MyCard Premier Credit Card: 110,000 Bonus Velocity Points with $8,000 Spend in 90 Days, $300 Annual Fee @ MyCard

431

Not sure if it is a repeat, but mycard is now back online and is offering 100k Velocity for $300 annual fee.

Doesnt look like there is any exclusion, other than must be a new application and cannot be transferred from another mycard product.

I value Velocity at 1 cents per points so this is net gain of $800.

Looks like its better than NAB's own credit card deal.

To be eligible to receive 110,000 bonus Velocity Points (automatically redeemed from 220,000 bonus MyCard Reward Points), you must apply for a new MyCard Premier Credit Card before the offer is withdrawn spend a minimum of $8,000 on eligible purchases using your new Card within 90 days from approval, and enrol into Autoredemption for Velocity with your Velocity membership number via Online Servicing.

Eligible purchases exclude Cash Advances, Balance Transfers, Special Promotions, interest and fees. Any refunds and Chargebacks on purchases will also be excluded and will not form part of the spend criteria. You will receive an email from us up to 90 days after you have met the spend criteria with information on how to enrol in Autoredemption with your Velocity membership number.

220,000 bonus MyCard Reward Points (equivalent to 110,000 Velocity Points) will be credited to your MyCard Rewards Balance within 2 months of meeting the spend criteria and automatically transferred to Velocity provided you have enrolled in Autoredemption.

Once transferred, it may take up to 1 month for the Velocity Points to appear in your Velocity account. Your MyCard Premier Account must remain open and in good standing (for example – your account is not in default, suspended or closed), for the bonus MyCard Reward Points to be awarded and transferred. Membership of Velocity Frequent Flyer and ensuring your Velocity account is valid as at the date of transfer is your responsibility.

  • I don't think MyCard do any spending offers (I haven't seen any since they converted from Citi)

  • is this a new type of card? haven't seen this show up in OzB before

    • Citi's new brand

    • Nab bought citi (in Australia) and have stopped using the Citibank name, this is that

      • thanks - just had a go. they may not have properly QA tested their application portal. Can't get past ID verfication (Aussie passport, state issued driver licence - just one needs to be "verified" by their system - no dice) - after 3-4 tries, they close the whole application and you can't go ahead. Can't get back in either - bye bye sensitive data already submitted.

Citi (imo) had the worst credit cart account portal, tied with Virgin Money. Doesn't look like the product has improved the tech side by any means.

        • When I was with Qantas Money (when owned by Citi) it was very bad interface as well.

      • What if you currently hold a Citibank card or recently closed one, is there an exclusion period, as I don't see any ?

        • I don't know if Mycard has changed the policy, but Citi had no formal exclusion policy - however, in practice when I spoke to their customer service team, they said you could get an automatic rejection if you had applied/rejected within 90 days (that's not the same as closed within 90 days tho).

  • I couldn't find anything, but are there any restrictions if you've previously held a Citi card in the past xx months to be eligible for the bonus points?

    • Not that I've seen. Only seems to exclude itself from itself as below. This is typically where they'd write the exclusion within a 12-month period.

"This offer is not available when closing or transferring from another MyCard branded credit card account or in conjunction with any other MyCard branded credit card offer."

      • So technically if I have a Citi card which has now converted to MyCard. If I cancel it…. I should be able to get bonus points?

    • No restriction. I had a look as well.

  • Worth noting there's also 100k Qantas points available for $350.

    • unfortunately, only 70k upfront and the other 30k after 12 months with the card (meaning another annual fee)

  • not sure if it is just me, but they failed to verify neither my licence nor my passport.

    • Same here. Tried to restart the application but still no succeed.

  • nice

  • I got through the full application all the way to the end, had to use my DL and passport for ID verification.

    • same here, i added both of them instead of trying one after the other, because it seems some people had trouble with that method. after adding them both, i was successfully verified on the first attempt.

  • Slightly off-topic but I've been on a card hunt and noticed an improved offer for an Amex velocity platinum of 80k points + $200 statement credit whilst booking a VA flight (vs the 60k points offered via the amex website) only after I got my booking ref a link appeared to this.

    • Do you have a link to this offer?

      • The link wont work unless youve made a booking. Just book a fully refundable business one way somewhere, along the booking process an amex ad will display.

  • Is there restrictions for me using this card with Sniip to Bpay my day to day CC off to reach the spend requirement?

    • Usually apps like sniip (and others) recognise you are paying to a financial institution and don't allow it.

    • I used Sniip and got full points and it counted towards spend criteria.

  • worst site.. cant move past 2 screens after 3 attempts. They really make you earn the points hard :)

  • Does government spend (e.g., council rates, car rego) count towards min spend criteria? Usually government spend is excluded, but I can’t see anything about that with this credit card

    • I dont think even NAB knows, maybe charge like $10 once you have the card and report back if it earns points?

      • $8k min spend in 90 days might be difficult to reach without govt spend for me.

        • you can claim 0% rebate for your health insurance premium so you can pay more and get the difference back in tax time. you can also prepay up to 18 months as well

    • I too would like to know this. If anyone has tried government spend and received/not received bonus points, this please pass this information on.

  • I don't fly Virgin, can you convert to gift cards via Velocity?

    • You can fly with SQ UA and others. Doesnt have to be VA

Yes you can get gift cards or kettles.

  • Clearly something wrong with their system:

    "We couldn't verify your identity
Unfortunately we are unable to progress with your application."

    • I tried to resolve the online verification issue by phone and by using their online chat. I then lodged a formal complaint. They obviously have zero interest in trying to fix the confirmed issue. As a result I'm in limbo with my application:

      "My understanding of your complaint
I understand how frustrating and disappointing this experience has been for you. You’ve tried to apply for a MyCard credit card online, but the application stopped at the identity verification stage despite you providing both your NSW driver licence and Australian passport. Given you already bank with NAB, it’s understandably confusing and concerning that the system couldn’t verify you. You also tried to contact us through online chat without getting a response, which has added to your frustration. What you’re really looking for is a clear explanation and a practical way to move forward with your application.

What did I find as a result of my investigation?
I reviewed your concerns and contacted our Credit Acceptance team, who manage credit card applications. I spoke with a specialist who confirmed that your application was not completed due to an identity verification issue.

I also checked this internally and can see that there is currently a known system issue affecting some online credit card applications at the identity verification stage. This means customers may receive the message that their identity cannot be verified, even when valid documents are provided.

Because of our legal and regulatory obligations, we’re unable to provide financial products or services unless identity checks are completed successfully. At this stage, the system issue is preventing that from happening. Our teams are working on a fix, however there is no confirmed timeframe yet for when this will be resolved.

I also acknowledge your feedback about the online chat service not responding. I appreciate how unhelpful that would have felt when you were already stuck in the process.

      Our response to your complaint
I’m sorry for the inconvenience and frustration this situation has caused you. At the moment, because of the system issue and the lack of a confirmed resolution date, we’re unfortunately unable to progress or resubmit your online credit card application.

While I know this isn’t the outcome you were hoping for, your feedback is important and helps us understand the real impact these issues have on customers. Once the system issue is resolved, you may be able to reattempt your application online.

If you have any questions about this outcome, you can get in touch with me via 1300 308 935 or email customerresolutions@mycard.com.au with your reference number XXXXXXXXXXXX

We are committed to resolving your concerns with you directly.

If you’re not comfortable with this, you can choose to take your complaint to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA). There may be a time limit in contacting AFCA – so get in touch with them promptly or check their website for more information."

      • I'm in the exact same situation:
        "We couldn't verify your identity
Unfortunately we are unable to progress with your application."

Customer service fed me the same response you got, no way to verify, and can't be a customer without verification. I haven't gone to log a complaint yet, but seeing yours it seems it won't help anyway, real shame as this is great deal and would love to sign up.

        • Did you get this resolved?

          • @LukyTom: Logged a complaint and their official investigation just repeated the same BS as DrRalph above. I gave up, didn't bother with AFCA. Hopefully they fix it one day, shame because this is a great churner, but useless if you can't apply.

    • I got the same error applying for a Coles Mastercard today, so they've still not fixed it. I assume a problem with the white-labelled NAB system. Very frustrating.

  • Anyone receive any response? tried calling them and online chat but no response..

    • Same.

  • Best way to pay your tax bill to get the bonus points? Zip still work or better alternative?

  • Trying to apply. Get the following error. Not sure if this is because i had my last citi card closed about 11 months back.
    //
    Unable to continue
You may already be an existing MyCard Credit Cards customer (primary or additional cardholder).
    //

    • This happened to me too. You’ll have been given a My Card user ID attached to your Citi profile but likely never told what it was. That happened to me - similar situation to you where I previously had Citi card but not at the time of the transition to MyCard in November. If you call MyCard they can tell you what it is (8 digit number) and then you log in to apply.

      • i called them… it was an incredibly frustrating experience

    • Unfortunately the process is still seemingly cooked for those who were a recent enough Citi credit card holder prior to the MyCard transition - have been hit with the "Unable to continue - You may already be an existing MyCard Credit Cards customer (primary or additional cardholder)." Had the Citi Premier until March 2025 when I cancelled it then.

Have called twice now asking for this supposed user ID that I have though both times I was told they couldn't provide it to me because I have no current/active accounts to verify me against - what am I supposed to do in that case? For anyone in a similar boat that would mean the whole thing would be effectively bricked for old Citi holders.

      • I ran into the same issue, called them, they provided me with my user ID without issues.

        • Update: turns out you can get that error if you run into the ID verification issues that plenty of others have reported, I didn't actually have a MyCard user ID in the system. Have received the following email below after escalating via the complaint form (edited to remove personal references):

          Dear crossgun,

We have finalised our investigation of your complaint

Thank you for your patience while I worked to investigate your concerns, as submitted on Monday, 13 April, 2026.

          My understanding of your complaint

Thank you for contacting us. We understand how frustrating it can be to encounter difficulties while completing an application, and we appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention.

We have reviewed your concern regarding the error message indicating that you may already be an existing customer. Based on our records, your previous Citi account was successfully closed in March 2025, prior to the migration to MyCard. As the account was closed before the migration occurred, no MyCard user ID or username was generated for your former profile. For this reason, we are unable to provide a username associated with that account.

We also liaised with our Credit Team to further investigate the issue you experienced. While the error message suggests an existing customer profile, our system indicates that the application could not be processed at this time due to the inability to complete identity verification requirements.

As a next step, you may wish to attempt submitting a new application using a different device. Should you encounter the same issue and remain unable to proceed, this would indicate that you are not eligible to apply at this time.

We appreciate your understanding and sincerely regret any inconvenience this situation may have caused. If you have any further questions or require clarification, please feel free to reply to this email, and we will be happy to assist you.

If you have any questions about this outcome, you can get in touch with me via 1300 308 935 or email customerresolutions@mycard.com.au with your reference number COM-XXXXXXX.

We are committed to resolving your concerns with you directly.

If you’re not comfortable with this, you can choose to take your complaint to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA). There may be a time limit in contacting AFCA – so get in touch with them promptly or check their website for more information.

For further context, I applied for this card originally at the start of March 2026 and got stuffed by the ID verification not working then - I then attempted to reapply now in April once the 30 days expiry on the first application kicked in. I have sinced tried again using a new email/mobile number but their system still has me flagged since all the other personal details are the same and it gave the same "already existing MyCard customer" error. Looks like I've probably been locked out for a while from applying.

Damn shame too, I have a solar battery install next month which would have taken care of the spend easily. Looks like I'll have to head elsewhere but this was the one of the only decent options left since I'm still in the exclusion period for most other offers.

          • @crossgun: Dam, this issue is still ongoing without a solution. What is happening! Can't believe this is a thing in modern day banking lol.

  • Do MyCard have digital version that can use before the physical card? Including lounge activation?

    • Yes, they do. You can add to mobile wallet, and see card details, inside the app.

      • I added my card to Google wallet but wasn't able to activate it since I need the CVC from the physical card

Edit: Oh I saw the temporary CVV in the card details, I'll try that instead

        • I’m not quite sure with Android sorry, for iPhone at least there is an option within the app to add the card to Apple Pay.

  • Has anyone requested an annual fee refund when cancelling this card or a previous Citi card? Any success? The Citi annual fees have always dissuaded me from applying.

    • same question, did you get annual fee refund?

  • Does anyone else’s app say that they can’t show the rewards point balance? It’s said that for me from day one all the way until now.

  • I had to lodge transaction dispute on MyCard(previously Citibank) and there was no way to do it online expect calling them.

Spent 1 hour explaining the dispute to 2 different representatives. Their customer service team has no clue and it appeared I was talking to 10 year old and had to explain at least 8 times across both.

Just a warning post to anyone who may be lodging a transaction dispute in future.

  • I just applied and was immediately declined - can anyone with knowledge in this area let me know why?

    Salary $120K ($84K after tax)
    Monthly expenses $4.5K
    Rent is $650/week
    No debt
Credit reporting score is 'excellent' according to Experian
Have held multiple credit cards before with no issues.

    WTF NAB?

    • Yeah it’s because your expenses is crazy high vs what you earn. Therefore you’re considered a high risk to the bank.

    • can anyone with knowledge in this area let me know why?

      yep, expenses are too high.

My expenses are just 1/2 of your (with higher income than your) and never have any problem with knock back - except from the Humm90 group, they don't like churners.

      • I'm an idiot and accidentally submitted the total expenses for both my partner and I instead of just mine, so my expenses are actually half what I've listed above.

Do you know if you can re-apply under the same name, or if I've cooked it completely with this CC provider?

        • My experience is to reapply in 3-6 months time

  • Anyone resolve the issue with ID verification? It's coming up with error attempting to verify ID

    • Same, had a chat with support, they said i should get an email within 24-28 (sic) hours, and it should advise how to continue with the application. It's been 40 hours…

    • i think i did "Forgot your user ID", since i already had an account with Citibank, then i got an email confirming my ID. then a forgot your password to create a new password.
      Good luck

  • I've got my application in a week ago but haven't heard anything, how long do they take to process applications?

  • Does anyone know how to set up auto redemption? The set up page on the MyCard rewards portal just mentions auto redemption, but I can't remember if they asked for my Velocity number during the application process.

    • Did you figure it out? They didn't ask for my Velocity number during the application process, so also trying to figure out how to set up auto redemption.

      • On the rewards portal (accessed via your points total on the app/website), head to the points transfers area, and then set up auto redemption.

Now in a very counterintuitive process, click add to cart and then check out. You'll be then presented with the screen to enter your Velocity number.

        • very horrible, difficult to confirm it as well

        • Agreed, terrible process but does not surprise me. Has anyone got their points yet?

  • Got rejected by Amex, so decided to apply for this today. Got approved an hour later.

    • Did you apply within same month?
I just got the amex rejection (after waiting 19 months), today by calling them after applying yesterday. Tempted to just apply for this now.

      • Yes, applied within same week as amex.

  • Has anyone received their bonus points from this?

    • Not yet.
      Met requirements about 2weeks ago.

    • Yes.

      • How long after you met the 8k spend did you get your points?

Still waiting for my points. Met my min spend during 2nd statement and have paid my 2nd statement, still no points.

Now in my 3rd statement period.

        • Mine took 3 weeks, and they landed before my 3rd statement did.

          • @JR63: got my points today, just checked!

  • For the Priority Pass for this card its asking for an invitation code. Does anyone know where to get it?

  • FYI: CTPRM331

    • Not sure why you got negged, but this is helpful, thanks!

  • slightly unethical but anyone know if it is possible to meet the minimum spend by booking a flexible refundable hotel or flight booking, then refunding it the next month? i guess that depends whether they give the points in the first statement immediately after meeting the spend

asking because i'm not sure i can meet the 8k spend in 90 days…

  • Finally got the 220,000 points after meeting eligibility part way through the 2nd month. I'm in my 3rd statement period now.

Points landed 3 days after 2nd statement payment was due.

Is it safe to cancel the auto redemption and transfer during May when Velocity run their bonus 15/20% transfer promotion?

    • Good question…

      • should be safe, they cant reverse the points now

    • Any insight on whether government spend gets points? Pay your water bill or car rego for OzB's sake?!

      • Water bill is not gov.

        • State dependent I think - some are privatised, others aren't. Perhaps best not to test with something grey

      • paid some transport fines to department of transport, didn't get any points. so not counted.

    • Hey did you manage to prevent teh auto redemption? Just got my points too. How do you cancel auto redemption?

      • when did you get your points?

i've met my $8000 spend within my 2nd statement period.
received my 2nd statement on March 7th, but didn't get the 220,000 points in my account.

        • Not sure exactly when, but i checked yesterday and they were there, 2nd statement came on 17 feb.

          • @cathalm8: did you receive the 220,000 points after the 2nd statement due date?
            still waiting for my points…

    • also wonder the same question, can we cancel auto redemption and wait for a transfer promotion?

  • Met with the same issues with ID verification. Guess I'm banned now too.
