.

      • are you talking about project 2026? the great reset?

    • end of 2026 maybe

    • Yeah exactly. My xbox and steam deck will struggle to run anything new that comes out if at all, but there's still plenty of excellent games I haven't played because I'm always hopping on the newest thing that comes out. Hopefully by black friday 2027 I can get a good deal if not EOFY 2028.

  • Looks pretty good for branded PC ! Intel core ultra is also good for workstation productivity ! And 1440p this will be pretty descent ! 48GB ram that’s pretty odd lol

  • Seems like laptop setting for CPU and ram, desk video card though.

    • it is though….

Not gonna downvote because prices are climbing the way they are and that's out of all of our control, but this really isn't a deal for a 5070 system. Hold on if you can. TF had a 32gb/1tb/5080 for about $100 more just 2 months ago. (I know, not exactly apples to apples, but still.) I wouldn't buy unless absolutely necessary at the moment

Hopefully the HP eBay Store will run another better deal with a sale, a 20% off coupon, and a discounted gift card. At least with HP, they use a standard desktop CPU that can be reused. Prices are better, and if something goes wrong, you can replace the motherboard (and maybe case/cooler) and reuse the rest of the parts.
