How do these compare with samsung s25 ultra if they were the same price

A comparison would be completely hypothetical and pointless, because the most recent cheapest deal on the S25 Ultra 256GB was $1504.30 for local stock and $1376.55 for grey stock.

      • +28

What about if the Xiaomi was one billion dollars and the Samsung was 50cents?

        • +6

          now you're talking

        • +2

Outright with no plan or trade in?

            • +4

              @michael9865: Where's the deal?

                • +39

@michael9865: You initially said outright, then edited in a trade in. We'll have to call you marshmallow with all these claims.

                • +3

@michael9865: In AUD? When? Show receipt

        • Things that never happened

      • It is 7s gen 4, only half soc performance of s25.

        • Everyone knows that and you've missed his idiotic comparison altogether. You can't compare a $1400 Samsung flagship phone to a budget Xiaomi phone and try to ask how they compare if they were the same price when they're not. The Samsung will obviously be better whatever fantasy pricing it has. Especially if you try to claim it's $450 outright.

Can google any question and all questions that are asked anywhere

      • +6

I assume that you were downvoted because it's chat GPT, or AI but I think its a good answer to a stupid question

      • Feels like there is a triggered AI Samsung botfarm lingering in this thread. And I'm an S25U user, that unlike Michael paid $925 outright for an S24U (using trade -in offer, selling phone with $0 real world value) and upgraded to the S25U for approx $250. And I didn't get the best deal.

        Go nuts triggered crowd.

  • +14

They need to hurry and bring flagship phones over here.

    • -2

Like which and is this better than Xiaomi 15T or 15T pro?

      • +13

17 pro max (not the iphone one lol) and 17 Ultra

        • +3

I've bought the 17 pro max on my last holiday in China and been using it the last 2 months.

Works a treat! No android auto tho, but my BYD's own infotainment is good enough :D

          • @noicegarry: Do you use the back screen much? Galaxy fold back camera photo mode is so hard to use if you don't have giant hands

            • +1

@Save Medicare: Yeah quite often, great way to get high quality selfies or even help your subject frame themselves

          • +2

@noicegarry: I got redmi turbo 4 pro for less than $300 (CNY 1250) from pinduoduo. Snapdragon 8S gen 4. Crazy good. Totally worth it.

            • @xmessa: Any issues with using it in Australia? I read 5g may not work on it?
Pricing does look really good, I'm tempted to get the 16gb+512gb or 16gb+1tb model.

              • +3

@CartoonPizza: No issues encountered. Google Services were installed easily from the mi app store and are supported by Australian service providers without any problems.

Xiaomi UltraThin 5000mAh Magnetic Power Bank $69.50

Looks cool, but not at that price (which is already discounted)…

    • Yeah we've been really spoilt with power bank prices. If it's CCC that could be a bonus, unlike all my INIU 🙃

      • +1

Just did a quick Google and it appears they are using new battery technology (silicon) which would explain the higher price (and the thin profile).

        • Perhaps for the same thickness as existing mag power banks they could fit 10000mah in?

    • Its almost the size of a thin phone, but only 5000mah, I am surprised. Thought would be atleast 7.5 or 10K. No screen, or much hardware.

  • Previously… I called and asked and they said -
It was only - the cable in the box
    No charger adaptor

Has anyone called to ask if it's changed.?
    Xiaomi Australia Customer service

    • +7

No chargers are included (becoming standard everywhere now), but Xiaomi do have a 120W charger available as an add on for $29.50 when the sale goes live.

      • +7

lol its always an excuse is being "green" but actually just an add-on cost disguised as environmental friendly scheme

        • +8

It's also logistically easier. You can ship the same phone world-wide and dont need to generate multiple SKUs for different regions.

Also, they are right that every time i get a phone with a US or EU plug, its binned.

          • @Davo1111: It's effective cost reduction scheme disguised as environmentally friendly and looks good.

            • +1

@neonlight: True. Although I just think there are some benefits for us too. We have "less" issues with grey imports (software and hardware).

  • For anyone who's used hyperos recently, does it still have delayed notification issues?

    • No delays (version 2.0.207.0)

    • +24

If it was actually a straight copy and cheaper, wouldn't it make more sense to buy these than Samsung?

I'm not buying a phone for originality, I'm buying it for the best experience at the best price.

    • +9

I'd argue Nothing have tried to be innovative with their glyph lights and glyph interface. Who else is doing that? Not to mention how well their earphones excel at a lower price.

Though the company was started by Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus.

    • +3

Does the S26 ultra come with a tablet and earbuds for $800?

    • +1

Yeah everyone, just pay over twice as much for a Samsung flagship and wait an extra month for the s26 to be released. Easy. Bargain.

      Troll.

    • +4

Just copying and no originality. Just pay a little more and get the s25/s26 ultra instead

Hmmm - does the below ring a bell? I don't even use iPhones but I find your comment an interesting assertion.

Samsung was the subject of a high-profile lawsuit by Apple, which resulted in a court ruling that early Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets had willfully infringed on Apple's design and utility patents. A jury awarded Apple over $1 billion in damages.

      • +2

Yeah lol, Samsung is basically the inventor of copying in the phone industry. but the samsung pad is good for the s pen.

  • +1

Any word on a xiaomi band 10 pro?

Half expected (hoped) new release to have this with it

  • +1

These still have potato 8MP ultrawide camera. For example compared to Moto who put a 12Mp with autofocus on the Neo 50. AF on ultrawide lets you zoom super close for macro. $799 for too expensive for this unless you really want that massive screen. As someone that prefers small phones not many choices left anymore. The Note 13 was skinny enough at around 74mm, this is a hefty 2 handed phone at 78.38mm

    • +1

It will be a oz deal if the storage is increased to 12gb/256gb for basic version and 16gb/1tb for the larger version.
But it is now like a 20% off clearance on these tablets…

    • I couldn't care less about the camera or video capabilities of a mobile phone. I realise that I'm in the minority, yet it's the feature point of every release and there must be a market for phones that are fast, have good memory, latest upgrades and security with good sound quality.

Perhaps there is such a phone available and I'm unaware of it, but I just want milk that tastes like real milk.

      • with good sound quality.

You talking mic quality or sound quality? Like LG's V30 with the quad-dac sound quality? That ship has long sailed

        • Both, preferably.

  • -1

So basically comparable to PIXEL 7 PRO 256gb for $399 plus a pixel tablet for $499 with a pair of $50 earbud?
    Roughly $200 overpriced.

    • +2

Not sure how you compare that way. But yeah its pixel 7 equivalent its not good

      • -1

        Ram, storage, camera, and processor.
Pixel deals were too good last year killing all these mid-ranges. Even the current Pixel 8 at 499 is the better one.

        • +4

Battery life……. Pixels don't even come close and they sport a smaller screen too! Not Apples for Apple sorry

          • +1

            @DannyBoy: It’s not 1199 now, just 499.
This 799 bundle is way too much.

          • @DannyBoy: battery life does play a part yes but you should also consider just how insane it is for a pixel 7 to be the comparison in terms of performance. I didn't realise how slow it was personally until I saw it's exactly equal to my OnePlus 8 which I got in 2020 for $600. You'd think phones would have come further in 5 years.

to be clear I still think it's a decent deal, but I think it's a better idea long term to get a pixel 8, 9a or even s25 fe, getting something that will actually last you 6+ years like my OnePlus has rather than something short term that will slow down short term.

Xiaomi dont have support or regular updates ,i have atleast 10 devices ,that adbruptly stooped working as soon as they stop releasing updates ,something is build into them , onlybthing is good hardware ,but what use it is ? I habe atleast 5 phones of Xiaomi , 3 camera and some other stuff …all sitting in junk now ….just dont get their products ,instead samsung ones you can use for atleast 5-6 years but Xiaomi ones are sure to die after 2 years

    • +1

how come they stop working only because using old UI ? the function is there unless they are 3G phones and we are here using 4G/5G

    • +3

      I call BS on that.

The only thing that stopped me continuing to use my Xiaomi M4ic was because they took out the 3G towers and some apps started to glitch. If they're supposed to die, then you better tell my Mi Band 7 to stop working. That thing keeps updating and living well beyond it's used by date. At this rate, I won't even get to use my Band 8 I bought all that time ago.

Xiaomi only provides support to devices in regions where it has presence so that means official aussie support only started in October 2025.

The only other option before is the global support platform but considering that they have a metric butt tonne of xiaomi products to provide support for yeah, you weren't going to get regular updates for your Redmi 5, etc years down the road.

      • -1

its not even software support. I checkked my Redminote 9 pro, half devices were supportive and half not. its purely random.

        • +1

What do you mean half of the devices were supported and half were not?

    • Are you able to use the mobiles as
Travel overseas mobiles - data only.?

    • I think you're right with other internet connected devices. Particularly if they are grey imports that require a CN xiaomi account.

Not sure if i agree with you about the phones. all my old ones work but the 3G shutdown made them useless.

tbh when i'm looking at Xiaomi phones, i look at phones listed at the latest stable version.

      https://xiaomi.eu/community/forums/hyperos.228/

      Ie currently 3.0 stable https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/hyperos-3-0-stable-relea…

I've taken the view that i'd rather spend $500 on a xiaomi phone than $1000 on something else and try and make it last twice as long.

  • What's the camera set up? The photos show 3 on the rear, but the specs only list a 200mp main and a 8mp ultra-wide? It's the 3rd fake, or part of a focus system?

    • +1

Looks like a 'fake', the Chinese version of the 15 Pro+ has a telephoto lens (3 rear cameras), the global version doesn't (2 rear cameras)

      Lol

  • +1

haven't touched xiaomi for ages, could it still be flashed with mod eu rom(plug backdoors)?

    • +5

annoyingly grey importers kind of ruined that by flashing their own skinned OS. They now impose a 2 week waiting period.

      https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/hyperos-3-0-stable-relea…

I havent rooted in a long time. but run hyperOS from EU

      • Can you flash EU ROM without rooting and unlocking boot? Passes safety checks?

i like DEX on samsung.. dont think any other phone has this feature? i use it quite often. one stop shop, connect monitor and boom i get sort-of PC. .

    • +5

Actually a lot of other brands have their own "desktop mode" which is basically an extension of the Android 15/16 desktop modes (Motorola, Sony, Huawei etc). However, DEX is the most mature of the lot with the best compatibility and best functionality.

  • -3

Could easily bought it from china online platform for $309 12G+256G or $349 16G+512G,
Why spend double even triple price for a crippled local model?
    https://imgur.com/a/l7n67UJ

    • what? that's over $450 AUD, which is over half of the entire bundle, making it probably fairly close to the actual price of the phone - certainly nothing like double. also are you really asking why people want a global rom not a chinese one?

      • It is $309 AUD not USD thx.
Bonus Redmi Pad 2 Tablet + Redmi Buds 6 worth less than $199 at same platform.

    • +3

You'll miss out on Android features not available in China like Android Auto. Not to mention the lack of AU warranty and the possibility that it may get carrier blocked. There's always pros and cons of local stock vs grey stock.

      • -4

Pay double even triple price for these benefits is not a bargain

  • decent review here - camera not great. but if you're using it as a daily get around thumper, taking into account the extras, might be ok - https://youtu.be/g085XHzAUN8

  • +1

Is this smart doorbell worth getting or is there a better one on the market?

  • +1

    From GSMArena.com:

    Photo quality verdict

We appreciate the small tune-ups in the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ camera department. The new main camera sensor has a better rendition of fine detail and takes better people shots. For some odd reason, however, we find its output at 2x a bit worse than the previous model. It doesn't show any improvement at 4x zoom either, so we wonder what the 4x toggle is still doing in the camera viewfinder. With this release, the ultrawide camera produces slightly sharper images in both good and low light, but there is no getting around the fact that it remains entry-level hardware. The selfie camera has seen a bump in resolution, but unfortunately, it does not mean it takes any better selfies. We like how skin tones come through, but we are starting to think that the fact that faces come out slightly out of focus is intentional.

  • @Clear, any deals on 15T Pro?

    • -1

      Current sale is $999

  • any sub 200$ phone deal?

  • Is it worth paying additional $100 for plus version?

  • Any thoughts on "Xiaomi BE3600 Pro WiFi 7 Mesh Router $159". Need a new mesh system router, the current one(from dodo) does not have enough range.

    • These have global firmware and I saw them in Singapore at the Mi (Xiaomi) store for around this price SGD. The issue is and its really confusing is whether they are a single or a 2 pack. The ones we saw in Singapore are a 2 pack and TechCart (AU) also shows a 2pack for around $188. https://techcart.com.au/product/xiaomi-mesh-system-be3600-pr…

The Xiaomi website (SG and AU) lacks detail as it should be a 2 pack but who is going to buy not knowing what is actually in the box.

Full disclosure: I have plenty of Xiaomi and Redmi stuff - I am actually using 2 x Chinese Redmi AX6000 routers in a mesh config which have been bullet-proof for 2 years (Google translate does an amazing job using the web interface) but was looking at the BE3600 Mesh as an upgrade.

      • The one on my list is single pack
