This is a phenomenal game. For something that was released in 2010, it still holds strong. It pretty much runs at a flawless locked 60fps with zero stuttering by the way.

If you're interested in some gameplay, watch SwitchUp's review here: Video

The code in a box upgrade path is the best way.

Crazy when they announced the upgrade, on GG.deals for days, RDR was the most purchased game. At it's full 69.95 RRP.

    Nuts.

Even funnier is that you can buy that now, and get the upgrade for $0 too…but if you want to buy the standalone switch 2 version on eshop it's 74.95 lmao

  • Its worth every penny.

  • Wonder if Rockstar are trying to drum up some positive press with all the union-busting allegations and GTA6 delays?

Either way, it's a win for us, haha!

  • Does the upgrade make a big difference if you only have the original Switch OLED?

I absolutely love this game and I have the X360 disc version; the last time I played it was on my Xbox One. I've resisted getting a hand-held version of this game because I still believe playing it on a big screen is the best way to experience this game. Now that I have an XS1 and a Switch OLED, I'm really tempted at getting the upgraded version but conflicted as to which version I should get.

The upgrade is for the Switch 2, it isn't for the original Switch.

      • Thank you - looks like the updated XS1 digital version would be the best bang for buck for me then.
