[PC, Steam] Kingdom Come: Deliverance II $44.97 (50% off) @ Steam

740

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is my game of the year for 2025

A thrilling story-driven action RPG, with a rich open world, set in 15th century Medieval Europe. Experience the ultimate medieval adventure - through the eyes of young Henry.

This game features a beautiful large open world to explore with the help of your trusty steed full of historical Medieval landmarks in the Kingdom of Bohemia. As someone who has visited Czechia during the 21st century not 15th century. Warhorse Studios did a great job capturing the feel of Czechia’s countryside. Many fans have visited locations from the game and compared them with real life.

The games script has over 2.2 million words, making it the longest script in video game history .. .

  • Can someone make a consolidated steam sale list

    • +4

There would be so many to list. There are dozens of exceptional games that are "overwhelmingly positive" with ATL pricing.

    • Best way is to save a list of games like to play and wait for sales
      Steamdb however has historic pricing

I think this was already on sale, I bought it a few days ago.

Be warned IMO it's one of my biggest ever gaming disappointments so far, as somebody who liked the first game but thought this would be an improvement on its weaknesses. It feels directionless so far and pretty much just just extra/worse story content tacked onto the first game with no changes and no fun adventure from starting at zero. First google result on the subreddit for the game had pretty strong agreement from fans too, it seems very overhyped: https://www.reddit.com/r/kingdomcome/comments/1in4qvq/is_kcd…

What really gets me is that not only does it have the massive flaw of the first game where every time you pick flowers you have to watch a long animation, and the flowers are absolutely everywhere you walk and easily the best way to make money, they also removed the skill you get in the first game where you can pick up a large radius of flowers around you in one animation, so now you have to pick each one up individually.

I'm 8 hours in so far and have enjoyed about 20 minutes of it.

Maybe a flower simulator game might be more to your liking?

      • Games like Stardew Valley make foraging far more exciting, despite being so incredibly simple, because the creator actually understands how to pace it rather than dropping infinite resources on the map every inch you step with long animation times to interact with each part. Alchemy in Kingdom Come might actually be kind of fun if resources were hard to come by and it was a rare thing you do. Instead you walk down a path and watch an animation 50 times to pick up flowers, then end up with enough to make 200 potions, all of which requires watching the same slow animations over and over.

If Starfield gets shit for its loading screens and cockpit animations, Kingdom Come does as well. I tolerated it in the first game since it's unique and interesting at first, but from all the praise thought they'd have come up with some better solutions in the sequel. Instead it's somehow more poorly paced.

I would just install the mods that make it less tedious. Flower picking is one I used

Yep I did that yesterday right before posting this, though I'd also nearly maxed out the survival skill before even leaving the first town and was annoyed with the skills still being incredibly unbalanced and over too quickly like the first game, which I thought they surely would have improved.

    • You pick multiple flowers in one go by default.

Not sure if we’re playing the same game but that’s how it behaves for me and I am playing on Hardcore!

      Edit:

In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 (KCD2), picking multiple flowers at once happens as you level up your Herbalism/Survival skill, allowing you to collect from a larger radius with each squat animation, making the process faster and more efficient for leveling strength and earning money.

      • That's a small positive in a very large negative with tedious animations and poorly paced gameplay. Just like in the first game I've maxed out a skill in like an hour or two, and I thought they would have improved on these huge weaknesses from the first game, but it's exactly the same.

Thank God someone else thinks this as well. I thought it was just me. I wanted to like the game but just couldn't get into it. I played for a couple of hours and found everything about this game pretty tedious.
The story and acting looked pretty cool (I never played the original) but the combat feels so awkward. You spend the first hour running away from some bandits and fighting them with no weapons. Then I spent half an hour picking flowers and making some potions for the alchemy tutorial. I'll give this another go at some point, I'm sure it gets better later.

    • One of the best of 2025 for me!

    • It’s certainly not overhyped, it’s better in every way over the first game. Opinions are subjective, but the majority consensus is it’s one of the best TPG’s ever made

      • 8 hours in and it's certainly not better in pacing or writing. Outside of the main quest the writing and immersion and even general sense of wtf is even going on are a huge step down so far. And the main quest is only really sort of entertaining as a mocapped janky movie in a video game engine, which isn't really a positive in a game in terms of actually playing, except in the rare exception such as Bioware back in the day where they made the conversation choices interesting enough gameplay that those parts mattered.

I got up to the part where you are trying to save your mate from jail. That is one of the worst gaming experiences I've ever had. Then after that there was immediate quest trying to get rid of ghosts from the fireplaces. Just ran around for an hour in circles trying to find the 8th fireplace. Never played it again.
