Been looking at these for a while and this is the cheapest I’ve ever seen them. $10 each certainly seems worth the risk when compared with the official AirTag.

may be worth highlighting this 4-pack is not UGREEN though

Maybe worth to say regardless whatever the brand, they’re made in China

I had to return this brand due to the inconsistency in updating the accurate location.

Bought
I need new Iphone now.

Don't throw your money away too much

Used these while travelling and they seemed to do the trick. They’ve got a card-shaped one for your wallet, passport, etc. too which is cool

You can pickup unbranded versions of these from Aliexpress for $2-4 each. UGreen doesn’t really add much value here.
Only official Apple AirTags have the directional finding with UWB chip. These Find My tags will tell you only near and far not the actual direction and distance to a tag.

They also have a beeper in them which is quite loud and I've found it pretty useful, haven't felt the need for the directional finding like my airtags have.

I bought some from AliExpress, and compare with the official one, those cheap ones runs out of batteries relatively fast (last 2-3 months), while the official one can last 10-12months

The UGREEN one in this deal uses a 2032 battery too

Yes just realised this deal is different to the 4pack deal which was rechargeable

@ozvictor: Unpopular opinion here , I trust coin batteries more than rechargeable and don’t mind replacing once a year.

Can you link to the one you recommend?
I bought a wallet version and it keeps needing to be paired every few days. The ugreen one haven't.
Also the ugreen alarm are pretty loud so don't really need UWB. I only have found the UWB helpful for airpods when someone picked them up and had it in their bag so couldn't hear it.

Is this better than the Android version? I have both Samsung and Iphone, not sure which has better accuracy or they are the same.

In my experience ios version is better and easier to use.

Apple has the best coverage and precision, but it also costs more and you need to replace battery when it runs out.
There's two technologies used these trackers, some only have one, some have both. One is Bluetooth with precision down to a metre or two. The other is UWB (Ultra Wide Band) which has precision to a few centimetres.
Apple's scanning network is on by default on all Apple devices because they own the hardware and the software they can do this, and they don't care about your privacy. And Apple have the largest share of devices so better coverage.
For Android you either have Google's Find Hub or Samsung's SmartThings networks. Both are off by default and you need to opt in, so you likely have less devices doing the scanning.I have the UGreen Android trackers and haven't had any issues with them. I don't need cm precision so they do the job for a quarter the price.

I want one that covers both iOS and Android.

isnt there an airtag app on the android i vaguely remember some takl about that

I see why they try to sell these before the duo version becomes the norm.

Note: Cannot pair with iOS and Android devices simultaneously

Thanks, i got a set

these are not rechargeable like the 4x 45 dollar deal from last week, i got that one

Not really product related but looking at the listing images if you've managed to leave your backpack, bicycle, and keys on three seperate continents you have some serious problems

It's called your fu#$ed 😂👍 unless of course money isn't a problem and you feel like travelling back to particularly unsafe areas, some rough guesses..
- Mississippi, backpack
- Ivory Coast, bike
- Kyrgyzstan, key
My advice forget about it 😂

Or a travel influencer flex.

Any recommendations for a location to hide a card sized tracker in my car, just in case it gets stolen? I’d want it to be hidden enough that it would be challenging for the potential thief to find, but easy enough to access to change/charge the battery… I’m a bit handy but no expert mechanic.

tape it underneath the driver seat

Stick it down the back of the passenger seat cushion.

I had an Airtag on my ebike that was stolen.
if separated from their 'parent' device for more than 24hrs, an Airtag will chirp a few times when it detects a phone nearby. this is to prevent someone using the Airtag for stealth stalking of someone.
so, when my ebike was stolen from our 'secure' car park, the Airtag helpfully notified the thief of its presence (because I had not used the bike in a few days) and they ripped it off (I saw this on the cctv footage)
additionally, if your iphone detects an Airtag that is associated with another appleID (or airpods, or any product you can find in FindMy) it will display a notification on your device, and the tag will chirp.
I havent looked into it but I would ASSUME that the FindMy certification means that third party tags comply with Apples list of requirements, which would make prevent it being used for stalking/asset recovery.
my advice to anyone hoping to use these devices as asset recovery tools is to look elsewhere - there are products that are designed for asset recovery that will do a better job. Apple is very assertive that recovering stolen goods is not the intended purpose of Airtags - they are for finding lost items, not recovering stolen items.
for a car or other asset that you'd want to recover, you would want 4G GPS enabled tracking.

Looking one for my dog would this work? Ta

Does your dog have Bluetooth?

Thanks OP!
Bought two packs…. $10 each, can't go wrong!

Want to put these in my van but am concerned about the beeper. How does the beeper in them work? Scared it will give the game away to the thief

Does anyone know of any alternatives to track a little dog accurately in real time, that might run away? I've tried the Apple tag, and a few other non-Apple ones.. none of them ever seem to update in real-time well enough, if at all sometimes, until you're standing 18 inches from the dog! Then they tell you where the dog is!!

Without a big power source and a working lte connection, I doubt you could find one that update in real time.

some of the watches you can track using your phone with live location, particularly the one for designed for kids safety.
but not sure if you want to spend $$$$ that much on your dog.

Have one, works well. Notifies me anytime I leave it behind lol
