Mens Underwear Recommendations

Hi all, several years Kmart sold the best underwear I've ever bought. They were bamboo cotton seam free trunks, and I've never been able to find anything anywhere near as comfortable. I am forced to look elsewhere though as mine are clinging on for dear life and it's really time for them to go.

The Kmart ones were incredibly comfortable, not too tight or clingy (why I don't like StepOne), breathable and I just never remembered I was wearing them which to me is the ultimate for underwear. I'm going to start trying out other brands, there seems to be quite a few new independent brands available now so please come at me with your recommendations.

Thanks!

Jerry: "Don't you see what's going on here? No boxers, no Jockeys."

      Elaine: "Ohhh."

Jerry: "The only thing between him and us, is a thin layer of gabardine. Kramer, say it isn't so."

Kramer: "Oh, it be so. I'm out there, Jerry, and I'm loving every minute of it!"

I hear you… I’ve just started wearing the tradies ones, much lighter and more forgiving trunks , so they don’t feel like bike pants like the bonds and step one ones do. They are great !!! And better than step one for me. I got 5 pairs for about $50 on Amazon at one point, but if you just want to try them out they are $16 a pair . Search

Bike pants is the perfect way to put it! Thanks will give the Tradie ones a go.

  • I like the kmart ones that have pictures of things I like on them. Fred Flintstone, road runner, south park.
    They are pretty comfy too.

I bought those Monday to Sunday labelled ones from Target, because I had trouble remembering the day and needed to peek at my underwear at work.

Good that you had trouble with days, not months.

My suggestion would be to get a modal material for underwear. Lululemon's underwears are pretty darn airy and comfortable, but they are expensive. I purchased Calvin Klein's modal underwear and so far it felt comfortable, airy, and loose. I am not sure what size you are but Calvin Klein has this 95% modal and 5% elastane currently on a deal for Underwear 1 - It has only size S and XL. The other one has more sizes but a little bit more expensive Underwear 2. You might want to go to store to buy one pack to try since online it has shipping fee.

    • I was going to suggest the Lululemon ones too. Got a few pairs because they wash and dry well for travel. They aren't cheap, but I'm worth it.
The other ones that are good are the Kmart boxers - but only those with fish on them.

Supposed to wash the tadpoles out between uses.

  • Agreed Kmart were the best. Got some full cotton ones from aliexpress which I am liking. Almost as good as the kmart ones.

  • Got Bonds Chaffe Free ones, and quite like them. They’re almost like bike short length though

I've tried bonds, Calvin Klein,Hugo boss, etc and my goto is now the Underarmor boxerjocks. These things are so good that I have converted several family members to wear them as well.

These don't come cheap so check out DFO ex for pricing. Feels amazing all day.

    Highly highly recommended

  • Best budget underwear I ever bought was from H&M. Though apparently I have a different idea of budget than some of you.

    Uniqlo

    • polyester though, impression is that they wouldn't be breathable.

      • I think that you're doing it wrong.

  • I've heard good things about debriefs.com.au
    made from micromodal

I have a pair on its way.

    Bamboozld

  • I just keep buying the alpha bamboo ones from kamrt. They're the best

I used to swear by Step One. Recently bought my first pair in a few years and they are smaller and the quality has definitely dropped so can't say I recommend them any more. Following this thread for further suggestions!

  • Replaced all my older cheaper ones with Calvin Klein boxers and boxer briefs. Much better quality and comfort. Good value at TK Maxx and found them to be better than ones at Costco.

  • I really like uniqlo boxer shorts. Not the airism, just the regular ones

  • Not seamless - but after years of trying different trunks I seam (see what I did there?) to have settled on Maxx at Target as the most comfortable and good quality.

  • Champion boxers on Amazon are a quiet achiever imo. Especially for the price. Not bargain basement but not crazy ex

  • Underarmor boxer jocks

  • Anything with a hint of bamboo is a No no as my shorts/ trousers slip down.

    Step-one worse than any others

It’s UK marks and Spencer etc. for me

    • Marks & Spencer pants were fantastic while I was over there. Is there a way to get M&S items delivered down under for a reasonable amount?

      • -1

I see what you did there.

  • Uniqlo airism esp when on sale
