Are you associated to the product? The price just went up yesterday and how can it be a bargain?

    • No, I am not. What was it yesterday?

  • -2

this seems to be a better option $50 if you don't mind LCD not AMOLED? (and no GNSS positioning)

LCD, smaller battery and lower body to screen ratio.

    • +1

      Amazon link is dead.

    • +10

no way you'd choose thicker bezels, worse battery and LCD over AMOLED, especially a watch where it matters most. it's $16 more

      • -4

Unlike AMOLED, LCD don't deteriorate over time, no?

        • +1

LCD uses more power, so no "always on display".

        • +3

OLED screens have been in phones for the longest time. I haven't experienced burn in on a phone since the Galaxy S5.

          • +4

@heef: Thank you for saying this! So tired of hearing that OLED has burn in issues all the time.

It comes down to how you use it! My S10 is fine, no burn ins at all.

    • Got the watch 5 lite for $50 when buying with a powerbank during last sale

Which is just a copy of the Sony smartwatch if you want to be like that.

Court filings in the Samsung case suggest Jony used Sony designs for sketches since 2005.

      • -8

        Huh? No way.. Apple
Discovered Apple Watch the way Tesla started EV and all
        Copy teslas look and feel
        Like byd etc

      • +1

        Jony used Sony

I take it he copied their name also? Lol

    • +6

But with better battery life 😅

      • -1

But lacks that “Apple Watch prestigious feeling” lolzzzZzz. That’s significant for wearing “brand”
        “Richness” lolzzzZzzz

    • It's a watch with a blank face.

      Hows that original.

Or how are you supposed to make it original on a touch screen watch.

I got the active. Its actually great for the price if you don't need it to be waterproof for swimming. My Garmin Fenix 6 pro heart rate monitor wasn't working anymore - out of warranty. Thought I'd try the redmi 5 active. The heart rate monitor is on par with the Garmin. App is okay for the price

    • +4

Comparing a Fenix Pro to Redmi is wild

    • +3

I also have both the Fenix 6 Pro Solar and the Redmi Lite 5. Can attest they have similar performance in HR monitoring and GPS tracking. The Lite 5 easily survives the waters even with beach swimming but it’s got a full touch screen so you can’t control anything once under the water. Apart from that, it’s very light and comfortable to wear daily. Heaps of third party straps too.

      • Hey thanks for posting. I was thinking about upgrading to the lite. I mean you can't beat the Fenix with how waterproof it is. So I was wondering how well the lite would do.

        • +2

The Garmin is definitely better with their waterproof rating but for $60, I will swim the hell out of the Redmi without a sweat

  • Any thoughts on how this compares to the Amazfit smart watches e.g. GTS?

    • I don’t think amazfit has updated GTS watches for a while. Blip 6 is more expensive and I would compare it to redmi watch 5. This is much cheaper than both.

  • Got a Redmi Watch 5 Lite full size. Extremely happy with it. Battery life is more than 2 weeks

  • +2

mi vs redmi vs pro vs non pro watch? too many versions

  • +1

Can it sync well into strava e.g.?

    • +1

Syncs fine to strava through the mi fitness app

  • I think the lite version was $43 each if you bought two.

    • This is not the lite version?

  • -6

    AliExpress apple watch.

    Apple Watch on a budget.

  • Thanks Op. Just got 1 for $64.52 after I added it to cart.

Edit: the $64.52 comes up after I swap between the gold/black versions. Could be a glitch.

    • It changes from local stock to JP stock

  • Thanks I was just thinking about something like this for my boys. Was actually going to pull the trigger on the Xiaomi smart band 10 https://www.amazon.com.au/Fitness-Monitoring-Electronic-Wate… instead. My boys don't have their own phones. Any advice/thoughts? Thank you.

    • +2

The Xiaomi Smart Band 10 offers a sleeker, pill-shaped design with a bright AMOLED screen and superior battery life for core fitness tracking, while the Redmi Watch 5 Lite provides a larger square display, built-in GPS for phone-free tracking, Bluetooth calling, and a more traditional watch feel, making the Lite better for smartwatch features and the Band 10 ideal for minimalistic, long-lasting fitness tracking. Choose the Redmi Watch 5 Lite for built-in GPS and calls, and the Smart Band 10 for maximum battery and discreet fitness focus.

Got this for $50 during last bundle sale from xiaomi website. A few years ago smart watches barely lasted for a day. But this can last for weeks. I only charged mine once or twice since bought, and it still got some power left. Have to give a thumb up to this xiaomi watch unless new smart days now can perform the same. Tbf, I only check the time and use the timer.

  • +2

how can this watch have 18 days battery life? thats amazing … I have been Apple Watch buyer since inception and the single day charge is the biggest downside for me. How can Apple not be able to design a significantly improved battery life?

    • The AW acts as a standalone device with esim. That’s calls, texts, music, phone keys for cars, etc.
The Redmi needs phones nearby for music and calls so they are more energy efficient.

      • +1

It's exactly this. After having a few smartwatches taht required daily charging, I swapped to a Xiaomi fitness band and never looked back. I can handle charging once every 2-3 weeks but charging daily feels ridiculously inconvenient for something that largely handles the time and the occasional notification - particularly when a heavy usage day means the watch shuts down before the sun does…

      • +1

Not really, my Apple watch doesnt have a sim card/esim. And still battery life is 24-36hrs. I had 4 different gens over last 8-9 years. All were max 1.5days of battery life..

  • Huawei is better I thought

  • Any round in a womens style watch?

  • Anything like this that works as a bluetooth tracker?

    • Serious question. Why not just get a bluetooth tracker?

      • I have some. Just looking for something that my primary school kids might enjoy wearing.

        • If they have Google accounts… and phones… you could use these. Just add them to your Google Family. I think… THINK… they'll be added to your Find My hub.

          • @BadGiraffe: No phones. This is more for school, excursions and going into large crowded places. Totally overkill but it is piece of mind.

  • Anyone have this AND an Apple Watch? Thinking of a variety of use cases for one or the other.

  • +1

I have this watch bought from their official store on Aliexpress a while ago. Brilliant watch and works well with my S25 Ultra. My only dissapointment is limited custom watch faces.
