Happy New Year All. $200 per fuel credit is back from AGL. Rate seemed to be better than my latest churning supplier.
AGL may exclude accounts from receiving more than one upfront credit per fuel in any 12-month period.

Is it?
Any Econnex deals atm?
Not for me in VIC
This credit is only available on this AGL Special Saver plan, and unfortunately Econnex only offer the AGL Smart Saver plan.
Helpful to know. Thank you
yeah same here in NSW, not stackable
Shows AGL Smart Saver plan on Econnex. I am in Qld.
damn im existing… hmmm maybe switch out and back in a week?
Doesn't work like that
why not? currently my parent with AGL so change them over to some other provider for a week and then churn back as a customer to AGL? no?
12 month exclusion period
Per T&Cs:
AGL may exclude accounts from receiving more than one upfront credit per fuel in any 12-month period.
Bugga!
can you re churn back to AGL like you can with PHI and NBN after xxx month? I feel I have gone through most of the gas providers.
$200 credit is nice, but having to wait 90 days is a bit rough. If it was to stack with an Econnex signup offer then that would be a winner.
Same. I'm HODL'ing for a better eConnex stackable deal with a 30/45 day hold.
You'll have to wait for 90
I'm in NSW is there a Econnex sign up offer? If so, how do i sign up?
not all of f-ing QLD is covered!
Any cash back cash rewards for this also?
whats the policy to be considered new customers?
You were born on or after 2026-01-01 and are not currently a customer.
Is this targeted? When I went through the link it referenced a particular person’s name. Then at the submit stage it just spat out an unknown error. Tried a couple of times.
Might be a targeted link that they send out to previous customers. I'm not seeing any details of a name when trying to sign up though?
EDIT: Looks like others are getting an Alexander somehow.
Yes, that’s the name that came up for me as well.
link is to someone's referral….
This isn't a referral link but may be a targeted link that they send out to previous customers.
Not working, site crashes when I attempt to submit the application.
describes basically everything about agl. :)
So I just signed up today to add a new meter and sign up to the agl. I called to sign up.. they didn’t tell me anything about rates or anything. Just told me that I would receive the account number in 3 days . Wth
It's seemingly a targeted deal. When I tried to submit I had a message come up with something along the lines of "failed to retrieve your data"

Yep, me too, I went all the way thru, feeling merry and confident, only to be humiliated at the end, "can't access data"
Rates are higher than my current provider, not worth to move in and out. $200 can not cover 2 * "disconnect fee"
what disconnect fee?
you don't pay disconnect fee for switching providers
They do now. They charge as they need to come out and do an interim meter read.
Disconnect fee is fee passed on from your distributor when you want all power disconnected from your house (eg when renovating for example). Does not apply to swapping retailers.
@singingwolf: That is correct. There is NO disconnect fee when moving from one supplier to another. It only applies if you want the premises to be disconnected i.e. no power to premises.
There is NO Charge for them to come and do a Meter Read unless you specifically ask for one. The read fee for churning between suppliers is absorbed by them.
Confirmed eligibility with the agent who also signed me up via chat
why did you think you weren't eligible?
The offer states: “Credit offer for new and moving NSW, QLD, SA and VIC residential customers.”
I am a former customer, but I left AGL more than 12 months ago.
means existing customers also can switch to this plan and get credit?
No, I believe existing customers are not eligible, and customers who left within the last 12 months are also ineligible.
ah if its customers who left in 12 months not eligible then yeah pretty sly of AGL - where does this state it though?
also from their website "*Offer for residential AGL customers who activate by 31 Dec 2025 via AGL My Account or the AGL app and join BP Rewards Unlocked." lol
geez feed in 1cents now - they definitely getting stingy nowadays
are you in NSW ? yeah i regret getting solar :( where should we move to get better feed in ??? im sydney south west
yep we must be neighbours then lol
can't get anywhere better, I had credit with AGL at that time but before they got sly and bought ampol, they had 7c feed in but yep no more high feed in
i'm just waiting until they charge us for sending back to the grid - hopefully that doesn't happen
looking a battery solutions now..
I got the invite email and says 1c but then says 4c.

I've never churned electricity or gas before. Any tips on setting end date of old provider and start date of the new one to avoid loss of service? Also, I've read in several places that you should time the switch between gas providers to coincide with meter reads. What's that about? Trying to decide whether churning elec/gas is worth the effort (I already churn health insurance and credit cards)
You won’t lose service. The retailer will manage a seamless transition for you. Technically, they will simply move the billing from one company to another.
Damn it I wasn't with AGL, but they bought out my retailer and transitioned all its customers to them so now I am an existing customer again
with who - ampol?
Yeah Ampol. AGL always gets you in the end
you still under ampol though even though its been bought by AGL and still got the 7 cents feed in right?
my friend is the same but dont believe AGL has changed the rates which is odd considering I would have thought they would to be sly mofos
@prankster: Nah they've abolished the Ampol branding and bills come from AGL now.
They have retained the same plan with 7c feed in for now, I'm out as soon as they change it
Had signed up for AGL a week ago ($100 Electricity Credit) but the start date is 16/01. Can I still switch to this offer?
if you are in the cooling off window period, i would call AGL and say, upgrade me to this new plan, else i'll cancel the current application and go with my existing provider then i'll just apply for this promo a couple of days later - your call lol
People might want to hit up Origin Energy if they've recently left them. Got offered $100 credit after 30 days, and then another $100 credit after 90 days, plus a 21% reduction in the next bill if I returned to them. Turned it down as I'm halfway through a $200 offer from Econnex with Red Energy.
They spam call you?
$100 credit and $100 credit after 90 days is pretty good, should cover at least 1 quarter bill free-ish (assuming have solar panels) then move to next provider
Yeah…I've had a bunch of missed messages over the past few days from them. Finally answered it today. I wouldn't be surprised if new customers could also negotiate something with them if they are that desperate. I might call them again once I've done my 45 days with Red Energy and see if they'll still offer it.
I contacted them via email as my energy bill increased significantly since last quarter.
Been with them for at least six years and asked if they could offer me a better rate before I start looking and was told they couldn’t do anything.
Were you only contacted after leaving?
Yeah, I got a bunch of phone calls two weeks after I'd already left.
AGL tried this with me last year and it resulted in a very comical phone call with me explaining to them how much of a better deal my latest churn was.
Origin are becoming pretty bad. I’m with them, I got an email Gas is being renewed and they chosen my new plan automatically. Once I checked, they put me in the most expensive plan.
I moved to AGL last year and origin bent backwards with credit and better rates. I called them last week asking for a better deal and they said sorry to hear you are considering leaving. I said, put me onto your loyalty, retention team. They said it doesn’t exist?
they cannot find my address LOL
Don’t think they serve anyone from the outback 😋
Thanks OP ! Signed up.
Endeavour Energy electricity connection
$63.69
Jemena Gas gas connection
$18.70
Do they charge this for moving in to a different property?
they shouldn't since people always churn between providers nowadays
The wording on the page is "Get $… when you switch back to AGL energy". Does this mean the deal applies to previous customers only?
It also says "Offer for new and moving residential customers"
Confusing…
Unable to claim it

same errror :(
Not eligible as I'm currently with AGL. Been thinking about the Origin Affinity Variable ePlus offer on One Big Switch. The rates seem good, 17% below reference price. $100 bill credit per fuel, $50 gift card, stay 4 months. Any better ideas? I have been with Powershop, Momentum and Red in last 12 months.
I'm currently on a single tariff. Just checked this AGL deal will move me to a demand tariff. Both are 19% off reference price. Anyone know if I'll essentially be charged the same assuming normal usage?
why would they move you to a demand tariff? is this shown when you try to sign up online?
thought moving between tariffs requires the energy provider to do some remote/manual adjustment on your meter box
Yea it shows as demand tariff when I sign up online with AGL with OP's link. I'd prefer not to have a demand tariff, but $400 seems pretty enticing. Can I go back to single after with my current provider?
Usually the distributor designates your area as demand tariff, so you get stuck when changing.
I was on a single rate tariff plan with Red Energy, churned to a single rate tariff plan with Powershop, eventually churned back to Red Energy (via econnex sign up) to be told that my area is now only available as an on demad tariff (Red Energy blamed Endeavour Energy for the designation).
@darkly: Yea that's what I was afraid of. No idea why AGL's offer is advertising with demand tariff for my address when their competitors aren't. Sadness
@Flintz: if u have an old ANALOG meter they cannot put u on demand tarrif.
u must have a DIGITAL meter for it to be an option.
hence, avoid upgrading ur meter.
I signed up directly with a chat member. They manually applied the $200 offer.
Rates are slightly better than Origin so it's a no brainer for me.
The chat agent refused to do so and canceled my current cool-off period plan, asking me to sign up separately. I am unable to do so.
All depends who you get, try another operator
Done, thanks
For those having issues with the above link, this one seems to still work with the same rates for me.
https://www.agl.com.au/residential/energy/compare-plans/ener…
It's only $0.01 FIT for me, but I switched plans again to one with a higher FIT, and kept the $200 credit per energy as confirmed on their online chat.
Not available for Victoria
I can confirm the link works. Thanks a lot. I’m with Engie for Gas and Energy Australia for electricity. I churned to AGL for Gas to claim the $200 in 90 days.
End up getting this offer by calling them. Briefly explained the online "failed to retrieve your data" issue and what is the offer about. They applied the $200+$200 credits to you.
Are you saying they manually applied the crediting the spot AND you see you had the credit immediately on your account?
Econnex stackable
