With the extra 2Ah this actually looks like an absolutely ripper deal. The 4Ah is realistically the absolute smallest you'd want to be using on a mower (my similar Ego has a 7.5 that I'll get through roughly half of in a full mow). Besides that this is an extremely capable set.

    • Yeah keep in mind if you’re not in the eco you’re going to want more batteries depending on the size of your lawn and whether you want to mow + snip + hedge

  • 60v is a lot of power!

  • So the string trimmer is the multi tool - looks like a standalone trimmer in the pic. (i.e. multi tool with string trimmer, hedge trimmer & pole saw). Looks like a good deal

  • Rumours are, they're not surviving right. This may be a "dispose of stock now" type sale. They've lost to both EGO but more to the likes or Makita, Milwaukee and DeWalt doing garden stuff that tradies own the batteries for.

Buy knowing that likely in 12-24 months warranty is gone.

    • How do you validate this amazing story? Greenworks are massive is USA so I'm not sure about loosing. But would love to hear of some facts…

They are down 30% YoY on sales, private equity won't buy them despite being on market, they're discounting heavier than ever, the category has grown >20% in the last year globally and Greenworks has lost 11% market share.

Add in no profit, burning cash, burn rate is less than 12 months.

It'd make sense for a larger brand to buy them for sure, and may continue it. But reality is, no differentiation, declining sales, eroded margins due to desperate prometons like 50% off and competitors eating your market.

What you're saying is along the lines of "VW Make EV Cars, I'm sure they're safe compared to Chinese EVs". Whilst being the worlds most indebted company and failing miserably. Its simply time. Greenworks is not VW though, doesn't have 80 years of heritage and loyalty.

        Good luck with them :p

I have this from last year, and it’s rock solid and powerful. The kit does contain the multi pole and then the various adaptors for chainsaw, hedge trimmer etc

    • I also bought this kit 6 months ago. Fully converted to electric and this kit has all the bits and power to do almost everything.
I opted for the Extra 2ah battery instead of the edger.
Mower is steel deck which I prefer. Most battery powered have plastic deck.
Only gripe is there isn't a turbo button on the mower, it's auto when it detects lots of resistance.

  • Is everyone noticing how much more expensive generic branded Chinese stuff is now?

  • Have this kit for a few years now. Love it. Always does what it needs and instant via battery. No more mucking around with fuel.
With the mower be mindful that the cut isn't as low as some other mowers, for those lawn 'pawn' folks looking to scalp.

Looks like they have a join now and get 5% off. Good deal OP.

  • For ozbargainers currently in the market , here’s my take.
I bought this kit online during Black Friday. I already owned the EGO composite deck mower vershion (LM19xx) and whipper snipper(carbon head kit and aluminium attachments) from earlier purchases, so I’ve been able to compare them side by side.
The EGO composite deck mower is noticeably lighter and easier to manoeuvre, especially when getting close to edges. My yard has quite a few bumps and ruts, and both mowers can get stuck or scalp in those areas. With the EGO, it’s easier to slightly lift the front and push through problem spots.
Storage is another win for EGO — it folds well and can be stored vertically, which is very convenient. In terms of cutting height and overall cut quality, both mowers perform very similarly.
As for the whipper snipper (multi-tool), both are powerful and chew through grass easily. That said, I find the EGO has better weight distribution and feels more ergonomic overall.
In summary, EGO feels a bit more refined in handling, ergonomics, and storage. However, from a value-for-money perspective, Greenworks comes out ahead — especially considering I picked up the chainsaw through the redemption offer.
I don’t use these tools as frequently as I used to, so the cost savings ultimately made sense for me.

    • This greenworks mower can be stored vertically but it is quite heavy and probably when I wish it was plastic. I make sure to have my weetbix before I mow.
