No you're both wrong: it's a bad price. 2020/2021 era model.
Not a good price for this grade of ultrawide, and not a good panel. When Samsung cleared this line from their AU stock, it was for $179 while trading in literally any old monitor that turned on.
Please all try to use the search function before posting.

No, you're wrong!
Not bad. Not great. Just normal price for a monitor with these specs.
FYI, Samsung secret sale was even cheaper with further stacking, but I don't think a one off sale that's never repeated should be treated as the benchmark going forward.

I cannot understate how bad this monitor is for $200+. Budget monitors are 200Hz now in a far more presentable form… 27" QHD 240Hz IPS of decent quality is now the norm at $250.
Do not buy budget Samsung offerings from 2021 at 2022 prices. One quick google will probably net you a vastly better deal, and failing that just go multi-monitor instead.

One check of the ultrawide category will probably net you a vastly better deal.
How can you say it's a bad deal if you don't even know what else is out there?

@HomeAlone: Mountains of historical evidence and awareness of the space. It's a shocking price, there have been so many great monitor deals and this is a seismic swing in the other direction.
Why are you suddenly defending it? G3 and G5 Samsung VAs have been terrible for their entire history. This is not a gaming monitor, and it's not a productivity monitor either.

Why are you suddenly defending it?
I'm not. I said it's normal price for monitor with these specs.

@HomeAlone: The only reason it might be a normal price is because no one is buying this monitor category anymore. They go further up the ultrawide stack and/or buy OLED, or grab 16:9 monitor deals and feast.
This is e-waste. Quick google suggests there are better 34" WQHD 180Hz monitors around this price, but again: I wouldn't touch this kind of display above $200.

@jasswolf: With your awareness in this space, I'd love your advice on a decent 34"+ wide monitor for office work purposes? Hopefully in the sub-$350 range. I was looking at a refurbished Dell Ultrasharp but not sure that's worth the money. There are so many variables out there and I'm not sure where to start, but also struggling to work out the difference between what's helpful for office work vs gaming (I'll never be using this for gaming).

@keeperofthegood: In the sub-$350 range I would instead recommend 2x 27" QHD IPS monitors unless you have a very specific workflow that requires a single extended monitor. Comes in well under your budget.

@jasswolf: Thanks for that! Because of my work setup and flow, I really don't like having two separate monitors. I have two 24s at home and one 34" at work. I really like the flow of the single. I could go up a little but also would be happy with a 'decent' monitor, even if it's not necessarily the most modern/current. As long as the text is sharp, that's probably most important.

@keeperofthegood: I too am interested in a 34" ultra wide WQHD or WQUHD around this price range as a choice.

@atimuslol: I have this monitor. It is horrible.
Colours look washed out, contrast is bad in practise and the high refresh rate option just doesnt work. (flickers and malfunctions at 165hz)If you want an ultrawide at this price, just get this:

Trust me, it'll be better.

VA panel just as an fyi.

This monitor is super average for gaming

Urg yuck VA bad, etc, etc…

Not a great one either.
