I bought a huge pack a few years back. I was surprised how long they last in kids toys.

    No delivery to Darwin unfortunately

good stuff. enough to last my miniz forawhile

  • Wow

  • $47.15 at checkout for 300 pack. 15.7c per AAA. That's real cheap.

  • Buy this or the rechargeables? mmmm

Although these are comparatively terrible for the environment, I find them more cost effective because I seem to "lose" them in my kids toys.

At 16c a pop for these, you would need to cycle a $2 rechargeable 12 times before they become cost effective (and that doesn't consider that better rechargeables like eneloops generally cost more)!

I still keep rechargeables around but they are dedicated to a few high drain devices so I know where they all are. Everything else get these!

"According to Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies, a rechargeable battery needs to be used and recharged about 50 times before its total carbon footprint and resource depletion become lower than the 50 alkaline batteries it replaced. If you use a rechargeable battery only a few times and then lose or toss it, it is actually worse for the environment than a disposable."

        • Going to bet this study didn't include the resource footprint of alkaline batteries leaking/destroying devices. This, if for no other reason, is why I only use Eneloop/Ladda batteries now.

        • How do they compare on environmental harm at end of life?

    • This is 1.5V, whereas most rechargeables are 1.2V.

Thanks, ordered, Mrs then said I'm no longer required, not sure why..

  • Any aa’s?

    • AA, cheap but not quite as attractive as the AAA.

      • Yeah bit pricey. $36.55 for 150x

If you eat this you will become unwell

  • just be mindful of the shelf life. 5 years vs 10 years

Thanks to Duraleaks I read any shelf life rating of AAAs with a grain of acid

    • Industrial grade of use or industrial mass production? How these got only 1/2 the shelf life?

      Title is very questionable …

      • Industrial doesn’t mean its better it seems. Its built for fast moving use cases. For example in a business setup where you have to change batteries very frequently for multiple equipments.

        • I see. It refers to industrial scale of supply and usage.

    CCC?

Am I correct in that the only thing industrial about these is the pack sizes?

ChatGPT says they are the same as the others.

    • +1

Bulk, cheaper and shorter shelf life.

  • I have plenty of rechargeable, but it might be nice to have some disposables.

    • +2

      some

      Title: 150 pack

Three for the Water Pik, could get through them quick. I notice rechargeable that go in the Water Pit end up a little rusty.

  • From the thumbnail I thought this was a giant box of white monster

  • +6

Having switched to rechargeables, disposables seem so incredibly wasteful. Even though they're cheap I can't bring myself to go back to them.

    • +2

Recharge the alkalines. You can do it at least 3-4 times

      • Does it really work?

        • Yep it does

          • @IlIlIl IlI llIIIl: Good to know. Tho Google says generally not recommended due to safety risks (leakage, explosion from gas buildup) and poor performance. Having a specific charger for Alkalines might do the job. I think we can repurpose it on minor tools/toys.

Also, maybe one day at nowhere can save my day.

Mines coming up as $44.90, in NSW

  • 16c per battery? Just reinforces my determination to not buy batteries from Amazon or Ebay.

  • yummm

  • Oh it can vibrate forever

  • Showing as $44.90 less $7 at checkout?

  • Damn these are AAAs, I thought they were AAs. What am I meant to do with 150 AAAs…
