I used to buy the Coles ones which have gone up to $24 a bag! Currently Aldi is also selling then $17.99.
I am going to try to Woolworths ones and hopefully taste nice. You will get points and can use a credit card without surcharge compared to Aldi.
On the package it says "The Gourmet Brand Collective" for the medium.
Both coffees made in Australia from imported Ingredients.
If anyone has tried them do you have any feedback?

He's referring to the urban culture beans.

I'm not sure that this post belongs here? Not a deal as such.

I recently gave these a go. They don't say 100% arabica like the equally priced aldi beans. They are not the best IMO. Really one note and acidic, I would not recommend them. Unfortunately ALDI beans have degraded too, though I still feel they're the best of the bunch. Currently on the hunt for a cheap 1kg bag that's also good; i reckon i'd pay up to $30.

I haven't tried the ALDI beans yet, bought some last night because of the Coles price rise. Have you seen ALDI do single origin for $27 (I think). Have you tried those?

I just finished the Coles beans, and you’ve really got to like strong heavily caffeinated coffee to enjoy it, it’s steroid induced robusta beans for sure, probably from Vietnam

have you tried Lime Blue Coffee? they're my go-to these days.

Pay $34 + shipping is substantially more than $30. Not everyone wants to buy bulk either - concerns of storage and freshness

How do you think Supermarket coffee is stored? Lime Blue is next level if all you have been drinking is Supermarket coffee.

Pack into weekly (or whatever) usage bags and freeze. I use (and reuse) little plastic sandwich bags. Take one out and let it warm up before opening. I keep all the bean bags in the original foil coffee bag for easy identification as I have 2 or more bean types in the freezer.

Which lime blue is good

any of the single origin beans 😍

Peruvian Chanchamayo

the aldi columbian so beans are pretty good imo, bout $22kg

Aldi full arabica cost more. $17.99 is a blend robusta/arabica

@Laziofogna I haven't been able to check in person lately, but as far as I can tell the Aldi offering is still 100% arabica.

I did not check, I have the coffee here. Greetings.

hopefully taste nice.
So why did you post this as a bargain ?
Surely if it tastes crap, it would be a waste of money.
to some people, coffee is coffee aka Nespresso

I am just saying worth a try? Taste is very subjective anyway.
It's the same price as aldi but you get points, can use gift cards, 10% off etc. If you like it why not buy this one?
I am just saying worth a try?
That is a question.
That belongs in the forums…

Woolies also have a brand called Lone Crow, which is $30, sometimes cheaper. Really enjoyable and consistent medium roast bean, with some complexity. I've gone through 3 kg so far.

Agreed, I gave it a go when I found a bag relatively cheap and can recommend people give it a go especially if they want to buy from a supermarket

I’m actually trying the $24 urban culture one from Cole’s atm in my eletta - I actually didn’t half mind it and thought it was OKAY for $24. Kind of wish they would put the luxe ones on special at Aldi though

Yes, that's the one I used to buy. Used to be $18 a few months back.

Curse this inflation

I know right? Really sucks .

@fozzie: I feel they were only doing it because Aldi was leading the charge with tightly priced (rumoured to be loss leader) beans originally but then when they jacked the price colesworths followed too

And $12 one year before that

I feel like they prob could have kept a reasonable price and still made money off impulse buys. Like I used to only use luxe Aldi beans - but I’d say I am only going to Aldi of 2 packs of beans - then leave with like $90 of random shit

Have been enjoying the Coles Daley St medium dark roast beans. I believe they're roasted by Mocopan. However, the price is starting to creep up from the low $20s when on special and now tips up at $32 on special.
I wonder if Mocopan also supplies the Urban Coffee Culture one?

C'mon guys be nice, he/she is just trying to help.
Taste is subjective, so I'll give this a whirl. Thanks OP!

No worries. Thanks for being nice.

Coles Simply $18.
Obviously, these are not pure Arabica beans.

Not always a bad thing. Robusta provides the best crema.
I prefer a good blend.

Not a fan of medium roast, I am more of the dark roasted coffee bean and find dark roasted Aldi still better than these or Coles. But each to their own.

Do they print the roast date?

Nope, not directly at least (maybe can infer from best before date)

what do you guys think of grinders?
I like them when on sale. The med roast is one of my favorites.
Coles brand used to be rebranded Grinders. Now I don't know

Aldi Beans are actually sourced from Blackbag Roasters (a part of the Nomad group down in VIC) so are coming from the same suppliers distributing coffees to a lot of Cafes across Australia. For the $18 price, its a great deal.
Will have to look into the Woolies/Coles ones.

i hear dishwater is cheaper

I'm not gonna neg this because you seem to be trying in your own way, but I'm really not sure this is any kind of a deal.
Aldi option is almost certainly superior even with the small impact of card surcharges, which can be overcome with cash if you feel suitably motivated.

Ok, no worries. I was just just trying to highlight for people. However, if you are convinced I'm "trying in my own way" you can neg me. I have better things to do in general. I will personally buy 1 pack in my next 10% off shopping to try. Have a good day mate.

it's not an outright bad deal, and you're far more receptive to feedback than people who post outright nonsense. More of a PSA than a deal.

But what about the taste?

New to the game. on my first ever bag of $18 coles beans. My first/last/only bag of aldi Medium roast was better. Forget which version of Grinders bag i got but was not a fan. Gotta try all the cheapies first!

Coles Simply Coffee Beans are still $18kg.
Some discussion in the ALDI $17.99 deal.
Subjective and I am no expert, but I rated these Woolworths beans below the Coles and ALDI equivalent. Some other comments in that ALDI deal might be helpful too.
