  • I don't purchase from Temu much, besides the stated T&Cs are there other things I should know about?

E.g. does the system apply vouchers so that you automatically get the best price (which would void cashback)?

    • +2

Don't apply coupon codes. They'll auto apply at checkout and you'll have to remove them.

      • Got caught on auto add last time cancelled order

      • TEMU coupons don’t matter. It will still track and pay out.

        • It never used to be that way. I had cashback rejected previously for that reason

  • +1

Anyone else remember in the 90s when we thought supporting sweatshops and child labour was bad?

I guess now we care more about the cost.

    • +4

Where else can we get electronics not made in China?

      • Anything specific you are referring too?

99% of the products on Temu are shit, don't meet basic safety standards or are highly flammable and will in a short time end up in landfill.

The only way they can sell for those prices is if workers are being exploited.

Just because you don't see it, doesn't mean it isn't happening.

        • +2

We're sorry, but we're not like you and other people who can afford more expensive items. Simply, this is what we can afford.

        • +2

For certain electronics, sure. Would not trust. I am very selective and make informed purchases 95% of the time. I'm no advocate of offshoring everything like has been done but reality is the ship has sailed and we are slaves to our own cultural greed, stupidity and hypocrisy driving up our costs of living, energy and infrastructure. Virtue signalling aside, we're only getting collectively dumber and more selfish in basically every facet of life so its unlikely to change. It is what it is. So be it.

A lot of what is on Temu and similiar is also sold at online here and even brick n more stores, either rebranded or slight modifications. I've bought stacks of things from solar lights, christmas lights, plethora of baby stuff, toys, tools and garage stuff, furniture, bedding, all manner of things that are effectively the same or very similar to that sold here anyway but with these cashbacks become much cheaper. China gets the money regardless, but more coin left in my pocket for my family.

    • +7

You mean the same 90s where Nike became one of the most well known shoe companies on earth?

    • +2

You're more likely to be supporting sweatshops and child labour practices by trying to avoid Chinese manufacturing these days.

    • Maybe you and your generation shouldn't have voted for the duopoly Lib-Lab tag team who signed us up to the Colombo Plan and Agenda 21 and progressively sold out the country and our childrens' futures to the lowest bidders.

      • if you think pauline is going to save you then you are deluded!

        • I don't think that. Why would you think that?

  • So if i buy a dji camera , $500 = 300 after cash back?

    • +1

Unless cashback doesn't track or warranty doesn't exist, etc.

    • +5

It isn't a flat 40% Cashback. When I purchased from 50% Cashback deal ended up being around 42.5%

    • +1

      Opposite.

Spend $100 get $40 back. (it's actually a bit less but you get the idea)

    • Shopback + Temu = disappointment, don’t count on them. Small amounts seemed mostly ok tracking and paid out (not always). Larger amounts tend not to track or rejected when pay out is due. Happened to me twice already.

  • +1

Please beware of traps, especially if you're a kid or lack self control. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/943601

    • Better to read the T&C's before falling for the trap

    • What in the hell is that guy even trying to communicate, beyond 'its a trap' ? … Genuinely indecipherable what experience he's trying to communicate.

  • +6

I would avoid it like plague, last similar deal, it said at the end that my order was tracked and then nothing in the track as well as click history, their support is keep telling me how to get right rather than explaining why it didn't track in spite of me providing them with a screenshot as proof of tracking.

    Disappointing!!

    • mine had no problem tracking, that was the first time using shopback to, i ended up getting $62 cashback which has now been transfered to my bank account

      • +1

it must have been my 50th may be so I should know by now how to use it but they won't agree and failed to justify why it didn't go through.

        • +1

that sucks, i am new to cashback, so didn't know what to expect to be honest
they could have at least gave you a valid explanation

  • +1

Is there a way to block Temu from coming up when I search for something. It dominates the results. I can't be bothered with the spinning wheel and other crap

    • Run superantispyware the free version .

  • +5

Hold for 50%……..? Bargain edging!!!! I don't know if I can make it!!! 💦😩🤣🤣🤣

    • +4

Your fellow ozbargainers are here to support you!
      I am holding out for 60%! 🤣

      • +2

        100% or bust 💥

        • +2

That’s new customers only. Already did that and it cost $5 for a $40 item through Cashrewards a couple of years ago.

    • +1

I’ve got twenty things on my Wishlist so this ~35% cashback minus the $6 farmland coupon is good enough for a bunch of crappy stuff I’ll probably use.

I’ll buy another golf wedge or a set of fake p790s when the next 50% comes around though.

  • +2

Do people actually play the stupid wheel game when they open the app? I literally spend way more time exiting from the wheel than shopping.

    • Hell no

    • Nope. I don’t use the app for this reason hahaah
      Always their website.

    • +4

I always leave their site in frustration. If they didn't have that crap I probably would have bought a lot more.

  • Anyone know if this type of promo will invalidate cashback? It's a promo that was automatically applied to my item and I can't find any discount code for me to remove. https://imgur.com/a/Drd8l5c

    • This won't invalidate.

    • @cheapass88 could you confirm?

    • +1

It won't invalidate and you can't remove it.

  • +1

I got a $60 cashback last time but half the items where rubbish, return 2 items = no cashback

    • Saw that item tracked separately, by returning some items will affect the others?

    • +1

Yeah sometimes it's better to keep items rather than returning, depending how much cashback is at stake.

  • +4

Their app is designed to trap you. Confuse you to no ends. Endless terms and conditions.

    • +3

I got sucked into their crappy farmland game, thought I'd be getting free stuff but got nothing after putting in stupid amounts of hrs

      • I finished farmland once and got 3 items plus one time they just gave me one item to keep me using it. I still use it regularly to get the daily coupons. Got $6 off a $59 spend today

        • +4

(they actually just increase prices shown to your account by a little bit to offset that $6 off)

          • @xrailgun: I’ve noticed that some things are more expensive when I go to order. I also had a 1c item from the haggle button mashing thing I did yesterday so it’s not always more.

I know it’s all a scam but it’s pretty decent value with the cashback. I wouldn’t buy otherwise.

  • +2

    Snagged one of the 2 Bamboo Lab P1S Combo's. There's a P1S without AMS left $629 - cashback

    • Tracked yet? I ordered a non combo and haven’t seen anything yet.

      • Not yet, received verification call <10 min ago from temu so make sure your phone isn't screening unknown callers or your order will be declined.
If no tracking after 5pm today then time to stress.

      • just tracked now

        • Nice what did it come out to with AMS, was $410 without.

  • +1

Thanks op!!! Does this track from the temu app ok? And should we use the shopback app to link through to it or website is ok?

    • Realise now it’s to use the shopback app and temu runs within the app (better than having to get the temu app so that’s a win!)

  • +1

Any reason (App) is specified? Just clarifying if via browser is valid?

    • +1

      app only

    • No, if it is mentioned clearly via app only.

      • Just clarifying that's the shop back app, not the temu app (if you can even get cashback via the temu app lol).

    • only the app

  • If I remove the items out of my checkout basket, then click the link will they then being included or will they still be exempt

    • +3

Clear your cart, click through, fill your cart and pay is fine. Alternatively add those products to your wishlist, click through, add to cart from wishlist and pay.

      • Just unclick order in cart then click order after cashback log on ?

        • +1

Products can't be in your cart if you want them to track.

  • Allpowers R1500 Lite Portable Power Station 1600W/1056Wh $498 before cashback

    • Never heard of this brand. Are they any good?

      • Years ago they had a 299Wh unit for $199 and people had to return under warranty with the replacements crapping out. A recent deal had bad feedback too

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/933485

In saying that I have a VTOMAN that's been solid while others have complained. YMMV.

      • Nope, returned one after it kept randomly shutting down while connected to power.

        Try Ecoflow, they are good.

        • Yeah I have considered all the poor feedback and the low low price and thought it was a bit of a gamble, hopefully it will pay off as just as many people have had no issues

          • @Brick50: Fair enough! I’m only buying it for a power outage so when I need it I’ll really need it! And I wouldnt use it enough beforehand to know it’s dodgy. So will hold out for 60% and an eco flow sale

            • @Tdsr: Good luck, I caved after waiting 6 weeks or so for Ecoflow. Even with 50% cashback I didn’t see any eco flows worth buying

(River 2 was $349 on temu, its been $199 before on eBay)

        • +1

@bargain_finder @Clear @Tdsr I received it today, has a whining noise which is highly irritating. Also appears to be no RCM mark on it which makes me super uncomfortable having it inside. Returning it ASAP.

          • @Brick50: Thanks for the update! Really appreciate it. What are you planning to go with now?

            • @Tdsr: Probably nothing IMO, the EcoFlow is way too dear for me so I might just consider paying to get whole house backup for my house instead ($2kish) as I was going to use this primarily as a UPS for my server.

Equivalent EcoFlow is $899 which is nearly double the price as the Allpowers and nearly half the cost of having my entire house backed up haha.

    • Did it track ?

  • +1

Anyone know how is their portable blu ray drive?

  • +1

My last 2 purchases via the SB app didn't track. Lodged a ticket, it tracked, but at half the rate. Had to go through hoops and hoops just to get a real agent to open a ticket. Might lay off SB for a while.

  • What are the best options when it comes to phones on temu? Currently looking at the iphone 14 referb for $564.03 or an OLED display

    • ended up getting an Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max referb AU$1,158, found the newer models are better priced and would hold more value.

    AskHand Mini PC AMD Ryzen 5 5600H 6 Core 12 Threads (4.2GHz) Operating System Pro/WiFi 6/BT-5.2/Type-C & HDTV 4K@60Hz 3 Screen Output, Home/Office/Gaming PC Dual Channel RAM 32GB, 16GB SSD 1TB, 512GB

    16GB RAM / 512GB SSD : $421.59 (~$275 after cashback)
    32GB RAM / 1TB SSD : $538.74 (~$350 after cashback)

Title says "Operating System Pro" and that's the only mention of an operating system I can see so not sure if it includes Windows or some other "Pro" OS.

Sold by AskHand on Temu and shipped from local warehouse. May be the same products AskHand is selling on Amazon and may possibly even be delivered by Amazon.

Why do so many Mini PCs have weird names? Do they just use a random word generator to combine 2 words and call it a job well done or is it translation gone wrong?

    • I purchased 32gb version for $480 back in Dec..60% cashback..been using since a month and it’s damn good deal!

    • Why do so many Mini PCs have weird names

      Amazon requires a brand name.

  • +1

ayyy $40 min spend is killing me

  • +4

HODL. MAKE EM JACK IT UP TO 50%

    DO NOT BUY ANYTHING…

    • +1

Last time they did 40% it was 20/04 and they did 50% at 24/04 so just wait few days.

Also: They had 70% for new temu customers back in March 2025, that is wild and hope they do something like that soon.

      • There was a 100% back in the day

        • Surely there was a limit tho

      • +1

It may be 50% on the 16th. But let's see

will this mean i will not be eligible for the 40% cash back ?? if so ill just cancel the order

  • Damn I checked out just after 6 but clicked on the link before 6

    Does that qualify?

    • 25% as per the original post

  • I had a mind blank and can't remember if I paid via the Shopback app or website so I'm on the verge of cancelling.

I definitely saw the 40% off, but does anyone know if you'd see the 40% off on the website too?

Is there a way to check?
