Cheapest this has been since the recent uptick in NVME Drives. The Japanese stock one comes with a heatsink and gets as low as 315 from my tracking so if you want to wait around for that you can.

Other deals to consider are that 9100 Pro for $335 that pops up infrequently.

I bought this one. Delivery took about 3 weeks but included over Christmas. Got a cheap heatsink from aliexpress as it is reported as running hot. For some reason this one isn't included on pgrid.

Just a warning. I just opened the package. They sent a 1Tb drive and the packaging looks a little dodgy (printing is not great…) . Wish me luck 🥹 and good luck to all that purchased.

Oh dear, best of luck bargain brother from another mother. I worry about dodgy scams like this whenever I see great tech prices on Amazon 💀

I bought this less than 2 months ago while I was waiting out for a decent sale on a 4TB. I paid $206 then. Really wish I just committed and bought a 4TB then instead given the ridiculous price increase.

      Wow, thats amazing.

  • Almost bought but keep in mind anyone who doesn't want wait until the 23rd of Feb (delivery to Melbourne)

All these threads turn into 'I bought one of these a year ago for $100'
We know, we hear it every 2nd comment.

    • But I bought it for $202 in June this year.

I am going to buy it for $400 next month

    • yeah but that kind of self validation is why we are all on ozbargain lol.

    • Haven’t you learned to time travel yet??

      • Go and time travel to before you wrote this comment.

Well, I get why you are annoyed with that type of comments but I feel it is actually good to be aware of the price history of items that one is looking to purchase. It keeps one informed of whether the inflated price is actually worth paying for. I think we have to understand that these hardware manufacturers are not our friends and they are happy for us to pay top dollar or they will just sell to companies who are happy to inflate the AI bubble. Just look at what Micron is doing with the Crucial brand.

      • It's more to do with that it's every second comment, it's someone already said "I bought this for $200 a year ago", it's implying just upvote that comment and no need to add another one.

      • Great points and I can now see how it helps when its reframed like that.

    • lol, don't even dare go into a Plex post

I have had a weirdly high number of Samsung 9x0 NVMe SSDs die on me in the last few years. Always been saved by good backups and their ultra-long warranty period, but man it has been annoying. Back in the day I never once had even one of their SATA SSDs die on me, but I've seen three NVMe drives die in different devices now, so it's starting to make me question their quality controls.

  • Good deal considering you can get around another $25 off with a combination of 5% shopback (westpac) and gift cards.

Reminder that 99.99 % of the population can't make use of drives like these at all and you're just throwing money at branding.

I bought the Japan heatsink version for $217 about 9 months ago. I'd never thought I'd see the day when computer parts would become an appreciating investment..

I'd only get this if you need the extra parallel buses this offers, for things like workstations or hypervisors…etc

And to think that I almost waited out for a better price when I bought one last november for $225.64 … it's insane. And yes, at this point if you are in the market, this current price is considered a bargain sadly and I hate it.

I am now in the market for a Gen 5 nvme due to a recent upgrade so I am screwed and would probably bite at current prices.

  • I posted the gen5 version (9100 pro) a few days ago, out of stock

AI and ram shortage seems to be getting worse unfortunately, for anyone wondering, these are the premium drives because they have dram which helps with sustained reads and writes, important for large file transfers or file/video editing. Regular users can probably grab a cheaper drive. The issue is all the drives are expensive so you buy what you can get.

  • 9100 Pro with Heatsink 2GB costing $415 on Samsung EPP. If you could use additional 5% off 1st use and another 5% off Loyalty, you can knock off another $40 (approx)

  • OOS? I don't see any options

  • I need some new storage, am i dreaming to think i can pay $100 per TB?

    • +1

Check out pgrid website. There are some options that come and go. Not just 4tb either.

    • The deal sold out.
