Was innocently doom-scrolling the Amazon app on one of my random accounts, tossed something cute into the cart, and suddenly—boom—“Free 1‑month Prime trial” pops up like a clingy situationship trying to make it official. Of course I smashed that “Start free trial” faster than I reply to “u up?”

Then the scientist in me logged into my other Amazon accounts to see if they got the same love… nothing. Crickets. Clearly this was a targeted offer for chosen ones only—aka the blessed, the chaotic, and the chronically online. So, for my babes reading this: go add something to your cart and see if Amazon decides you’re main‑character material today. If you get the free trial, welcome to the VIP lounge; if not, blame the algorithm, never the aura. 💅🏻

Couldn’t drop the URL, babes — I grabbed this from the app in such a rush I didn’t even bother getting all techie with the link details, lolzzz. Consider that link a cute decoy, but the confirmation screenshot below is the real star of the show.

Whoever edited - damit the link now works hahaha in my other account lol kudos to that put the link ;-)

  • Yeah I got this recently as well as I ended my prime mid last year and didn't buy much within the last 6 months with the minimum spend required for free shipping.

  • Isn't tied to when your last purchase was, but more likely when you last used prime.

I last ordered off amazon in December, but got my free trial offer today as well. This is a frequent offer amazon cycles.

Remember to go through and cancel your subscription renewal immediately after you start the trial! They try to push to have a reminder a few days before renewal instead. Don't fall for it.

    • hi, can you cancel straightaway and still use benefits til end of current cycle to stream etc? tia

      • Yes - Cancelling just cancels auto renewal. Amazon just has some very strong dark patterns to make it feel like you can't.

This occurs to inactive accounts every so often. Family's got a few accounts amongst ourselves and we activate the free prime whenever we have a need to purchase something. Obviously this may not work if you need to purchase things often off of Amazon

Buy heaps on Amazon (being in Tas), the $79 annual membership pays for itself. Prime Video has some ok stuff too.

    • Not really 80% of the time Amazon is just price matching another retailer. If you are accounting for the convenience of delivery then maybe yes otherwise you are paying them an extra $79 just to get the same price as other retailers.

  • Was all going smoothly until I logged in and received a red box that said "Your offer has been updated based on your eligibility". Haven't had a free trial for a while, either.

    • Lucky you lolz

  • Thanks op!

  • Anyone know how long it will be available for?
Will it still be there in 3 or 4 months time if i dont activate now?

    • Most likely but can't be sure
