Been waiting for the Oppo Find X9 (base) to go down and didn't think it'd be so early this year. If you chat with the Live chat you might be able to shave off little bit more off the ticket price.
Unfortunately for those after the Oppo Find X9 PRO version this one doesn't look like it's on sale.

China version don't have a working Android auto which is something i for sure want(I bought a new car 2 months ago.)

OPPO is really overpriced in Australia. Even after discounts, it’s still much more expensive than the launch price in China.:(

Yeah i was confiding this with a JB staff and they mentioned it's because of the tariffs they put on it. I was contemplating getting it from Singapore since it'll be about $1,400 AUD equivalent, then this sale came along.

what tariffs??? tariffs or just markups for profit???

Exactly. Bullshit reason just to make more profit

Under the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement electronics, including mobile phones, have an import duty of 0%. Either Oppo or JB are price gouging - probably both.

Australia is more expensive everything for same product anywhere else. It's taxes, import fees and just location of Australia being bottom of the hemisphere.
It's not going to be the same price as China as they don't need to ship it across the world. They basically go from factory to store
People always say this but this isn't like a few hundred more. It's double the price here.

Agree. Really like the phone but can't bring myself to pay $2.2k+ for an item that sells for $1.2k overseas.
Absolute scam.

We're not living in China if you haven't noticed.

ye
but it doesn’t justify overpricing. The price is still way above reasonable.
Go live in China then , you can't have it both ways ⁉️

Oppo Find X9 5G 512GB $1,499
Any good deals on other models like the 'Gangnam Style'?

Ayyy… sexy JV
Op, op, op, op, Oppo is Gangnam style, uhhh

It's a very solid machine with arguably the best camera on the market atm. The only downside for me is the screen reflection, my eyes get very dry after 5 mins looking at it.

Matt screen protector

I didn't want to take the risk. But I did find a decent matt protector resolves the reflection problem on my Edge25.

What phone were you coming from? what is unique about the Oppo x9 re screen reflection?

Coming from a Z-flip 3. I've got sensitive eyes so I'm picky to screens but obviously there're lots of people out there with the same feedbacks on the screen which is a deal-breaker to me. I then went for Vivo x300 instead which was a regret buy as well due to similar experience. Guess I'm just one of those exceptions. With that said, both phones sell really well in Asia and the cameras on both phones beat Samsung/Iphone, they are just not marketed as hard as Iphone/Samsung in AU.

Thank you regarding the screen reflection thing. I did not know it was a known issue that a number of people complained about. Do you know the technical reasons why? Only s24u and s25u have anti reflection at a decent amount. The 17 series have also adopted a similar but lesser screen reflection ability.

@odb: From what I gathered it's due to the choices of the screen they source as phone companies have their own suppliers for screens, chips and etc. Some brands are notorious for the screens they choose like Oppo. Not to say their screens are bad but there tend to be more complaints heard about Oppo's screen, just like Samsung's small battery. I've owned quite a few samsung phones, Flip, Fold and the S-series and I own a Flip 3 and Edge25 now. I almost sold the Edge25 (which has the same screen as s25+) cos I was experiencing the same issue with my eyes, not as bad as with Find X9 or X300, but then I decided to invest in a decent matt protector, which surprisingly solved the problem.

Find X5 Pro still going strong.

+1. I just replaced my aged battery at Oppo. Feeling this phone can serve for another 2 or 3 years.

how much was battery replacement min could do with a refresh

Did this during a trip to China. Cost about 30AUD and half an hour to get it done.

same here, got it mid 2022 from ozbargain deal, I recall it was $650.
Hoping to replace it with the X9 pro this year.

Give us the X9 Pro for that much and I will be SOLD!

I wonder why Vivo phones are not sold officially in Australia. The X300 is so damn cool.

Would love to see some competition, the Aus market is just Samsung and Apple with Pixel and Moto filling up the void.
I think phone and sim deals are so boring now and would shake up the market taking on Vivo and their flagship models.
Even Realme GT 8, Oneplus 15 and even Honor.
I think it was sold in Aus before, just not anymore

I took the risk of importing the X200 pro. Worth it so far.
Camera and battery are stand outs.

Same phone I am considering jumping on, did you get the Chinese version and have there been any issues with Android Auto or activating google assistant, etc?

I got the global because I wanted android auto and location tracking.
I understand the Chinese version has android auto now so worth double checking yourself.
And the global now runs origin os 6.

I bought a Vivo X300, chinese version and didn't have problems with any apps in Singapore. I didn't connect it to Android Auto so cant comment.

Currently using Oppo Find X8 Pro and everyone who looks at the photos from my phone are impressed especially when some of them are coming from IPhone Pro and Samsung Ultra users

Has anyone purchased any Oppo x8/x9 or Vivo x200's/300's from Aliexpress? Thinking of jumping on to it but unsure of the success from Chinese roms and using the google features in Australia?

I think the bigger risk would be the phone being blocked by Telstra.

not from Ali, but from Singapore . Paid $1500 total for X9 pro. There is a whirlpool forum page if you are interested

Interested please.

They are China ROMS that have several limitations.

I bought my X300 through Taobao didn't have any issue. Obviously the Chinese ROMs come with more features than the global ROMs from what I gathered.

I been using vivo x200pro Chinese rom from China since nov 2024 there is Android auto most feature works including Google wallet. only tbing is that voice assistant is Chinese and you have install Google assistant and go in the app to use it. my wife have vivo x200pro mini bought from aliexpress works fine. a lot cheaper to buy from aliexpress.
Been on optus network with no problem since Nov 2024.

I bought an Oppo Find X9 Pro whilst I was in China and have no issues in general, the system has a toggle to enable google services as well and the rep at the Oppo store set up all the Google services for me before leaving China.
Was worth the saving since they sold the 1TB model in China for roughly $1400.
Message delays can be fixed with a simple workaround. Wallet, authenticators, Android Auto all work fine. I don't use Google assistant though so can't comment, but the AI tools are all in Chinese (and you can set up a Chinese HeyTap account to access the features if you wish).
On Telstra and it's been fine. Vodafail had some issues even with the global model.

I just got the Find x9 Pro for $1650 last week. Last one that that Best Mobile had in stock. Awesome phone. I would have been annoyed if JB had it on sale a week later.

Would it be better to buy OnePlus 15 instead?

Inferior camera.

This or 15T Pro?

This will have a new chipset and bigger battery. 15t pro for bigger screen. I would think camera would be slightly better on X9 as well but both would be very good based on reviews.

How does the camera compare to vivo 300 pro or Xiaomi 17 ultra
I'm just in china at the moment
Phones here aren't allowed to have esims but I saw one person type earlier that you can work around that using a physical esim convertor

don't bother with Xiaomi if you want to use Android Auto.

I'm trying to decide between fold 8
Vivo 300
Xiaomi 17 ultra
Oppo x9 pro

bro is from the future.
quick, what's the price of bitcoin or ram or whatever?

Haha fold specs and date already released
The others currently available in china where I am now
I had a play with the cameras and the cute add-ons to vivo and Xiaomi
I think wait another 3-6 months but always something new coming

Cheaper to buy a round trip plane ticket to SEA to buy the Find X9 PRO version, Oppo prices in Australia are actually unreal haha.

Second time getting excited before realising that its the non pro on sale today.
Put the pro on sale god damnit.
