Residents of Australia can use China's 240-Hour Visa-Free Transit Policy without applying for a visa beforehand

You actually don't need a visa for China if you are travelling with an Australian passport and stay for up to 30 days

    • -1

and buy same stuffs much cheaper there, and don't forget the tax return…

  • +1

Hope they bring out some deals for later in the year!

  • Might book if it was depart April and for 3-4 weeks

  • +4

    Oh, Vienna!

  • +1

Unbelievable prices but crazy short notice

    • Yes, they filling up empty planes, I suppose.

  • +1

Anyone flown with Air China before? Do they have inflight entertainment or are they like scoot Jetstar where you gotta pay for every little thing?

    • +8

It’s a full-service airline with complimentary meals and an in-flight entertainment system. I’m just not sure whether this flight uses a newer or older aircraft, and the experience can be quite different.

Are there any deals on business class or premium economy with travel period less than a month?

    • +1

Fly to Manila then BC from there

      • Are BC fares substantially lower when originating in Manila? Which airlines?

  • Wow, crazy prices.
February is probably the worst month to be in Vienna though

    • Unless going skiing?

      • Yeah if you are planning to travel west after arrival it's good. Vienna itself doesn't have any good skiing nearby and the snow in the streets will be giving way to Gatsch after salting (mud/slush). Just a depressing time to be in Vienna IMO, YMMV

  • +2

Found some super cheap flights in Feb-March Sydney to a bunch of European cities with Turkish that are all under 28 hours travel time. Seems with Air China if you want the <$1000 fares it is a stupid amount of time in layovers.

    • +2

Examples? Stop over in Beijing isn't too bad. You will arrive in the morning and leave at night, so you will have the whole day for sightseeing or shopping.

      • +2

Example here. Lots of different combos I found for similar prices and cities. Problem is if you don't want to spend time in Beijing or just want to get to europe then it's not a good option at all and ends up wasting a lot of time. Especially on the way back you don't want 9+ hours where you probably just want to sleep that you'll end up in the airport instead.

        • +3

So just book a flight with someone else.

This deal is a cheap price and includes time in Beijing. If you don't want those two things, then this isn't the deal for you.

          • +2

@Nom: I get it? All I'm doing is pointing out for someone that wants to go to Europe and not have many hours in Beijing that there was another cheap option? Dunno why you find an issue with that.

            • @mulimulix: It's all good, no issue at all 👌

  • no Brisbane 😭

AVOID FLIGHT NETWORK AT ALL COSTS - A SCAM AND A SHAMBOLIC MESS Flight Network is not a travel company; it's a black hole for your money. They operate under multiple names—the one on your bank statement (AIRFAREET), the one on PayPal (Gotogate Pty Ltd), and the name they use for emails (Flight Network). This isn't a simple mistake; it's a deliberate tactic to confuse you and your bank when you try to get a refund. I had a flight cancelled by the airline, and Flight Network confirmed the cancellation and promised a full refund to my card within "10-15 business days." This was a complete and utter lie. Over a month later, they still hadn't refunded me, and when I called, they told me I had to wait for several more months for an "airline refund." Their "customer service" is just a team of professional stonewallers whose only job is to frustrate you into giving up. When I tried to get my money back through my bank and PayPal, the multiple names they operate under caused constant confusion. My bank even flagged it as a "red flag for a scam." This company operates in Australia with a .au domain but has no active ABN, which should tell you everything you need to know. Do not book with Flight Network. They will take your money, give you nothing in return, and then make a simple refund into a full-time job. Save yourself the headache and book directly with the airline.

    • what's flight network?

      • +2

can't you read?!?! it's A SCAM AND A SHAMBOLIC MESS

        seriously -
        never heard of them.

      • It’s a provider like Booking.com to get cheap flights.
I had similar issues with them in the past too. Best way to avoid any contact with them is to buy the ticket through them (cheap), get the booking reference code and then deal with the airline directly if there is a problem.

        • +2

Airlines will not deal with you if it's a third party booking

        • This is such a misleading tip and somehow it got upvoted? Good luck asking the airline to fix up any issue once they found out you bought your tickets from a third party seller.

  • -3

    So many cheap ChiNa tickets….

    • +1

state subsidized, traffic over profit program.

managed to find $997 Bris <—> Frankfurt in May with China Southern Airlines . (less than $1K still decent for europe).

    • Good find. German airports generally have higher airport taxes than, say Vienna or Milan - and that usually means the fares there are higher.

      • Frankfurt was cheaper (~$150 less) than a lot of other German airports .

Can't believe so called freedom and capitalism country has such bunch of idiots fever in fake news and political ideology, rather than gain financial advantages in real life, especially on this website where designed just for saving money.

    • U wat?
