Amazon seem to be price matching, e.g. https://www.amazon.com.au/Roche-Posay-Anthelios-Ultra-SPF50-…

    $21.59 with subscribe and save

Wow only 50ml! Wouldnt last long

      • I have the invisible fluid one it is great. 50mL is tiny though

      • +1

        About a month

  • of course, after i bought a Cerave :(

    • +26

Looks like you gotta curb your ceravings

    • you can return if you have receipt and purchase again. Normally I dont do this but this way you can have an excuse to go back to the store to purchase more and stock up so it lasts you till the next sale.

    Got the other amazon deal
    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B00ILWDKUQ?psc=1&smid=ANEGB3WVE…

Expensive stuff but one of the few that lives up to its billing:-

    https://www.choice.com.au/health-and-body/beauty-and-persona…

    • Choice did not test this sunscreen. It was the "wet skin" variant tested. "La Roche-Posay Anthelios Wet Skin Sunscreen 50+ passed at $8.04 per dose"

    • +1

What choice tested looks like this - https://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/148703/la-roche-posa…

Its also 200ml for 27.99 at CWH sale as opposed to 23.99 for 50ml on amazon sale you listed?

Thanks for the choice link though, now I know what to buy and what to avoid.

the anthelios sunscreens are great. you won't accidentally spill half the bottle, unlike the popular watery la roche posay sunscreen. not too sticky and doesnt burn my eyes if i put it on my forehead

        • Have problems with sun screen that burn my eyes. So do I have to specifically choose the one with "Formulated For Sensitive Eyes" or all LRP sunscreen products do not sting?

Because I checked the CW and the only LRP with that "Formulate For Sensitive Eyes" is for dry skin - and my skin is oily.

        • Thanks for the tip, I hate sunscreen for the reasons you mentioned and am yet to find one I'm happy with.

      • Damn doesnt seem like this one is on ozb

    • Dang bought last month at $25

  • +1

Damn.. they used to offer SnS with my cream, https://www.amazon.com.au/Roche-Posay-Toleriane-Protective-M… but looks like no dice.. May as well get from CW then..

It's the only facial cream I can use long term that helps keep my Perioral Dermatitis at bay. Some will work for a while but then my skin overcompensates again , but the Sensitive version of Toleraine is thin enough to not cause this issue.

Highly recommend for someone with facial dermatitis - you don't need much either, spread thinly, and it'll last longer that way too! 40ml is tiny!

    • Been using Lipilar Baume AP for simple dryness and Cicaplast B5 for more itchy spots. They work fine for me for as long as I regularly use them.

Would you say Toleriane is better than Cicaplast?

      • The only cicaplast I use is the lip one. And it's great for right before bed. Keeps me from getting cracked lips as I sleep (read: snore/mouth breathe).

I've tried cicaplast on my face before as well but it's just too thick for me personally. A dermatologist told me sometimes we try to over moisturise, hence she recommended the Creme (not the riche), as it's a thinner formula.. It works for me but I can't say if any is better than the other as it's too dependant on your own skin/genetics and even what you eat/environment.

You'd probably want a thicker one if you're always exposed to elements for example to help stop your skin drying out, but I wfh/work in IT so that's not a factor for me.

I only visited a dermatologist once, and I've not really had to go again since. I get head scalp issues occasionally but do have a basic steroid for that which I only really need to use once or twice in affected spots every 1-2 weeks max.

        • +1

For face I recently started using the Cicaplast spray and it is much easier to work with but isn’t very economical.

          • @OldSchoolHarry: More or less same boat. Cicaplast B5 Is way too thick that my combination skin start to overcompensate. I have to mix it with a moisturiser and keep apply the minimum amount. I’m also looking at the spray that supposed to be lighter and stuck at the same place the spray is much more expensive on the run.

This brand name always makes me laugh

    • +8

Yeah who doesn't like some cheap Posay?

      • +1

Sounds like La Porsche posay, might be expensive.

        • +1

Yeah. Sigh…. Always the way. Smooth ones are more high maintenance.

    • We got Cat Posay, Dog Posay, Chicken Posay…We got Roach Posay! If you can find cheaper Posay anywhere else, buy it!

  • +1

What is a cheap and effective sunscreen for body? For face I am using Hamilton SPF 50+ Everyday Face

    • +1

Cancer Council - always get the pump bottle when on sale. The matt one for daily use and have just the regular one with better water proof in the car.

I use the Hamilton SPF 50+ face too. I find it a good balance. There is prob better ones out there. but dont really wont to spend a lot if Im going to later my arms and legs ha

    • +1

I like Dermaveen and Cancer Council Kids. I've got sensitive skin, so I find these good.

      • The kids scored well

    • We personally enjoy Goat Soap sunscreen ! It's not the cheapest, though it's far cheaper than LRP.

It's not super greasy but it doesn't smell bad. So far it's been pretty solid for us!

  • +1

This brand name always reminds me of The Inbetweeners - Posay Patrol

    • +2

      Briefcase wanka.

  • This is the time to stock up for the year

    • +2

it was actually cheaper last deal

      • I think this is the last chance tho

        • nah it's on sale very often between priceline and CW. interesting thing is that it's way cheaper here than france

        • time to stock up for the year

You mean, this Jan 2026 sale is the last sale there'll be for 2026? Wut.

          • +2

@illumination: In terms of CeraVe, it doesnt come on special that often so it's a good time to stock up. No, i'm not making a massive statement about their sales intentions

    • +1

They also have 50% deals sometimes.

I messed up my hands as a chef doing dishes with harsh detergents and my hands get dried up and flares up once in a while even with home dish detergents. Le Roche-Posay Cicaplast hand cream is only thing that can soothe and heal my hands overnight. Highly recommend.

    • It's great. and seems to go really far. I got a 100ml bottle back over 2 years ago that is just about to run out. Obviously not constant usage but yeah

    • Anything similar but also for the face?

      • +1

Stupid, just looked - Baume B5+

        • +1

This has been the only product that has helped on my face. I'm quite allergic to some foods and wine and my face gets red and itchy. The Baume B5 has been a live saver

          • +1

@tnarg: thanks, bought some. Will try it.

    • +1

Something with urea to sooth the skin in the moisturiser really helped me and then dimethicone to protect it from the outside did wonders for me. Not even the cisciplast one helped my condition

I will be trying the CeraVe one with urea and dimethicone link

    • +1

For an alternative for anyone else, for hand/feet we personally use Hamilton Urederm! Usually around 10 bucks for 100g but the 225g is better value usually around 15-17.

Was recommended to us from a podiatrist and works really well still for hands. Though we were ultimately told anything with 10% urea would do the job if we had a different preference.

      • Urederm is great

  • Both these brands are owned by L'Oreal FYI with CeraVe being the more ozbargain friendly value option

Ends 14 Jan, got mods to update it for you :)

  • How does the sunscreen from La Roche compare to the standard Ombra 50spf from Aldi?

    Anyone used both can comment?

  • looks like a rip off, I buy Cerave hand cream every few months and it has been around $10~$12 since 2023.

    • From CW too?

      • yep. I have been using it quite a lot. The last time I bought it was the end of 2025 which was $12.

  • Been waiting for this sale. Wife uses the invisible spray… got 3 bottles which should last her the year… plus 2% cashback from HSBC.

    • Well, I like the sound of it. How did you convince her to be invisible?

  • Why LRP is so expensive? what are other alt?

    • +1

You can compare products at Skinsort and do things like search for ingredients.

    • +1

because people will buy it, although arguably some are worth it, the markup is ridiculous.

although they do have some patented uv filters like mexoryl SX, XL, and 400 soon to be released in australia probably.
