940

Was tracking the price on this TV after I missed the boxing day sale, and this ends up being a pretty good deal for those also looking for a soundbar.

I ended up grabbing the TCL Q65H 5.1 ch Dolby Atmos Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer.

  • How much s the sound bar?

    • Cheapest TCL soundbar at JB comes down to $199 after bundle.

TCL S55H 2.1ch Dolby Atmos Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer

      • If you don't need the soundbar this price you paying is only a bargain if it's C8K not C7K

  • +10

Solid deal. Picked the same TV up for $100 more, no soundbar, and im happy with it.

Not as good as my OLED but does a solid job. Brighter, more impactful HDR than my OLED for sure.

I do notice some blooming around subtitles but doesn't overly bother me.

Excellent for gaming with low input lag. Especially at 120hz

  • The soundbar is an additional cost. So you’re right, the end price for the tv is $1392 but you’re the forced to also pay for a tcl soundbar

Could do the old return trick I suppose..

    • +1

      T&C's:

If TV or Soundbar is returned for eligible change of mind, offer will be forfeited and offer amount will be deducted from refund amount. Offer ends 28 Jan 2026

      • +3

The title is misleading. Maybe change it to something like one of the previous deals when they had the same promo. Put up price of TV + cost of cheapest soundbar.

        • +3

Good point - I've updated it

From my old post, might be of interest to some..

Have the 85 inch version of the C7K.

    Honestly cannot fault it.

    PROS
    - Super bright, highlights with a black background are blindingly bright!
    - VERY deep blacks, minimal/no haloing (2500+ zones)
    - Glossy w/ a glare reduction coating
    - Awesome for gaming (144hz 4K / 1080p upto 288hz)
    - GoogleTV OS is buttery smooth
    - Response times, input lag all fantastic

    CONS
    - Speakers are meh like most TVs (get a soundbar)
    - There is very minor motion blur at low frame rates, eg. 30fps games and 24fps sports like AFL/NRL
    - Upscaling is OK, it's not on Sony's level for example. 480p/720p doesn't look great on 85 inches.

    9/10 would recommend!

    • have you tried Xbox cloud gaming? is it able to keep up (decode performance)?

    • Sounds as good as it gets with current tech to be fair.

But I did notice the C7K used a fair bit more energy than the C6K and the C8K. Shell was much warmer (which is where the extra energy is going). But dont know why the C7K is different to the other 2.
Maybe different manufacturer of internal LEDS?

    • +1

just bought one, excited to hear your feedback is just as good as the reviews say

the reviews on rtings.com are excellent for the c7k (qm7k for americans)

    • Thanks Linus

these tcl soundbars are fkn stupid. They loudly announce when turned on/off/source changed, with no way to disable/mute/change volume.

everyone's in bed, turn on the TV, "POWER ON" "HDMI 1 SELECTED" no matter how loud the soundbar volume is set. The sound is ok.

    • which model gave you issues?

      • s522w

      • +1

        s522w

        • I dont have that exact model but you can turn it off by press and holding the Voice button for 5 seconds. Give it a try.

  • -1

Grab the TCL Q65H by the soundbar. When you're an Ozbargainer they let you do it.

    • +4

      What’s this mean ?

      • +2

Some stores have a policy to show extra leniency when you show your ozbargain membership card.
Similar to how it's not worth fighting back when you get robbed, its not worth arguing with an ozbargain member.

        • That sounds lit, which stores accept the ozbargain membership card?

  • +5

Have the C855 and even though it is the previous gen, the performance is phenomenal.

Extremely close to OLED performance, if anything better than for bright rooms.

  • +1

This deal also applies to the C8K which apparently is better as it is twice as bright as the C7K

    • Link

    • I have found the C7K amazing and already find it blindingly bright. I cannot imagine how much brighter the C8K and which use case would require that level of brightness. Anyone that has the C8K would love to hear about your experience.

      • +1

C8K here. It is very bright even when in a bright room. And at night when we watch movies, the colours are more vibrant. I think this is my best purchase for TV in my entire life! No regrets.

  • As this applied to the whole TCL range - can anyone comment on the C6K vs C7K?

    • +4

Basically the difference is going to be in black levels and blooming due to dimming zones.

In regards to dimming zones, at 65" the C6K has 242, the C7k has 1008, and the C8k has 1680.

The jump from 242 to 1008 is going to make a huge difference when it comes to HDR/Dolby Vision and especially in regards to blooming. This will be especially noticeable if you are someone who uses subtitles.

Finally, this RTings review (QM6K & QM7K are the US model numbers) may help you.
      https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/tcl-qm6k-vs-tcl-qm7k…

      • Any idea why the C7K uses more energy than the older and newer gen?

        • There is no newer gen, so i'd assume you mean the C8K. The C7K is still the current Mid Range TCl model. I'd guess it would be due to the denser backlight than the C755 (last gen), and maybe a cheaper, less efficient type of Mini-LED than the C8K. All pure speculation though.

          • @witheredcouch: I mean the C6k and C8k both use less power than the C7K. No idea why?

            • @tunzafun001: I would guess that the C6k and C7K both use cheaper, less energy efficient mini LED's, with the C7K having a far higher density so higher power usage, and the C8k is denser but has more efficient Mini LED's. Just a guess though.

  • +1

Just okay IMO. Brings 65" C7K down to just above boxing day prices and needing to purchase a soundbar to access that price.

  • +2

Just price matched an 85" C7K with goodguys online for $2099 from factoryplus

might be able to get them to price match the same 75" tv for $1550 and you dont need to buy a soundbar you dont want

    • might be able

      tell us your experience, mister!

      • +1

JB hifi knocked me back via the online chat, good guys however match it straight up.

https://factoryplus.com.au/products/tcl-65c7k-65-inch-c7k-pr… is the factory plus site, its brand new not factory second or damaged box and they have bricks and mortar stores in Sydney and its in stock. JB hifi tried to say it was a factory second but clearly didn't look at the link, appliances online just straight up noped.

JB came back with like 2300$ as their best price, but GG matched exactly @ 2099

price match guarantee for appliances online and jb hifi sounds similar to bunnings, we will price match anyone* (T&Cs apply: p.s we will only price match these two other retailers)

        • Apparently if you swear and get aggressive with them on chat they give you better prices

          • @adam149: I wish that worked with Qantas call centers

      I got a 85 inch c8k for less 3 weeks ago… Not a great deal

      • Deets?

      • +1

cool story bro, thanks for sharing the deal

        • ive shared this before, searching through past deals youll see multiple people have got a similar price.

      • Share the receipt!

    • Also tried price matching with goodguys but best they could give me was around 2300 which they said was the price of the tv delivered from factoryplus.

Jb also straight up told me they wouldnt match factoryplus

  • Do you think youd be able to just return the sound bar?

    • this has been explained here

How far away are we from TCL RGB Mini-LEDs hitting the market?

    • RGB BRB

    • Did you mean MicroLED? I read 2028 predicted for consumer models. Samsung and LG were showing off models at this recent CES but i believe they said costs $30k for the 115inch.

      • Ah yep that's the one. Saw the CES panels, looked great. But if it's still a couple years off, might have to bite the bullet on a C8K

  • What was the price at Xmas/Black Friday - is this a better deal?

    • +1

Looking at Google price tracking, JB's price for BF was $1666, and $1576 for boxing day.

  • Is this 20% off just the TV or the bundle

    EDIT: 20% off both

  • +1

    HN has the same deal..

  • +1

I purchased a new 65" C8K for $1570 instore on January 7th and it was delivered Jan 9th. That is the same as 21% off the current price, without having to buy a soundbar (which is only a good option if you don't have space for dedicated speakers). This is not a bad deal if you want a TV before sales in March/April

  • I want to pull the trigger on a 75" ck7 so bad. Holding out with hopes that EOFY sales offer some great deals on either the ck8 or OLEDs.

    • Go for the C8K. Trust me, better the extra cents.

  • +2

I paid $1386 + 8% cashback on Boxing Day for the 75 inch c7k and it just arrived yesterday. Wow what a TV. Dolby Vision Remuxes look amazing on it, and the 4K 144hz game mode is awesome with a PC connected. Definitely worth it even at this price.

We got the 65C8K and the Q85H TCL soundbar. They weren't bundled, but we bargained hard by pairing them together and got the 65" cheaper than expected. We even talked them down to $599 for the soundbarand managed to get it from $799RRP when it was first lauinched.

We ended up returning the soundbar, though, because of a background hiss. TCL confirmed the defect over the phone, and after seeing similar complaints online, we swapped it for a different brand.
    https://www.tcl.com/au/en/soundbar/q85h

Seriously though, go for the C8K and bargain HARRRRDDD!!! it went down to about $1.5-1.6K before for the 65'. You won’t regret it. We paired ours with a Samsung Q990 after returning their PRO soundbar-which surprisingly they’re not selling online anymore. the Samsung bar is on promotion now too and read the reviews and it’s a match made in heaven—IMAX Enhanced movies and Dolby Atmos sound amazing! Match them together and it’s so orgasmic. LOL.

    • What price did you end up on for both? Tried bargaining on the 75" a couple weeks ago and the staff member wasn't having it.

      • We got the 65 one. Wanted the 75 but it’s too big for our wall. That would’ve been better! Ended up negotiating and it got it for $1250!!! 🤫🤫🤫
With the soundbar for $599 and promised them to get the aftercare thingy. But we returned the bar eventually and got the Samsung instead.

All in all we paid about $1950 including the aftercare. We bargained hard. Plus, we got a few stuffs but TGG namely this particular person. We are considered regulars to them so he gave us a good price that we can refused.

        • Great price. Did they make you repay the 20% bundle discount for returning the TCL soundbar?

          • +1

@railspider: No they didn’t. Since we changed the bar to another brand (Samsung) so they didn’t ask to repay or refund back. We topped up the difference. No regrets. Samsung Q990F is good. Check the reviews. And also the price went down by now.

  • Missed out on the boxing day deals but ended up pulling the trigger with good guys, lowest they could offer me for the 85” c7k and q65h bundle was 2398

  • +1

JB wouldnt let me take a 65" C7K home without signing a waiver.
They said it would be transportable in a Rav4.
Including delivery end price for 65C7K with S55H sound bar $1380.

They showed me a pamphlet they have showing an SUV can only fit upto 55" TV.

    • *they said it would not be transportable in a Rav4.

      • +1

Note: can get a 65" in a prado, it is on the piss mind you. 55" for a rav seems reasonable.

I've done it short distances and it's fine. Wouldn't launch over speed bumps etc.

        • They want it vertically standing for warranty purposes. Oh well… paid for delivery.

    • +1

I assume you had to have it horizontal? Their rules would be based on what it can fit vertically.

      • Correct. Their guidelines say it must ne transported vertically.

        • Yeah, recently transported a 65C7K in a Captiva, made sure it was super cushioned but due to potential flex it's not ideal to be flat. Managed to survive the hour and a bit drive unaffected though.

Cheap soundbar no longer available at JB.

  • I got this TV for $1500 + $65 delivery with $150 back in Harvey Norman gift cards.

Not sure if it's a better deal than this or not.

    • +1

sounds like a good deal for 75 inch tv

  • Was this television cheaper at the time of posting this?

I can only get the cart to $1,791.20 off what you purchased.

  • I wanted to purchase TCL75' C7k and Samsung 930F soundbar. What is the best price for both of these items ?

Can anyone please let me know ?

    Regards,
    Krishna.
