So annoying that they don't allow us to use our everyday rewards 10% discount with online orders.

    • +6

Yeah, they want you to pay for Everyday Extra for that privilege. :/

    • +15

oh that just killed this deal for me

    • +8

yes that p!sses me off too!!! I used to get a BIG lot delivered once per month…now Coles is better

      • For regular 250 shop. You lose the free delivery if you use a discount code with Coles.

        Woolworth doesn't have this issue.

There both trying to make more money from people. You still get charged for bags yet before you could select bring crate in. Half the time my delivery rock up with the stuff in crates with the bags on the side.

    • +1

Can you use that in-store still?

    • +3

wtf thats a different discount to the everyday extra? how do u activate it

      • +3

        Everyday Mobile/Insurance.

        • Yep, we have three of them in the family for the two kids SIMs and pet insurance.

    • Ok I was thinking about getting this so if no 10% off forget it

      • -1

Does your time have no value?

        • +6

Depends how you manage your time, its possible to do it yourself and save $ with 10% off. Also deliveries you never what quality of fruit/veggies they will deliver you. YMMV

          • @neonlight: If it is crap you just send them a picture and they refund you. Even if edible.

    • Oh no! So you can still use your everyday extra 10% but not the everyday rewards?

      Or not either of them??

      Booooo

  • +12

Woolies is now on doordash, albeit with a limited selection, however if you have access to costco discounted doordash vouchers and the amazon prime dashpass deal then that surpasses these savings. Something to consider given Aldi and costco are now also on doordash.

    • +6

What are prices like? Coles was same price as in store when it first joined and then quickly changed to inflated prices.

      • +2

They don’t have half price specials, and normal price is about 10% more. A spattering of discounts, only useful to combine a 40% off code etc, and buy things that don’t go on special. Noting there is a service charge as well of around 10% that is added

        • I ordered the other day with the $30/$100 spend. No service fee. Stacked with 20% off Doordash gift cards from Costco.

Some prices are identical to in store but most range between 5-15% more. But great thing is they don't rob you on bag charges like Delivery Unlimited mandatory $2 flat fee.

          • +1

@IlIlIl IlI llIIIl: Yes, spend $100 or more and no service fee. I found that it was cheaper to spend $75, pay the service fee and maximise the $30 discount. My offer was 40% off a $60 min spend

    • +4

No when i use the uber 20 off 40 spend its about the same price or a bit better depending on product choice.

      • yeh actually some of the stuff i bought prices were lower!

      • Note IF you have access to the doordash gift cards at costco. 80 for 100 card

  • -1

Do you get another 10% off monthly added to account if you get this

    • +1

      No

  • +10

Guess they learned no one was resubscribing at Black Friday without the discount

  • +28

They just increased the prices though (and it looks applicable immediately I think even though I have an active yearly subscription)

    • When I started, it was genuine free deliveries when you had the subscription. They then started adding $2 for every delivery to "cover paper bags" (doesn't matter if they only use 1 bag)
    • This month they added another $2 for Sunday / holiday deliveries

So yeah, just an FYI as it does add up. I get groceries delivered weekly on Sundays to prepare for the week with fruit etc for the school week, which means that I will now be paying another $4 per delivery in addition to the subscription fee. So even if I get only 1 delivery per week, that's another $208 yearly + $119 subscription. I've now tripled the yearly cost. I'm not super happy.

Edit: Sunday fee starting 3rd of feb

    • +13

They also raised the minimum spend required for free delivery a few years ago, which was pretty annoying.

    • +7

Mofos keep hiking fees that's why I stopped. I'm loving discounted Doordash gift cards for Aldi, Woolworths and Costco shops. Used to be solely Woolworths and Amazon only shopping. Woolworths has now lost my share of wallet.

      • What do you mean by DoorDash gift card for Woolies and Amazon?

        • +1

If you have a Costco membership, you can buy DoorDash gift cards from Costco. $100 GC for $80. You then use DD to buy your Woolies or Aldi things as DD does deliveries from them now.

          • @BargainShopaholic: Ahh right. I didn’t think the 20% off door dash gc would offset the higher prices and fees in door dash

            • +1

@Tdsr: It does offset and also provide extra discount if you are careful on what you buy. E.g. Macro whole chicken is $6.50kg via Doordash and Woolworths direct. So it's a good deal. If you spend $100 you avoid the service fee as well

    • +1

Yeah this one really annoyed me… we only do Sunday and now they are adding an extra 2 for the pleasure. Money grab…. when this year subscription finishes then we will cancel and move to coles.

    • +2

Woolworths is increasing costs for Delivery Unlimited members through new fees: a $2 Sunday/Public Holiday Surcharge for all online orders and a new $20 "service fee" for specific island locations, starting February 2026, to cover higher operational costs, despite existing subscriptions.

      • Thanks AI.

  • Does Coles Plus or whatever it’s called ever do anything similar?

    • +5

Coles has similar subscription but minimum purchase is only $50. Also they frequently have doordash slots where the delivery is done within one hour. It's not $5 a month though, it's $20.

There's also only a per delivery charge of $1.5 (for "bags") vs more for Woolworths

      • +4

Just to piggy back this, obviously won't matter for everyone but they also do rapid deliveries (within a couple hours) that is included with that $50 minimum spend too unlike Woolworths who offer it for $10 extra with their subscription and a minimum of $75.

        • +3

That's the doordash slots I believe @killingtime is referring to.

        • +1

I also agree it's worth it for the rapid deliveries for Coles alone. $50 minimum and free rapid delivery (less than an hour each time for our location) is amazing.

I was going to sign up to this woolworths one too, but they charge extra for their faster delivery

      • coles bags got another update and sized up

  • +14

I ditched Woolworths delivery because of $2 per delivery for the bag fee on top of the delivery subscription.

Is that still a thing? It means the cost was $104 per year more than the subscription itself because I do a weekly shop.

This was a couple years ago though.

    • +10

Yes. And they are adding more fees this month. See my post above. I cancelled my subscription (but since it's yearly, I still have like 8 months)

      • +10

I switched to Coles because of it and get the grocery delivered off peak on like a Tuesday for $4 without a subscription now.

Woolworths shooting themselves in the foot on that one.

        • +2

what's the minimum order to get that $4 - sounds like a good option.

          • +4

@Ruckmauler: $50. Depends on the time and day, Tuesdays can be $2 (plus $1.50 bags) but you risk out of stock on big specials. Booking ahead 3 or 4 days has lots of slots open for $4 delivery

            • +1

@rogdog: I’ve had a few $2 Coles. I’m in a Deliver More area (warehouse, not a regular store) and have had nearly zero OOS items even specials on Tuesday, great range. The $2 and $4 slots are usually up to 6hrs but that’s fine for me, and they give an approx time.
I did a rapid from WW on a Sunday and it came from a Metro store which was OOS on 6 of the 8 things I ordered. Poor value.

    • +5

I ditched Woolworths delivery because of $2 per delivery for the bag fee on top of the delivery subscription.

If petrol is $1.70 per litre and your car uses 10L/100km then if your return trip to the supermarket is more than 12km you'll use more than $2 of petrol (plus wear and tear on your car)

Or at the ATO rate of 88c/km if your trip is more than 2.3km you will incur more than $2 in transport costs.

      • +2

Plus the convenience of not having to waste an hour or so at the supermarket. Plus you are not tempted to buy things not on your list.

        • +1

          click and collect is free

          • @Limitless: This is what i do.
$50, easy with woolies, given things are so expensive.
3 minutes from home, I have TWO Woolies, but no Coles.
Majority is from Aldi and local grocers anyways.

          • @Limitless: Half the battle at my local is getting a car park

          • @Limitless: Not any more on Sundays and PHols. $2. WW are masters of nasty changes.

      • Don’t say things like that!

  • They're also going to be charging $2 delivery on Public Holidays soon too. I've deleted the email now so can't recall the date it starts.

    • Early Feb. 4th of Feb I think

  • +7

Hoping there's another 50% off deal for Everyday Rewards subscription. Mine expired last month and I refuse to pay full price for it

    • +1

They have made so many changes I’m not paying for that anymore. Shopping WW less and less - more Coles deliveries and using a great Aldi with easy car park nearby.

  • +9

    Minimum $75 order

    • +7

I think coles is $50. Slightly easier to achieve

  • +16

The advantage of woolies online over coles online is I can apply a gift card (buy at 4% discount) to wooiles orders but not coles (unless that has changed). This covers the PITA BS bag fee and then some.

    • +2

Or even 5% for some seniors.

This guy on Lemmy not happy Jan

    https://aussie.zone/comment/20786376

  • +6

I tried the free 30 days delivery unlimited, and personally, I think it's such a scam. Sure, any time slot is free pending minimum spend, but I find that if you select certain time slots, some products are unavailable. It's so random too… like I wanted to grab a bag of granola. It was unavailable if I selected a 1-hour delivery timeslot, but available if I select a 3-hour delivery time slot.

    • +7

Yeah this is frustrating. I think the reason is the express ones might go to a third party (ie doordash) that goes to the metro Woolies near me, but the bigger slots is the Woolies truck, which goes to the main supermarket a bit further away from me

      • +1

        This is the reason.

      • +1

Ah I see. I didn't know that. Thanks for letting me know!

      • +5

        1hr slots = local Woolworths
        3hr & 5hr = Woollies distribution centre

    • +1

Pretty sure changing timeslots can also change which store it comes from.

Edit: I was too slow, someone beat me to it. :)

    • +2

Why can’t I have everything everywhere all at once?!

  • +6

My thoughts condensed to a post on this. Hopefully this will help you decide if worth it:

    • The service is getting more expensive all the time. Not a fan of the ever increasing cost, but I will say that any issues I've had with delivery ie. Incorrect items, inappropriate substitutes, short dated or expired fruit/veg/meat etc has always been easily and promptly refunded.
    • I will say that I make a minimum of 1 delivery per week. Usually it is a big shop, $200-300 worth of groceries. To go to a store and do this takes at least an hour round trip and I find shopping at my supermarket on weekends incredibly busy and annoying. It is also nice not to have to lug all the heavy grocery's around. So even paying the full $15 delivery is still of some value to me. So paying this makes it a bit cheaper.
    • I also subscribe to the everyday rewards for the 10% off a month code. So $20-$30 off of a shop for me more than covers it.

Might consider swapping to coles, need to sus it out better. I actually live less than 500m from a giant Coles so doing click and collect might have some appeal.

    • +1

An earlier comment said you can't use your 10% off code for an online shop. Is this true?

      • +3

you can't use the 10% discount you get from having a mobile phone plan online. I'm fairly sure you can still use the everyday extras one (unless this has changed)

      • They would've meant for Everyday Mobile/Insurance. Everyday Extra is the one that can also be used online.

    • I've used Coles c&c quite a bit in the past, the only thing that annoys me is they won't lift the items from the cart. Ok, Maybe 5% of the time, one person would, but that's way too low. If you have a lower back thing, that's a killer. I have actually asked some staff members member about it, they told me it kills their lower back lol

      • +1

Its the opposite for me with Coles Click and Collect. Maybe 5% of the time, they will just stand there looking at me loading up the groceries. Awkward. Strangely its only when its busy and other cars are lined up they don't help. Which should be the opposite of what happens to hurry it up.

Otherwise the staff always offer to help. I bring my own bags to pack it there. I don't get it bagged for the extra fee.

        • That is does not surprise me at all. I only buy goods and services with the best warranty for the sole reason that I don’t have the best of luck :) It somehow allows me to come out on top every time - freebies, refunds and credit. (Thanks Amazon, Apple and many others.)

I’m glad it works for you :)

      • just hold ur boot open and stare at them .

or even open the boot and stay in your seat

        they oughtta have lifting technique/training

        follow for more tips

  • Too late for me, already subscribed. Need 50% off Everyday Extra!

  • +5

Waiting for the 50% off Extra again.

Am paid fortnightly and both my wife and I have Extra, so means we can use the 10% off just about every pay, which is the bigger shop.

    • This is smart, but do you shop instore? Because then you'd also need 2x delivery unlimited right?

    • when was that 50% ?

  • I was charged 70$ for renewal last week

  • +2

so you have to shop over 75 dollars to even get free delivery, pretty bad unless you only do big weekly shops

  • Payment Failed. Tried again. Multiple $0.00 charges on my bank account now.

  • +3

I'm so against supermarket subscriptions. It just feels so slimey.
I don't want to pay to unlock cheaper groceries and be locked in to one of the duopoly.
I'm just going to grow cabbages and cry.

    • +1

Imo not worth growing cabbages. No one really likes to eat them, they're relatively cheap to buy and if you grow them yourself they need heaps of space and take ages to get to full size whilst being decimated by caterpillars.

      Tomatoes however…

      • For maximising the saving/effort ratio the big three are naughty maples, sprouts and tomatoes. First harvest today, using free seed from the heirloom toms sold at coles

        • Where do you get your funny smelling maple seeds from?

          • @IlIlIl IlI llIIIl: Apologies, autocorrect. That would be Acer platanoides, the Norway maple. Shipping mature specimens from Norway is devastatingly expensive.

  • Grrrr. I just paid in full 5 days ago

    • same!

      • +4

Just got it refunded through chat.

        • What did you say to achieve this?

          • +1

@Donald Ya: Explained politely that I bought it a few days ago and would appreciate a refund of the difference. Probably helps to be an established customer
