Good reminder. There's a long running post (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/923927) that mentioned it. Only applies to 4 of their plans (and not the 25/10).

That was for their consumer plans…. They now allow 2 free speed boosts on their business plans too…

I am so sick of churning 6 month deals to save a bit of cash

25/10 is cheap with fubar

I'm seeing $50.90/month?

isn't it reasonable enough?

@Sidor: reasonable price for 25/10 in 2026 should $0… it's so slow can't use it for anything that's not sending a pager or a messenger pigeon

it's so slow can't use it for anything that's not sending a pager or a messenger pigeon
Works fine for VOIP, email, simple browsing and for streaming IPTV for singles and couples.

@bigpoppa: What are you doing with your internet? I can watch Netflix, have online meetings, and download linux isos without problems. It depends on your needs, but 25 is more than enough for many people

@bigpoppa: So many post this sorta BS.
I'm using 25/10 right now while the family watches an online movie, son on youtube.
I'd only get higher if playing competitive online shooters. But even ADSL was good enuf for that.

@woozie3: I only said that coz he was sick of churning
$5 for convenience is a small price to pay.
+ supporting a 2 person team Australian based is worth more than $5 to me.
The 25/10 is not for everyone.

This is an intro special for new customers, $72pm after 6mths.
Fubar is always $50.90, unless their provider increases prices

Can you send me a link for this deal?

There’s a reason you’re on ozbargain. A dollar is a dollar saved.

I think you mean, A dollar saved is a dollar earned"

a dollar here, a dollar there
you can go to the $2 dollar shop

Is it difficult to switch. Im paying too much but worried I wont be able to configure the router for the new provider.

its pretty easy mate. sometimes you dont even need to configure the router

Till you switch to dodo and they disconnect your service for a solid day before it’s active… what a joke

I switched from Tangerine to More recently (expecting to have to configure the router) and it all went though without me even knowing the change had happened. I was two days in when I checked to see what was happening. So seamless.
They say not to cancel your existing service. This seems to important to avoid delays.
I’m on FTTP it should be noted. I don’t know if this is the case with FTTN or other connections

@Dano33: You should always contact your old provider to advise them you have switched, but AFTER the switch has occurred. Sadly it's not like a mobile port where you will automatically stop being charged by the old provider. Some providers do stop straight away, but there are certainly stories of other providers who will keep charging you and will be very stubborn about providing a refund if you fail to advise them you churned elsewhere.

@mitty: only if you don't have a 30 day notice period, otherwise you pay twice for some time.
if your service is churned will depend on your nbn tech and how your new provider provisions your new service.
eg: if you're on FTTP, some providers will activate on an unused port, therefore you have 2 services running.
@tadere: Yeah need to check the provider as some are now asking for 30 days notice so you need to plan your port out, not as simple as just wanted to port out tomorrow unless you don’t mind being charged double (for last month of existing provider and then first month of new provider) annoying but it is what it is 😵💫

@prankster: i just checked when the period is about to end, then churn
then block the old nbn thru the bank
gota be sure nuke 'em from orbit

@tonyjzx: lol how do you block them? Just tell the bank any future transactions by X to be blocked and they can do that?

Actually, i think it started stone July last year, most providers changed the way the churning process is done and you no longer need to change the configuration on your router. Check with your desired provider before churning, but should be super easy.
I moved to tangerine last year (from fubar) and didn't have to change anything on my router. I called tangerine because i was worried the switching hadn't been done properly and that i was still connected to fubar, and they told me that there is no longer a need for configuration

Pretty easy. If you need to update anything in your router it's usually just a couple of parameters and most providers send instructions. If not customer support should be able to help. Just takes a few minutes.

Arctel $65 500/50 for 12 months. :D

Signed up the mother in law to their 25
plan for $50 pm first 12m then $55 after. Free modem (basic) and they sent her a Bluetooth speaker as a gift. Its been about 2 months now and no issues yet. I'm assuming its cheap due to a lack of support but her connections stable so never really had to call in the past
I have called before during the FTTP installation phase and I spoke to an Aussie after a short wait.

Oh that’s nice, looked at the plan and it’s BYO modem and can’t see mention of any Bluetooth speaker hehe

Who provides their backbone?

Arctel.
Hi, for NBN aggregation we are primarily using the SL network, combined with Vocus & Telstra.
International peering is via Hurricane / Vocus & Superloop.
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/16847482/redir
@Twix: I am with SL currently, and HFC with heaps of flaps and NBN keep reject come to pay a visit, how is Arctel?
Local customer services?
Any advice would be really appreciated.
@nng526: about to churn away from arctel before my 6 months is even close to up
no outage checker
customer portal is basically useless
whilst customer reply times are reasonable, their service infra just isnt there
have been getting 20+ms ping and constant drop outs between 9pm-5am (i work for USA based company, so this is literally detrimental to my work)
nbn came and replaced the ntd but they cant do anything more than that so it has to be arctel infra as i never had this issue with any other provider in 3 years at this house (churn every 3-6 months for offers like any ozbargainer so have been with 5+ isps)
@twolettersins711: I think if detrimental for work, then perhpas find a decent supplier and stick with it. It's not worth churing here and there just to save a few $$.

@Borg: again, have had no issue with any other provider in 3 years and probably 6-7 churns across 5 isps. arctel has been the only downside

@twolettersins711: At least Arctel is much cheaper than superloop. I am current customer so no more specials.
I lived in a strata place, asked my neighour who work for telstra (We have HFC, no choice), apparently I been told my issue only happen to them once in a blue moon, but they are staff price and WFH, and it is not unlimited, so it would be much expensive for me….
if you have suffcient budget, may be give telstra a go.
Ps, I also want to work for an international company….
VIC health care is toxic. I dont see future consider Vic gov screwed up everything… personal opinion only.

Arctel NBN1000 also $80. They also need 30 day notice though like SL.

These damn 30-day notices need to be made illegal.
Imagine the uproar if our electricity provider charged us an extra 30 days after we left?!

@pharmlover: If SL issued the invoice on the 11th of the month and the payment date is on the 29th of that monh - eg invoice on 11/01 and pay is due on 29/01, when must I ask them to terminate my plan with SL so I can signup for different provider? 30 days from the date that callup or 30 after last payment date?

@timhn: 30 days from date you call to terminate. I did it recently with Superloop, churned from their 50/20 plan to the Arctel 500/50 plan for less.

@ozb-lurker: Adding that I just cancelled due to not getting reasonable peak speeds and while that was disappointing the cancellation was easy and they do pro-rata refund unused monthly fee.

@pharmlover: theyre not legal. everytime they send you the email demanding payment, just kindly refer them to australian consumer law and that a service cannot be charged if not provided and if they continue to request payment you will be sending a complaint to the ACCC. they instantly apologize and say they'll wipe the account because they know they cant get away with it

They also ise CGNAT and some reports online mention that while you can opt out, they automatically opt you back in using cgnat every few days

@xis123 - what latency you getting on this service

Mine was horrendously bad in QLD when I was using them

they route through Syd. so if you're in any other state, you're basically screwed. im in VIC and get 20-30ms+ ping since being with arctel

CGNAT, for those interested. A deal breaker for some (many?).
Superloop, free dynamic IP upon request.

The most easiest churning among others i.e. health insurance, Credit Card etc.
1. No long forms to fill
2. No income verification
.
.
.
Same - which is why I switched to Carbon Comms last year. Great prices, fixed IP and aussie owned with a local call centre.

I know a bloke that churns NBN and mobile deals like crazy to save $10 a month.
He uses the savings to buy pokemon cards that he hoards… living at his parents granny.

honestly the process isn't that hard, you get a unique ID and it's so much easier

Any love for people trapped on FTTN?

Strata FTW

25/10: $45
50/20: $65
100/20: $69
100/40: $85Feels rather bad when someone can be on 5x the speed for the same price. The Strata Manager here (I'm a renter) refused to even put it to the owners to see if they wanted to look at the MDU fibre upgrade because "no one has had any issues with the current internet". They also accidentally emailed me the bank statement for the Strata with over 110k in the kitty. I even offered to kick in $1500 to cover half the tenants myself despite being only a tenant.
They don't have issues because I got a contractor out to rewire the MDF(?) after about 8 different dropout/speed faults. Somehow connecting and downloading at 123/45mbps on FTTN so it's not all bad but sheeeesh.

I’m located in Queensland and every motion raised by an owner will get pushed to the committee. Pushing it as a motion on the AGM will ensure that it makes it to all owners.
I was on the committee trying to push this agenda for the past 3 years and it’s been completely fruitless. It gets to quote stage and NBNco scares the committee with a worst case of $80k without even attending the site and the committee starve it of oxygen.
The issue is that we don’t even have an MDF, we have direct wiring via pits and pipe which are owned by NBNco (ex-telecom) so we should be treated as “standalone dwellings”.

Same, I’m trapped until NBN decide to finally pull the plug on FTTN and force us to upgrade to FTTP.

Can you set a delayed start to the service? 30 days?
Just renewed with Amaysim :(

Yeah had the same query, just checked with customer support: “ The expected activation date can be set for one month from the date that the order is placed. ”

Be aware with Superloop you'll need 30 notice for cancellation

Yes, that's what I did…

When their NBN is not so amazing…. high latency to anywhere, even local web lag like 12/1Mbps on 500/50 plan, can't wait to port out after cashback.

I thought it was just me, same experience

Are you referring to Amaysim? Yeah I'm on their 500/50 plan on promo, and initially there were micro drop outs then didn't bother me, until the Xmas break and we had a couple of days (nights) where it just crashed to a crawling speed… will be looking to churn out ASAP after TCB CB!

Yes, the drop out over the Xmas happened to me too, always around 1AM till next day, the thing is my mobile is also on Amaysim… it get me puzzled when I tried hotspot and even 4G is faster than 500/50 NBN.

Weird, I've been having one of my best experiences with Amaysim so far. Doesn't miss a beat. Time to churn is coming though. Probs going for that Superloop deal. I was considering Arctel at some point until I read all the negative reviews.

+1 same experience for me

I experienced latest. I signed up the Black Friday deal and delayed the activation by 28 days. In these days I moved from the old apartment to the new one. And on the 26th day I thought I'd check with Superloop to update my new address so the churn-in is no problem. Got told by the customer support that the old order needs to be canceled and I needed to place a new order at whatever rate that's available now.

What happen if you're on origin nbn? Can you still get this deal?

Yeah, by churning to Superloop

🤣

My area has opticomm (sadly no nbn) would the cashback still work? Thanks in advance

nbn only for cashback.

Signed up yesterday to the ultra plan (1000mbps) but getting only 480mbps through the day. Any suggestions? Chat was useless (turn off nbn router)

call again and speak with someone else.

Chat was useless ok, but are you enjoying the 'cheap' price?

Check cable if it is CAT6 or if CAT5E, maybe 1 or 2 pins bend which reduce speed.

You may have to get a new router for speeds closer to 1000Mbps.
- What is the brand and model number of the router?
- Are you connected to 5GHz Wi-Fi or Ethernet cable?

I have FTTP. Was with Leaptel and was consistently getting 800mps+. Using TP link Deco mesh.

Are you using the TP-Link Deco built-in speedtest or something else?

I'm an exiting customer and just rang up to ask them to match the deal for 1000/100 but best they can do is $95

I might see what they can do on live chat for me, if that fails I'll call.
I'm currently $89 for 750mbps, but that's something I negotiated with them when I switched to an FTTP plan
Better off calling. Chat can't generally do much I've found.
When you call you'll call the generic billing line usually, ask what they can do for you. They'll say nothing sorry. Threaten to leave. They'll leave to speak to someone else.. Come back to you and say 'going to transfer you to our retention team' who can usually offer 5-10 bucks off at most.. In the past I've done this and got much better deals but 5-10 is the best I can get discounted these days.
They keep running these new customer only deals and it really shits me when I've been with them for half a decade and can't do anything for me. I know company loyalty hasn't been rewarded for years now but.. At least give a permanent 5 bucks off or something after x period. Idk. Something lol

not sure if it's been posted here, but they also no offer free speed boosts on their business plans.
