Woolies has 1.2kg bags of Cashews (roasted and salted) for $22.00 (or $18.33 per kilo). https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/881388 They are regularly discounted to $19 per 1.2kg bag.

you can get like 1.13kg from costco for like $23.99 and they're so, so much better than anything coles and ww, and a lot better than aldis. and they are huge.

Sometimes they get ones in jars too that are another couple of levels above, the ones in the bag.

      • yep, closer to $30 for the jar but the best ones you can get in Australia :)

        • Amazing how good they are

        • Best I've had are from a continental shop that sells them in purple foil bags, I believe they come from Lebanon. The kernels are huge. I don't recall the price.

We do buy Aldi for price but the kernels are very small. Even Harris Farm's home brand are noticeably larger / better.

    • Yep can second this. The Costco ones are excellent

Beacause the viet workers nails have fallen off peeling these cashews?

      • +1

Yes, sometimes they drop dead or injury too. All that work, peel, sort, picking $1/kg

just an observation re nuts : recently bought walnuts / cashews / brazil nuts , they seem to be old / bitter / dark looking

bought from colesworth / aldi / costco / deli , same story

dont know whats going on maybe getting last seasons stock , or aus getting sh*t stock served to us , while us /europe gets the first class stock

  • Bought one pack from Aldi. truely disgusting.

    • Agree. Pre-Xmas purchase lot were even worse than my oprevious purchase a couple of years ago. Off my list permanently now, along with Ww after two bad bags in a row, which only leaves Coles (adequate) should they ever get back to the "usual" discount (<$14/kg).
