This timed well for me, had just got a $200 off offer on a Creality K2plus 3D printer and paired it with this for $500 off.

    • I thought codes couldn't be used when accepting offers.

      • +1

I was worried about that but 100% worked. Already received shipment notification

        • Wild! I wonder if its a new thing or something else.

        • an offer is an offer. as long as it's not something that gets entered as a code - you're fine

            • @[Deactivated]: This code cannot be used in conjunction with any other eBay offer, coupon or voucher, however it may be used in conjunction with a seller coded coupon or offer, subject to any applicable Terms and Conditions.

            • -1

@[Deactivated]: Yep, the seller's offer just adjusts the final price pre any coupons… it definitely works

              • @Commodore64: am I just misunderstanding?
We are talking about when you send out offers to watchers, or are we talking about stores offering their own discounts like 10%, and its usually above the pictures of the listing?

In the past, I've been unable to use a code after accepting a best offer sent by a seller.

                • @[Deactivated]: I was able to use eBay code together with best offer in the past, on more than one occasions. Have not tried in this particular deal, but we know eBay works in mysterious way sometimes…

                  • @Buy2Much: Might have just been because my codes were from do this and get a voucher for ___ off ___ and those 2-3 times I tried using them after accepting best offers, but they didn't work, were exceptions.

I've since spent years being like "ah man, this best offer mixed with this code woulda been so good. Gotta pass"

        • Wait to clarify, you got a discounted offer price and accepted it from seller, then on checkout, entered the code and further discounts it?

          • @ozchobie: Yes.

I also bought a filament dryer from sane seller by using make an offer to offer a lower price which they accepted. I then used the JAN17 code entered at paynent to get another 17% off that already lower offer price.

            • @buy swap sell: Oh wow im buying a cheapish lens for my new camera so i might try that counter offer too. Cheers!

    • +3

For more clarity I was looking at the K2plus combo yesterday and received a seller offer over night for $200 off taking it from $2099 to $1899. Was considering the offer but then the 17% code come up on eBay.

So i accepted the seller offer of $1899 then during payment checkout i applied the JAN17 code for a further $300 off taking it to $1599. So it was only one code used after accepting the seller offer.

      • Thanks for confirming

      • Do you think this would work if I made an offer and the seller accepted?

        • can only try but the chances are good

    • nice! looks like you were lucky, it's been jacked up to 2.1k lmao

      • yeah it was 2.1k already but seller offer made at $1899 plus JAN17 code $300 off means i got it at $1599

  • +6

    Jack is back

  • +4

Not working for me. Item appears in the link as eligible for 17% discount but says ‘code cannot be applied to order’

Worth raising with eBay or give up?

    • +4

      Give up.
I just spoke to live chat, they were clueless and said the item that was listed as part of the JAN17 sale that I wanted, was not part of the sales…..

      • +1

Yep I’ve been on chat for 30 mins and they are saying the same.

        • +1

Update on my escalation: Cannot believe it, eBay just gave me a personalised discount code for $238 to purchase the item I wanted. (Note item has now been removed from 17% list so they obviously fixed the issue). I thought I was wasting my time following up every few days but it clearly is worth a try next time the issue pops up!

    • +1

Yeah eBay promotions/codes are often buggy, it’s like they are being coded by interns. This is not the first or will be the last…

  • +4

    Any bargains?

    • I got excited seeing the number of upvotes, but then when I tried to apply to everything I was eyeing there was indeed no bargains for me.

  • +5

EBay plus seems to be a money grabbing scam. Tried to quit, got told I would get a $30 voucher if I just wait one more month and pay the December monthly fee before quitting. So I decided to give it one more month. Turns out they billed me for an entire year instead of one month, and have yet to receive the voucher. The membership benefits seem fairly measly compared to Amazon.

    • +3

      Ditto. No coupon received.

    • Same here

  • How do you know what's eligible? Code didn't work for me

  • +1

Found various items in the link that dont accept the code - why?

“Eligible Items” means items listed on eBay.com.au where a link to these terms and conditions and the coupon redemption code JAN15 (for non-Plus Members) or JAN17 (for eBay Plus members) is found in the item listing, or the item appears in the following URL:

    https://www.ebay.com.au/e/coupon-offers/15-17-ms-kicker-top-…

The key word here is "OR" not "AND" in this link…

    This seems so dodgy….

    • +1

Yeah switch 2 shows up in search but code doesn't work

      • +1

I've lodged a report with Ebay.

    • Yes, went on EBay chat and they are trying to say it needs to apply in the listing to be valid. Dodgy as

      • +2

        Such a trash company

  • +2

Looks like there are many items that appear in the search panel on the event/coupon page that do not accept the code. On these items the code details do not appear on the listing (meaning it wouldn't be eligible according to the T&C's). Code has only been live for 2 hours and eBay is a small indie company so maybe those item listings will be updated to have the code accepted in the next few hours? Or disappear from the coupon page if it is filtering incorrectly.

  • +10

Sorry, negging this due to listings literally within the promotion search link being ineligible haiyaaa

    • yep tried it on a few things same as you doesn't work.

    • +1

      Yup me too
Got all excited when I saw dji 5 in the list, but not accepted
It valid till 18/01, so I'll give it a day or so, but I suspect just a stuff up in the list. It says about 70,000 items in list and so maybe just not filtering properly
      So frustrating

  • Thanks op, I grabbed some portra 400. Hp5 also an okay price from dcexpert with separate 15% seller code

  • Code doesnt work for the 4 or 5 items ive tried.

  • I searched within the code promo page but then the code didnt work with the results?

Just looking for an affordable smart phone (e.g. Samsung S23 FE or old refurb iphone) for grandparents under $500

  • Looks like this sort of discounts are funded by eBay, requested to cancel an order in order to reorder using the code, seller has no issues with that.

    • NO, these special 17%/22% off promos always co-funded by seller 10%/12% and ebay (the rest %). so seller did pay more surcharge but they could refuse the offer.
