  • Is "lol" a valid reason for a downvote?

  • I started my career with a CCNA cert 25 years ago and it was good to have back then. Not sure how relevant CCNA is these days.

    • Still very relevant.

      • Yes, very relevant, especially when you are a Network Technician looking to develop your career.

        • CCNA will teach you more about networking then a bachelors in IT/networking.

Obviously experience is best but it's still very relevant for people early in career.

Another good one to look out for is Cisco DevNet associate. It's a mix of networking and programming.

          • @Julzx: I can't speak to a Bachelors, but I learnt more doing CCNA 1 in 3 months than in my 2 year Diploma of Cyber/Advanced Networking.

And then learnt more in one week working at an MSP than in both qualifications combined

          • @Julzx: It depends on uni, some Tech uni network course is exactly the same as CCNA, same textbook and same course also multiple choices after each chapter, after done the exam and the week after went for CCNA… over 90% exact same questions, back in 2003 tho, also 2 year expiry for cert and you might need to re-do, so end up doing old MCSE instead.

  • There's free material to be honest alot can be learnt from youtube

    • Yeah exactly! But YouTube quickly puts me to sleep personally. It's not active.

      • Example for Microsoft theres the bald legend John Savill I'm sure there are ones for CCNA,CCIE etc

Not knocking your course completely , just saying there's alot of freely available and information available
