[VIC] Nikon ProStaff P7 8x42 Binoculars $139.99 In-Store Only @ Costco, Ardeer (Membership Required)

690

Crazy low price for Nikon ProStaff P7 8x42.
RRP for this model is 399, but usually sells for 270-290. Lowest price right now is about 240, so I had to buy one :(
Not sure if the same price is across all Costco stores. Ardeer still has few left in stock, but realistically this deal probably belongs to low stock thread.

Nice. Shame I don’t have a Costco membership and they’re on the wrong side of town for me.

Just wondering, why would an older man need binoculars?

    • +21

When I was younger, I could easily see 7 stars in the Pleiades star cluster. Sadly not anymore :(

    • why would an older man need binoculars

because he still got vision on both eyes

      • Same reason a younger man ‘might’ want binoculars

    Any deals on trinoculars?

    • +1

Shh, you don't want Cyclops to broden this deal

For that, you would need to bend over and open your third eye 👁️‍🗨️ 👀

The Nikon Prostaff P7 8x42 binoculars are highly praised as excellent, lightweight, all-around performers for birding and general nature viewing, offering bright, clear images with great color, wide fields of view, comfortable ergonomics, and useful waterproofing, though some note a slight softness at the edge of the view and a loose focus wheel. They're considered great value, delivering near-Monarch-level performance in a lighter package, making them ideal for long days outdoors.

    • +1

A loose focus wheel can be a real pita - you might find yourself having to refocus after every time you lower them.

    • -5

As long as they are used for watching birding rather than dogging.

Buy!! Have these and they’re awesome for sports. Use for football and horse racing

    • +3

Impressed you can race a horse and use these at the same time.

      • Imagine taking penalty shot while wearing them or beings the keeper hahaha

  • Will this be available in Costco NSW too?

    • +1

I'm going to Costco around Sydney on Friday so I'll see if they have this.

    • +2

I called them to check, apparently none in stock in NSW

      • +1

Thanks, save me a 20km trip to Costco!!

Oh man, i really want these, can anyone get me in? Or buy them if they're going and I'll pay you. I'm a birder, we can be trusted.

If spy glasses aren't your thing, maybe binoculars are?

The deals for the last few days are really leaning into a certain theme.

  • Qld ?

    • Checked an hour ago. Out of stock in all stores.

  • I literally bought the same ones for $250 a few days ago and thought that was a steal!

  • +2

No stock at Ringwood. Marked as Delete, zero on hand.

  • +1

15 in stock at Moorabbin. You will need.to show the photo at checkout and pick it up from merchadise pick ul.

    • -5

You should buy them all and then stick $20 on top and sell them to OzBargainers. Then again, dealing with OzBargainers for $20 could be painful…

      • Ok broden

    • Tks grabbed a pair at moorabin

    • +1

  • $199.97 for Nikon ProStaff 5 12x50 121798

    • Are these in stock in Moorabbin?

      • +2

I might have bought the last one… worth asking at your local to see if they have Nikon binoculars stock laying around and if they can check stock levels in other stores.

They thought there might be 15 or 16 of the 8x42 out back at the start of the day but only had 1 showing when I visited at 4:30pm.

The one out back ended up being a 12x50 and not really on sale. $199 seems a lot cheaper than the $360+ elsewhere. That said, some say 12x50 is less popular because it's heavier and you may need a tripod to stop it wobbling.

I've used it a bit this afternoon. It seems good.

If anyone is checking stock, you might as well save time by not wandering around the audio/electronics area and just head straight to the Merchandise Pick-up area past the checkout. It's usually away from the membership desk at the opposite end with a big Merchandise Pick-up sign. They'll be able to look up the item or check out back.

    • where are the 12x50, link ?

      • A Google search for them shows a Costco page in the results but the page doesn’t work.

  • If only we had Costco and/or Aldi in Tasmania. Hummmppphhhh.

  • Such great binos, this is such a steal if you can find somewhere with stock.
