Boost Mobile: $7 Cashback on 75GB 28-Day Prepaid SIM for $13 (Was $39) @ TopCashback AU

670

I reached out to TA for a Boost deal. Costs $6 (after cashback). Cheapest Boost 28-day SIM currently. Offer expires on 2nd Feb 11:59pm AEDT.

  • 5G with International calls.
  • Boost has reduced the price from $39 to $13 & increased data to 75GB for the 25GB 28-day prepaid SIM.

Also available: Boost 290GB 12-Month SIM $200 after cashback.

My notes:

  • Please note that letting the number expire and not recharging is eligible for cashback.
  • Please don't deactivate or port away until you receive the cashback. Deactivate means requesting Boost to remove the number.
  • Terms and conditions are from Telstra/Boost and apply to all cashback providers. Confirmed with the rep tightarse here, here and here.
  • Cashback is on the purchase of the physical SIM only. You can convert to eSIM after you have received the physical SIM. Activate the physical SIM first, insert and then convert to eSIM.
  • If you're a current Boost customer, you will need to port out into another provider (e.g. $2 Telstra SIM) and then port back into Boost. Please see the steps in my comment here.

For better tracking, use the TopCashback app, click the 'Get Cashback' pink button to the Boost website (not Boost app), use mobile data (not Wi-Fi) and Chrome browser.

TA's Tracking Tips:

  • Prior to using TopCashback, disable/remove all 3rd party plugins (AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, Honey, etc), VPNs, avoid browsers such as Brave and close any additional browser tabs.
  • For iOS device: Apart from ensuring you’re not using an AdBlock app for Safari, the most important one is to ensure you have ‘Prevent Cross-Site Tracking’ turned off (see here).

What will stop me getting my cashback

  • SIM must be activated within 30 days of purchase, and must not be deactivated until your cashback is payable. If the SIM is deactivated prior, Boost may decline cashback.
  • Multiple SIM purchases need to be made as separate transactions. If there is more than one SIM in an order, it will result in an untracked purchase and the purchase will be ineligible for cashback.
  • Cashback is ineligible on eSIMs, recharges, phones, bundles, accessories, $2 SIMs.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashback.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of any gift cards, vouchers, or store credit for partial or full payment. Cashback is also ineligible on purchase of any gift cards.
  • Cashback is ineligible on purchases made via the retailer's mobile app.

What else is essential

  • Engaging with plugins such as Honey, AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole, VPNs, DNS AdGuard, and browsers such as Brave may prevent your order from tracking.
  • Accept and allow all 3rd party cookies on the retailer's page if requested.
  • Return to TopCashback to click the 'Get Cashback' button for each new transaction.
  • Transactions must be completed solely & wholly online and must not be assisted or negotiated via phone/chat/email. Failure to do so will cause tracking to fail and/or have cashback declined.

Loss of $6. I will never recover.

    • +4

Sarcastic humour seems to go over people's heads when it's in written form.

      • Nah, it's because this crowd is never warm.

  • +1

Sorry if this is answered already/elsewhere but does cashback become payable before the end of the 28-day prepaid period? Otherwise, using it (to SIM slut) for a main number requires renewal at full price to be able to continue to use the number to call, text, etc. and get the cashback.

    • +2

      No, it takes 2-3 months.
That's why it's much less popular now than the good old days.

    • +1

Is it worth cycling through 28 day cards when there have been the occasional sub $10/month yearly prepaid cards?

      • +2

Yes, if you want to use a lot of data. 75GB/28d is 975GB per year (assuming you are able to get this sort of offer every 4 weeks) and I haven't seen a $10/m sim with more than 360GB/year

        • 75GB on first 3 recharges for new activations. 25GB from 4th recharge.

          • +2

@yoshi678: nobody is recharging at full price, you buy a new one every time there's an offer

            • @surfingedge: But how does it work? Do you have to port in and out every month to get the new deal?

              • @janeymac: No, you get a new number every time

              • @janeymac: If you don’t make a lot of calls and don’t want the hassle of porting in and out every month, you can keep your main number and simply churn through the cheapest option available for data each month with a new number on an eSim,.

      • Sometimes you only have the choice of Telstra or Boost and nothing else i.e. working in a remote area and the last 1% of coverage matters, then youd find this very valuable.

Better get WW Mobile from this deal which ends today.
Only $3.50 or $5 cost and no need to activate within 30 days.
However, it's shopback, so it will be at your own risk.

    • Unfortunately it must be activated within 30 days of purchase with cashback. Seems to be the standard term for Everyday Mobile.

      • Can't find that term on SB page?

only "Plans cancelled within 30 days of activating the SIM".
Just don't recharge and you will be fine.

        • SB has worded it differently. The "activate within 30 days" is mentioned in TCB and also CR previously for Everyday Mobile. I had bought, posted one of these offers and checked the terms.

    • +1

      That's pretty good! I didn't know, instead ordered a $12.5 Felix 25GB with $5 TCB yesterday.
      Loss I will never recover

  • +3

SIM must not be deactivated until your cashback is payable - that’s a dealbreaker

    • +2

Unfortunately not for churning. It's for a spare number.

    • +2

but it says, "Please note that letting the number expire and not recharging is eligible for cashback."

      • +2

It would be best for a spare number. If you port in your existing or main number, you won't be able to port out until cashback is payable (or at least confirmed).

Cashback is usually paid in about 3 months. Confirmation varies as I've had it confirmed before 30 days but also in about 3 months from purchase date.

Love these for driving through remote parts of Australia where Telstra coverage is better than anyone else. Good if you have a portable wifi hotspot in the car, or even in a dual sim phone.

And I'm just about to go on a 3 week road trip in 2 weeks, perfect!

    • Agreed. When we go camping we try to bring one of these Boost deals along with voda/catch sims for our normal city use.

  • +4

Funny how everyone "reaches out to TA" in very exact repeatable time intervals.

Boost was fun while it lasted, but they progressively became greedier and then started banning OZB folks for getting new SIMs each time.

    • +2

We should reach out to TA for daily Boost deals and for them not to get progressively worse like they are

  • +1

we need a 12 month starter pack deal on the $300 one.

there is one on the $365 pack, but that's too much money and data which most will never use.

OP and TA, please make it happen!

  • ah! just bought the amaysim $10 SIM yesterday from Coles :| $4 loss :|

    • Lol same i got the $12 one. I think it said activate by 03/03 so maybe get boost and use amaysim later.

      • I activated amasyim SIMs today.
I will purchase Boost next week to activate after the Amaysim SIMs expire ;)

  • Puta madre…..i ordered one today.

Edit: $7 it is. Damn. Lub Youse all

Anyone having trouble self-activating the SIM cards from Boost/Telstra? Always got thrown the error message at the very last step "Something went wrong". Tried passports/NSW drivers license, neither worked. I ported in & out every month to keep the cost of living low, but with Boost/Telstra, I haven't succeeded once activating the SIM cards by myself. Always needed to contact the online support to manually activate.

    • +1

Have you tried Medicare card? That worked for me

      • I haven't though but I suspect the type of ID isn't the problem. I once asked their CS after their manual activation what seemed to be the problem with my account, they couldn't see anything from their end, so they could only tell me their system was being updated sorry about the trouble. That conversation was in 2024 July.

    • I can't self-activate with Boost either and it didn't work with Medicare card as ID. Have to contact Boost chat to activate manually.

      • Same. This issue is not a singular one. Many users experience this. It has lasted for years, and Telstra/Boost still wouldn't fix it.

    • Yep - I currently have an TIO case open with them about this issue, hopefully will prompt them to finally fix it

  • wont let me buy, i think i got banned again

  • Only bought 1 and won't let me buy anymore. 🤦‍♂️

    • +1

@Micky14 @KFC banned me Sorry to hear. There seem to be more success with using a debit card and typing your address manually. You can try again.

When you are unable to pay due to "SORRY, SOMETHING WENT WRONG" message or similar, please try the following suggestions:

      • Use a debit card (instead of credit card).
      • Use a different email.
      • Type your address manually.
        (i) Type any address and choose "I can't find my address" as shown here.
(ii) Add your address manually in the "Address" section shown here. It's below "Delivery address".
(iii) Vary a little e.g. St instead of Street, Ave instead of Avenue etc.
      • Vary your name e.g. Pete instead of Peter, Bob, Rob instead of Robert etc.

If you experience any issues at the checkout page, start all over again to ensure tracking. Click the pink button at TopCashback through to Boost website again.

      All the best.

      P.S. Something Went Wrong

      • I haven't been able to purchase even one SIM. Always get this error:
"Sorry, we are unable process your order. Please try again later."

I have tried all the methods, and still doesn't work:
        Different laptops or phone
Different internet connections (NBN or Mobile 5G)
Different email or names or phone numbers
        Different address
Different credit cards or debit cards

        Really strange :|

  • Who is TA?

"I reached out to TA for a Boost deal"

    • +3

      @tightarse Thanks TA

  • +2

Unfortunately will not be able to receive the SIM before my trip this weekend.

Thanks OP and TA for this tho.

  • Finally, got 1 for hotspot. Cheaper and faster than NBN…

  • Is this deal useless to me if I port my number over and only use it for the 28 days before porting to a new provider since it seems like you need to stay until cashback is paid or it will get rejected. Am I understanding correctly?

    • Yes as mentioned here. It's better for a spare number as the confirmation from Telstra/Boost could be less than 1 month to 3 months as I've experienced. Payment is usually in about 3 months.

    • Shopback have $4.90 cashback for the same $39($13) Sim pack without the requirement to keep the Sim active until cashback is paid out

      • Terms and conditions are from Telstra/Boost and apply to all cashback providers. Confirmed with the rep tightarse here, here and here.

        • I'm happy to take my chances. Those exclusions aren't on the Shopback app / site. I have a screenshot of the exclusions etc, and have a 100% strike rate when Shopback have refused cashback and I've provided evidence of their error

  • That’s a shame, thanks for confirming.

  • Does anyone know how long I can receive sms's to the number (do not want to make any calls/sms, just to receive) after this package is expired in Boost

  • Boost mobile sim $300 reduced to $250 plus $50 TopCashback cash back

  • Wow, shipping is being super slow. Ordered on the 16th and no movement at all.

    • hi. hv u received yet?

      • Mine too 7 days to deliver.

  • Ordered 6 physical SIMs on 25th January, delivered today.

Expiry date is 7th June 2026 which is a bit short but I'll manage.

    • Nice job!
I always get this error: "Sorry, we are unable process your order. Please try again later."

      :(

    • +2

Careful! You won't qualify for cashback if you don't activate within 30 days.

    • @termx If your orders "confirm" before 30 days of purchase, you could most likely get away without activating the SIM cards. It seems to be random and does not always confirm before the 30 days.

If they are still "pending" on the 29th day from purchase, it's best to activate the SIM cards for cashback. Cashback is usually paid in about 3 months.

SIM must be activated within 30 days of purchase.

Please refer to: What do the statuses 'pending', 'confirmed' and 'payable' mean?

  • Sorry unable to process.
gees this happens so often when trying to purchase of boost. used different connections aswell to try get it to work
