There have been cheap trays of strawberries over the last month at various grocers, but I haven't posted if it's just one store specific or going quickly at Harris Farm.
Today's strawberry trays of 15x 250g Punnets for $7.99 are not overly ripe but won't last until the end of the day in today's weather at the front of the store. There are also individual punnets for $1.66 as well.
Check your local and comment here if there are equivalent as well.
Down here in Melbourne it's 3 for $2 everywhere in local markets.
Quality is much better than Coles/WW/Aldi.

NYE a local grocer had trays of 4kg (8x 500g) - huge strawberries for $10 - that is 62c per 250g punnet; yesterday it was same price for smaller strawberries, but very sweet.

There were saveme large KP mango packs (good condition) of 3 for $3 in store. If you can't do maths, there were saveme boxes of 9 for $15.
My local IGA had some raspberries punnets on clearance this week - have to be eaten or frozen same day.
Mangoes are already on sale. It was $9 per tray the other day and I managed to get it for $6 when it was almost closing time
Does anyone else think this season's strawberries have been much sweeter, flesh more red and less white top?

I wonder how long if takes an experienced picker to pick a tray of strawberries. When I played about in a pick your own farm it was about an hour and I had to pay for them too.
