Link goes to Philips CCT LED 800lm 7.5W Down Light… no indication they are a colour version…

EDIT: ah I see it’s just dodgy marketing… the 3 white colour hues are being labeled as colours

I would call it 3 warmness setting than tri colour

    • +4

It has three colour temperature settings. That is the correct term, and origin of the name.

    • +1

      Tricolor is the standard name

    • For those that have this, can you switch between the 3 colours via an app or do you have to manually take the downlight(s) out, then select a colour via a switch at the back?

    why is this a deal?

I wish they have some sort of energy efficiency ratings for LED lights. Like lumen/watt. It's really hard to tell. (It matters if you try to build random light projects powered by batteries.)

Phillips vs Click? Where is the comparison in quality?

No mention of lumens either for Click. Might as well get something random from AliExpress for $2-3 a pop.

It's a light. There's multiple brands that all come out of the same factory. I've been using Click ones for 5 years in my home and they've been fine.

Also this isn't a deal. It's normal price and has been this price since 2024 https://pricehipster.com/product/AY6vD5cdcACMou-02psAbg

        • Meh not really, Signify (Philips lighting) owns their own factories in China

          • @visitorsonlyparking: And they exclusively supply LEDs to their own brand?

Let me guess you don't shop at Aldi because there's a different label on their products…

    broad spectrum of environments

    😉

These are uncomfortable for the eyes, too bright

    • They are dimmable.

      • yes but i do not have dimmer switch

  • Any suggestion for Smart downlights, which can be used with Home assistant?

  • This is NOT an RGB/colour model. It's Tri-Colour = 3 different white temps.

It's also the regular price that it's been since 2024.

It costs more than 50% more than a store brand version with the same features.

Upvoters obviously haven't visited a bunnings lighting section in years, there's nothing special about this price.

  • A great option if you're entertaining guest with tri-coloured pastas.

  • anyone know if theres like a rule you should follow on how many lights to install based on your room size and lumens output?

  • Specs show CRI 80 for anyone that cares. I'd personally spend a little more for CRI 90.

  • Damn, costco used to sell 8 packs of these for $80, then jumped to $99, and now I see they dont sell at all. I bought 32 of them. Not as bright as others (deta and others I had), but I do like them! I set mine up on dimmers. They dont flicker on my dimmers! The deta's flicker grrrr.
