Nice, i just ordered X5s for playing on tablet via moonlight

  • +1

Almost pulled the trigger on this the other day while playing E33, decided I'd keep my Xbox One S controller till the Steam Controller 2 drops but on sale do y'all think it's worth? I'll only ever use 1 controller

    • +5

I reckon just stick with the one you've got, save up that money for the steam controller 2 if reviews are good. I bought this cause my old XBOX controller broke.

  • Is this good for PC gaming I wanna play GTA V again

    • Great for PC I've been using it for a few months now

I was thinking of getting a Xbox elite series 2 controller for 100 bucks from Facebook marketplace what would be better?

        • +2

I have the elite 2 as well and would recommend the gamesir over it for PC gaming

        • +3

I had the elite series 2 for 2 years and the gamesir 1-2 weeks.

I still prefer the feel of the series 2, it feels more sturdy and premium. But the build quality is shambles. For $100 the gamesir is absolutely punching above its weight. If the series 2 lasted, I'd personally prefer it over the game sir.

          • @lijy85: Thanks peeps! xx

          • @lijy85: Ive done a lot of my own maintenance on my Elite Series 2. you can resolve most of the weird issues just by carefully pulling it apart and cleaning things.

LB/RB issues can be solved relatively easily this way.

I want to replace the sticks with hall effect sticks but im finding conflicting information as some people/sellers say that the left trigger (the triggers are hall effect) interferes with the left joystick.

Excellent controller. I've had this for 2 weeks after my elite series 2 died. Note that it is slightly smaller than the xbox controllers (think the switch pro controller size).

Also to get rumble working with steam os / bazzite, you need to use the wireless dongle and switch modes (I think in desktop mode) so that the pc detects the controller as an "xbox controller".

The software also does not have Linux support (doesn't bother me).

    • +1

The software not having Linux Support is kinda of a bummer tbh. Doesn't affect me but still…

      • Yeah hope that changes, no purchase because of it - hope the steam controller is good

  • +3

how does this compare with GameSir Cyclone 2?

    • I can't comment on this one, but LOVE my Cyclone 2.

Not actually sure what this could improve tbh (though happy to be shown!).

  • Not looking for a 'pro' controller, any recommendations for what is cheap, wireless & works with emulation on linux?

  • +4

If anyone is unsure, then just know its commonly around this price when pairing with coupons.

I should mention, no its not like the xbox controller that is false. I own one and prefer the cyclone 2 as thats like an xbox controller. The g7 pro is more premium, but its smaller and a different shape to the xbox controller.

Nice, seems like a decent upgrade from my 8bitdo Ultimate 2C where the joystick pops off all the time

  • The Bluetooth only works on Android. Cannot use with my fire stick to get xbox working as it will need bluetooth for the controller. Unless the ozbargain community knows how to do this and I am a noob 😅

    • Don't think it will work, there's no option to use the 2.4G USB?

  • Is it available from Temu? There seems to be regular 40% off cashback there

    • I have checked it. The cost will be similar with this deal if 40% cashback, unless if you buy it during Shopback 50% cashback.

Try to buy with a new AliExpress account may result in cheaper price ;-)

  • Wow, really great product assuming all specs etc are great. I wonder how good their firmware is, since that can make/break whether the physical hardware performs up to the spec.

    • +2

Software is pretty good, customisation is quite in-depth (at-least for my Gamesir Cyclone 2). It's handy being able to remap Windows macros/shortcuts directly onto the controller, and the multi-layering of inputs is neat too. Just kinda wish Gamesir Connect was web-based, not software.

  • Managed to get it for $87.60 shipped

  • Wow excellent controller for the price.

  • How does this compare to a 8BitDo Ultimate Controller which also comes with a dock and has USB/Bluetooth connect? Cuz that is about $20 cheaper

  • How good is the dpad? sick of playing 2d games with the xbox controller, which is oversensitive on diagonals

    • From reviews I've looked at, the dpad on this one is one of its weaker points.
