Before Upcoming Federal Rebate Change on 01/May

📍 NSW installs

About the system:

Large battery installs will be far more limited after 1 May rule changes.

This deal lets you lock in 44.8–51.2kWh now using GoodWe, a well-established Tier-1 brand in Australia.

Ideal for high-usage homes, EV charging, heat pumps, pool + AC loads, designed to accommodate households' increasing demand for electricity consumption.

GoodWe EHB 9.99kW inverter + 44.8 kWh Goodwe Battery – $8,800

$22822 - 369 STC * $38 (STC Price) = $8800

  • 1 x GoodWe EHB 9.99kW Hybrid (Single Phase)
  • 2 Towers of GoodWe Lynx G2 – 22.4kWh = 44.8kWh Usable

Each tower includes 1 x GoodWe LYNX F G2 High-Voltage Power Control Unit (PCU) and 7 x Goodwe 3.27kW LYNX F G2 Battery Module.

GoodWe GW9900-ET-20 inverter + 51.2 kWh Goodwe Battery – $9,900

$25860 - 420 STC * $38 (STC Price)=$9900

  • 1 x GoodWe GW9900-ET-20 (Three Phase)
  • 2 Towers of GoodWe Lynx G2 – 25.6kWh = 51.2kWh Usable

Each tower includes 1 x GoodWe LYNX F G2 High-Voltage Power Control Unit (PCU) and 8 x Goodwe 3.27kW LYNX F G2 Battery Module.

13.3kW Jinko Solar Panels $4,990

If you don’t currently have solar installed, this deal isn’t applicable, as the federal rebate can’t be claimed without a solar PV system in place.

However, a 13.3kW solar PV system (28 × Jinko 475W) can be installed with the battery for $4,990.

New Jinko 475W N-type modules with Jinko Solar's HOT 3.0 technology offer better reliability and efficiency (nearly the same length as Jinko 440W).

  • Any deals for Vic?

    • Not yet for VIC at this stage

          I'll get him for you.
          VIC! Hey Vic!

  • +1

any reason you're offering the older lynx batteries and not the new esa series? clearing out stock?

    • The new ESA series is available for single-phase, and we can offer up to 48 kWh ESA systems there.

For three-phase, the ESA battery isn’t available yet

      • esa for same price?

        • +1

Yes, ESA 9.99 (singple phase) + 48 kWh would be similar pricing to the GW9900-ET-20 + 51.2 kWh setup (~$9,900)

          Thanks

          • @MES: What is the advantage of the new ESA series? Should I wait for it? I need a 3 phases installation.

            • @seniordoc: Son-in-laws an Electrician, he would get batteries for his current solar system if there were a suitable 3 phase setup that would slot in to his 3 phase setup, says there's nothing, I personally don't know … just what he says.

    • Stock clearance is likely happening everywhere. I am getting an older model of fox. Likely china has flooded the market as new models have come and uptake remained slower. Seems 1 Dec cutoff was also a selling point rather than true cost increase as the margins on these systems is still large so most installers are just selling as much as they can to claim the rebate. There is benefit of larger batteries for consumers but i think installers are benefiting more. This might change in May with rebates making larger systems more expensive but then expect battery prices to drop further. Just my 2 cents worth.

      • What is the older model of Fox you are getting? Assume not EQ4800…

        • It is. Why?

          • @Royale with cheese: Just first I'd heard of "older models" on the EQ4800, although I've only just started doing some research. Do you have any further info I can look at (e.g. model sub numbers or similar) as I assumed EQ is newer version of ECS. Cheers.

            • +1

@Tock: i guess he might be talking about the new cq6 which isnt available for install yet.

              • @kazer: An installer offered CQ6 but he was too rude so I chose to go with arise solar. The newest is Power Q series with a stackable inverter but not available in Australia yet. We did some research and CQ6 may have heat control to warm it up in winter but I suspect batteries run hot anyways and might be more relevant for sub-zero regions.

  • Does this includes UPS/Blackout protection?

  • No — UPS / blackout protection isn’t included. It can be added as an optional extra for around $400, subject to a compliant switchboard.

    Thanks

  • Any deals SA

    • No SA deals currently, sorry

  • Any travel charge to Maitland, NSW?
Do you use your own installers or subcontractors?

  • We use our in-house team for the Maitland area; a $300 travel charge applies.

    Thanks

  • +1

    How about ACT?

    • ACT Not yet, sorry

  • Recently I signed up for 11kw Astronergy solar, Fox 15kw inverter and Fox 42khw battery for 12k, locked previous year's price by signing contract on 31st December. For me, I cared about roi. Equipment is probably not top notch.

    • Yes, ROI definitely matters

    • Which installer did you use?

      • AAA Energy, if you want, I can send you my quote so you can negotiate a better deal

Tbh, I don't recommend them as they're a fairly new company, I'm just going with my gut feeling

        • I went with the infamous Arise Solar. Feeling very sketched out, but they offer 36 months financing plan with Latitude and I got the 10kW panels + 9.9 kW inverter with 42 kWh battery for 10,750 so it was too good a deal not to go for

If AAA Energy can get you clean install, feel free to let me know. My understanding is I can still cancel with these dodgy Arise folks and I wouldn’t mind moving to someone more reputable.

End of the day, most of these companies use contractors and it’s a bit of a mixed bag which one you end up with I reckon

          • @KvotheMMA: Arise will match every quote (just not beating them as they advertise falsly). Paid $8800 for a battery and inverter with additional panels. Waiting install. Need quote in writing for them to match it.

          • @KvotheMMA: My install will be in March or April depending on the construction of a new house.

I just made sure they send installer who has CEC certification.

So far, I am happy with their communication and design. Everyone told me you can put 13 or 20kw solar but no one actually laid it out on my roof. Turns out, Max I can go is 11.45kw. System is designed without actually electricity use numbers. I just went with 15kw inverter because I have 3 phase throughout. I am in Fox group, apparently, it's also adopted in UK so a lot of information on troubleshooting is present. In the end, you'll become a solar guru lol

  • Who doesn't like waking up in the morning and doing a good wee

    Not me!

  • Will you be prompt to fix up the faults from installing these combos?

    • With a large number of installations, there may occasionally be issues.

However, any issues raised by customers have been promptly rectified, and we have not received any complaints from OZB to date.

  • good deal. how long would this sale last til?

    • Thanks, the deal is available while stocks last, and availability may change at any time

  • This is about a third of what it would cost in WA :(

    • Yes, pricing can vary quite a lot by state, and this is great value for money.

    • Yep. Would be all over this if it was. ROI seems pretty poor here.

  • Building in NSW from April, won't be able to get them in time :(

    • It may be hard to get this deal in time.

But wemight have deals after May, although they are unlikely to be as sharply priced as this one

  • Hi, do you have any higher power 3-phase options? Looking for 15-30kW.

    • Yes, we can supply the GW15K-ET-20 at an additional cost of $900.

  • What sort of lead times would one be looking at for installation?

  • It depends on scheduling and site conditions,

However, the typical timeframe is within three weeks.

    Thanks

  • I don't think you can install a 7 module battery stack on a single phase system. The manufacturer specified is 6 modules (19.2 kWh) max per stack on a single phase.

  • I suppose not compatible with amber yet? That's a risk unfortunately 😬

    • +1

It's absolutely compatible with Amber, just not with smartshift 😎

  • Just to clarify OP it's $8.8k for a 44.8kwh battery system with 10kw single phae inverter and then another $4.99k if we dont have solar already installed?

    • +1

      That is correct,

      Thanks

  • Question to a professional solar installer like yourself; what is the absolute smallest battery and panel combo available, and a rough price?

    • For a premium option with smarter control and expandability, Sigenergy is the best choice (13.2 kW Jinko + 24 kWh / 48 kWh Sigen battery, approximately $18k / $24k installed).

For value for money, GoodWe offers a solid and reliable solution.

      • Ok, I see why its a non starter for my parents if thats the smallest.

Gonna go back to the written off Nissan Leaf parked out the back idea.

        Appreciate the advice.

  • I have a 3-phases electricity system, I want as much solar panels as physically possible (probably 32 Panels) and a large matching battery (? 60 kw). I am a high electricity user (about $250 per month). What is the likely cost to install that? I am in a NSW metropolitan suburb. thank you.

    • A practical and solid combination would be:

      • 20 kW solar array
      • GoodWe 15.0 kW 3-phase inverter
      • GoodWe 51.2 kWh battery

Around $18500 installed in a NSW metro suburb, subject to installation conditions.
Please send through your details to sales@matrixes.com.au and we’ll be happy to review and provide more information.

  • Hi, when will ESA series be released for 3 Phase homes?

    • It is currently available with a single-phase inverter paired with a three-phase meter setup.

      This configuration is possible if someone wishes to proceed this way;

However, we are expecting a three-phase inverter to become available later this year.

      • Hi, what are the disadvantages of using this setup for a three phase meter? Is the idea to to upgrade to a three phase inverter when it becomes available (at our own expense)?

  • is this better than the 4999 deal posted in dec? 10kw with 50kw battery, still happens to be active when they clearly advertised ends in dec lol

    • Hello,

Not sure which deal you’re referring to?

However, we believe this is the best deal available currently for this brand and setup

      • VOLTX deal still goin, not your company your competition

  • Does this include any circuit backup?

    • No — UPS / blackout protection isn’t included. It can be added as an optional extra for around $400, subject to a compliant switchboard.

      Thanks

  • the 1300 number on your website is out of service and the mobile number doesn't get answered

    • Thanks for pointing that out, We’ll get this fixed ASAP,

In the meantime, the mobile number is still available.

  • What is the warranty period on these?

  • Warranty Coverage:

    Solar panels: 25 years

    Inverter: 10 years

    Battery: 10 years

    Workmanship: 5 years

    • +1

Thank you. Is it possible to arrange this through Brighte so as to be eligible for Commbank's $1500 cashback offer? As described here: https://www.commbank.com.au/personal-loans/home-energy-upgra…

      • keen to know this too

      • We’re a Brighte-approved vendor, but the CBA requirements and process are just not yet clear to us.

  • is goodwe better than Anker. not sure why Anker is over priced?

  • Anker has a slim profile, which might suit some special cases well,

While GoodWe stands out with more competitive pricing and proven stability.

  • What's the turn around time for a quote?

    • +1

      Within a day
Have you submitted it yet? We can quick check for you.

      • Thanks for coming back.

Yes, I've responded to the initial email with required info last week and have sent a follow up email today.

  • OP, just checking the SAA portal for your details and accreditation, assuming S6019447 is your accreditation number? Why is it showing as "Suspended"? If the status is suspended on install day, how does that affect the STC rebate sign-off? Any timeline on when this will be back to "Active"?

    • Hello,

The person you mentioned will not be the installer on site,

Please ask our in-house team to present their electrical licence and required accreditations on the day,

They will be able to show all necessary accreditations, and the CCEW will also clearly reflect this,

      Thanks

      • +2

Thanks, OP. Apology if this comes across a bit nosy however I feel that it is important to make sure the installer and designer are both still active on the SAA site. If either one isn’t showing “Active”, it can delay or mess up the rebate payment.

Could you share the accreditation details for your Sydney team so we can check?

I reckon anyone genuinely thinking about going ahead with MES would be keen to see that info too.

        • +2

          Hello Jimmy,

The final price quoted is a fixed, out-of-pocket price.

Even any issues with claiming the rebate (which has never happened), the customer does not bear any risk.

We also prefer not to publicly display our electrician’s full licence details here.

The customer is more than welcome to verify all licence information on site.

We have commissioned three jobs through this OzB post, and we believe all customers have been happy with the works,

Please let us know if you need any further clarification.

          • @MES: Hi OP,
May I ask why you prefer not to publicly display your electrician’s licence details here?
Also, are they MES employees or outsourced installers?
            Thanks.

  • Do you install in Dubbo NSW? Your team or locals, costs etc, ta.

    • Thanks for reaching out.

Unfortunately, we’re not able to service the Dubbo area at this time.

      • disappointing :(
Strange how NSW seems to stop closer to the mountains!

  • How much for small system 15-20kwh battery with a 5kws inverter?

40-50kwh system is pretty insane for most household.

    • +1

15-20kwh would be enough for most homes today. But what about 5 years from now? When you get an EV? When you need to convert your gas heating to electric?

If you are getting a battery installed now, you gotta think ahead. Otherwise the investment hardly makes sense.

      • How far ahead until the battery cease to work?

        • About 10-15 years.

          • @kazer: So how much future planning is that with ROI 6-10years for an asset with useful life of 10-15 years? At least solar panels with ROI 6-10 years has a useful life of 20-25.

The government subsidy handouts are fuelling a lot of needs feel good wants.

Financially, it makes sense for individuals (just like the FBT exemption on EV, which I have also taken advantage of). Very inefficient policy.

Speaking to an installer recently, someone that only use suppliers with established local presence and parts meeting all local requirement. Was told a lot of new shops importing their own batteries with no local backing, and use of not qualified installers are driving these cheap installs. Upfront issues like incorrect locations for battery replace that is dangerous and not meeting local standard. Likely more issues down the track from poor installation to alack of backing despite "10 years warranty".

            • @SetTheFaqUp: ROI isn't 6-10 years with these prices. It's about 4-5 years if you go for the non premium brands.

I'm not denying that the rebates are fueling a lot of pop-up installers that probably won't be around in 5 years (like this one). If people don't do their due diligence when choosing their installer, it's on them. But there are plenty of experienced installers offering around the same prices these new companies are.

Btw Goodwe isn't a new company to Australia with no local backing. They have been around for years and have a well established Australian presence.

  • NSW homes and small businesses can receive a payment for connecting their batteries to a Virtual Power Plant (VPP). It can be combined with the federal battery rebate and doesn’t affect the payments VPPs normally provide. To get it, a battery can’t have more than 28 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of usable capacity, but to get the federal battery rebate, it must have at least 5kWh, so a battery will need from 5-28kWh to benefit from both.

A battery with a high capacity will not qualify for VPP.

    • They can be used for VPP, but don’t get the government rebate (roughly $1000).
Up to you to decide if it’s worth the loss of $1000 rebate IF you join vs the extra storage.
Personally I wouldn’t join a VPP, I want to keep control of the battery to myself.

  • Just a quick update from someone who took up this deal.

I emailed them about this deal, after some back and forth I ended up with a FoxESS system. 42KW battery, 15kw 3P inverter, 3 backup circuits and they moved my solar panels from the old PV only inverter to the new FoxESS hybrid inverter. Total cost was just under $10k all up.

Why FoxESS and not the Goodwe in the deal? Because the Goodwe requires much more space, the FoxESS was a single stack and would fit in the space I had.

How long did it take? About 5 days to finalise the quote (all by email, I was unable to take calls due to work). After the deposit was paid (Friday) install was booked for Monday, but ended up being Tuesday due to weather.

How was the quality of the work? I am happy, nice clean install, no issues to raise.

How long did the install take? 2 people arrived at 9:30am, the extra person left at 5:30PM, and the electrician worked until 8:30pm getting it all finished.

Overall they are a solid 4.5/5 from me. They only loose half a mark because the safety stickers are crooked and that annoys me :)

If anyone would like to chat about the install or see photos please message me :)
