Thanks OP, I really enjoyed the first couple of books in Joshua James’ Lucky's Marines series and have been planning to go back to finish the series.

really liked the Luckys Marines series on kindle. Listening to it as an audiobook a year later and it still goes good.

      Not AI slop. A review:

Old-fashioned SciFi, with all the bells & whistles – Fun.

Reviewed in the United States on 16 July 2023

The authors say this is old-time SciFi, and they are indeed correct. This is a well written, just-plain-science fiction story. The heroes can survive almost anything, the villeins (well, many of them) blow up on a regular basis. That’s kind of how it went in early stories. Of course, no real attempt to try to trace the real science of today into the future. That is part of the appeal of the ‘old-fashioned’ idea. I enjoyed the series – all 9 books. Each story (book) was fully packed and reasonably self-contained. All of them actually ended (no cliff-hangers), but did depend on the previous story to be fully appreciated. Writing style if very good, plenty of action and really strong character development. For me, this was an entertaining, easy to read story. Escapism at its best.

I'd agree with that review. I see it as solid "pulp sci-fi" reading.

I'm not going to talk someones ear off about how great the books are, but I enjoyed the time I spent reading them. Say 7/10 on average?
