  • damn 24 months, i closed the prev acct on 28/06/2025

  • this or the amplify qantas signature?

    • +1

I would say the top-tier card (in this case, the Signature) is usually the better option as you usually get an extra ~20,000 Qantas Points for only an extra ~$100-$200, plus a better QP/$ rate. But whether the bank will approve the top-tier card is a separate matter altogether, so ultimately depends on your annual income and credit history.

      • $15k minimum credit limit - ouch

      • So fee from existing is $174, I thought I saw it was $99, looks like edited recently.

Thus this platinum nets slightly higher points per dollar compared to the black card.

For existing customers this one has a much better point to fee ratio than the signature card. However given the exclusion periods, you may weigh the total bonus points as more important for you than the fee difference. Extra 20k points for $125 (combined fee 174 Vs 300 for existing customers)

If you're not an existing customer you can create a free transaction account with them very quickly to save some dollars on the fee

signature card has reduced fee for existing customer as well from $295 to $200

        • Quite right. With the reduced fee, I think these are both quite good offers on QFF given the general state of churning

Yep. Still disqualified within the 24 months…

  • +2

    Bit misleading …
    $175 Annual card fee
$75 Annual Qantas Rewards Program fee
So the annual free is actually $250.

Who’s gonna get this card and not get the rewards program

Title updated, I just copied from the previous deal.

        Wasn’t a crack you :)
        more at St. George/Westpac…

  • These 24 month disqualification periods are ridiculous, especially when the same bank owns multiple companies. This coupled with "up to x points" (more if you pay another annual fee) It's incredibly difficult to get points club plus anymore.

  • How do STG go with pro rata fee refunds?

    • Tried several times over the last few years with no luck. Both chats and calls.

    • Closed my Amplify Qantas recently and was told the annual fee can only be refunded within 14 days of it being charged.

I didn't bother calling multiple times to see if different agents said the same thing.

  • applied 2 times in the past before and rejected both times. they cracking down on churners

  • +2

Terrible application process compared to other providers

  • St George seems have improved their approval process. Partner just applied for the Amplify Platinum Visa and got approved instantly without need to submit payslips. Didn't do the online bank validation as well. St George isn't our main bank - only have a debit account with a few dollars in it.

  • How and where to use QFF?
How much is 70k worth in $$?

  • would they grant the bonus point as soon as you spend $4000, or after 3 months?

    • +1

IIRC, the bonus points were granted in the following statement period after you spent the required amount

      • great! thx for the info bro!

  • "Eligible purchases do not include interest, fees and charges, cash or ATM cash advances, cash equivalent transactions, gambling transactions, a purchase from or payment to a local, state or federal government or government related agency, BPAY or similar transactions (such as Post Billpay), refunds and balance transfers debited from the card account"

Does it mean council rates and land tax payments don't count?
