Glad I paid $1,890 last month around BF

Just wondering but what card are you running and hows the experience so far?

      • +2

Got it during pre order and shopback tracked - totalling probably 1.8k.

Running with 4080 Super with no issues. Expedition 33, where winds meet, Wukong, Final Fantasy - everything seemed to run on high or ultra very well.

Although if you're pixel sensitive, out of the box the screen will automatically adjust sections to prevent burn in. These could be making sections darker, more blue, etc. It may annoy people for sure.

I mainly use this for WFH and gaming, so it's great to have such large space. Fancy zones is your friend. Only annoying thing is screen sharing cause nobody knows how to zoom in when I screenshare for work.

        • Hi what cpu are you running if you dont mind me asking as I also have a 4080 Super but some games struggle on ultra settings

          • @Buggy D Clown: I do have i9 14900K, and it probably does help for those CPU intensive games or those that are not optimised.

        • Thank you! That is great to know. It's nice to know that you don't have to have a 4090/5090 to run it.

I was using a C2 42 for over 3 years before switching over to this.

        The Pros comparing to C2
        - it’s a monitor, proper wake up and standby
        - less vertical height, reduces neck strain
        - wide aspect ratio, more immersive for gaming
        - great side by side layout for work
        - menu OSD much better than C2
        - USB C and Display Port

        Cons:
        - missed the glossy screen
        - anti glare makes it look a bit hazy or getting used to
        - sound ain’t great

I’m running it via 7900 XTX on PC and Mac M1 Pro.

        • I'm running a 48 C1. A bit tired of the 48, it's a bit too big for a non-curved monitor but sounds like the move to this probably isn't worth the price quite yet.

Have to say though, getting a C1 years and years ago for like 1.5k seems like it was a good choice considering it's still comparable to a cutting edge monitor from 2025 that costs significantly more.

    • Amazing monitor for that price. And actually cheaper than the pre-orders.

    • Where was it for $1890 during black friday?

      • +1

        Via LG partners hub

CES in a week, not exactly the best time to buy a monitor at higher than launch prices

Edit $2393 @ education/partner store if you have access to those

  • Who's running Cyberpunk on ultra with this?

  • Holding out for a good price again for the 39 inch 1440p OLED. Missed it last time I can't let that happen again

  • Awesome, waiting for the 990 model, so the curve isn’t as harsh on the eyes.

Probably why they are trying to move these items first.
Been eyeing off the C model tv’s for years but with LG doing some trash things when it comes to firmware on them, a PC monitor seems the way to go and also gain a couple inches ;)

It's handy to have a couple extra inches. It's easier to do less with more than more with less!

      • I feel like there's a joke here somewhere.

    • I don't think m they're trying to clear them for the 990, pretty standard discount. 990 going to be more expensive with that motor so think both models have their place, hopefully we see some news about it at CES, being radio silent since last year's.

  • (profanity) I didn't reaize it would go on sale yesteday, I assumed the sales would start today. Now its $2999 instead of $2799?

    • I think a lot of people jumped on the deal so they jacked the price to meet demand

    • yo btw the deal is BACK

      • Cheers, I'm having second thoughts about this monitor though given the 800R curve. I'm buying it for productivity (software dev). I might wait for the bendable version that was demo'd at CES last year (and hopefully comes out eventually some time??) Or maybe I'll go for one of the smaller 5k2ks + portrait monitor. I'm just looking to get an ultrawide that has a fair bit of vertical screen space. I'm coming from a 43" 4k normal aspect ratio monitor (which is frankly a little too tall to be ideal)

        • If yours is currently too tall then the 45" is even taller so probably not the best. Get the monitor you want no need to chase the hype :)

          • @Twilight1234: Na cause current one is standard aspect ratio for 4k
https://www.displaywars.com/43-inch-16x9-vs-45-inch-21x9 - so seems like it would be perfect, still quite tall, but cutting off the part of hte screen that is too tall to be really useable currently.

I dont want to give up too much vertical real estate. Also OLED is not something I want to compromise on. Seems like nothing quite ticks my boxes in the current market.

LG 39GX950B + portrait could work. but what I really want is the 45" with a less aggressive curve
