Pelago by Singapore Airlines: 28% Cashback (No Cap) + 8% Apple Pay (Capped at $20) @ ShopBack

580

This was amazing for my last Japan trip - most (if not all) of my bookings were valid and tracked perfectly. Yes, this included Disney and USJ.

Note: There seems to be NO cap on the 28% - the additional 8% has a cap of $20.

You won't get Cashback on:

Disney Cruise
Items specified in this list
Store promotions, discounts or special deals unless otherwise stated
Any Gift Card, Voucher or store credit purchase
Any Gift Card or Voucher redemption
Other loyalty programmes unless otherwise stated
Purchases made with Vouchers or Promo codes not featured on our platform
Taxes · Booking fees · Credit card charges
Any exceptions will be at the store's discretion.

Note: The "exclusions link I linked above is very confusing - it splits the list into two categories, special activities and excluded activities. It is the excluded activities (currently the Singapore GP and bookings made with SG Culture Pass credits) that is "excluded", not the special activities.

  • Looks like a great deal - will give this a try for our upcoming trip to Bangkok/Phuket.

Since this is only capped to $20 per member, does anyone know any other good travel experience website for discounted experiences?

    • +2

There is no cap! The only cap is the Apple Pay bonus.

      • Oh, nice one! thanks heaps

    • Last time I was able to buy some tailored suits on Pelago in Thailand with this cash back :)

  • +7

Check your Amex for $15 back from $100 offer for Pelago for discount stacking.

    • 30 off 300 for me

  • I highly recommend Pelago. Used them recently to purchase a bunch of tickets for stuff in Singapore and Hong Kong. Just check the exclusions list for ShopBack like Disney.

    • Ohhh booooo was just looking to buy Disney through them haha. Good thing you gave a headsup

      • @gotyourback can you please clarify this exclusion/special activity list?

SB site says you will not get cashback on things in this list https://pages.pelago.co/shopback-exclusion-special-activitie…, but then in the list it says special activities are applicable for SB cashback???

Will Tokyo DisneySea/Land tickets be eligible for the 28% cashback or not?

Note: The "exclusions link I linked above is very confusing - it splits the list into two categories, special activities and excluded activities. As I said in my post, this list is confusing but can confirm that in the past, it was confirmed the only exclusions are on the "exclusions" list.

I was paid out for my Disney and so have many others (click on Pelago on this site to see past shopback deals)

          • @Poison Ivy: Yeah I saw your note, was trying to get GYB to confirm. Couldn't see anywhere in OP you stated you got cashback before for booking Disney as well, or where it was confirmed previously.

            • @knobbs: All good. Probably for the best to get him to confirm so we have a trail if there are any issues, which seems to be a regular occurrence with SB lol

I mentioned Disney in my first line.

        • Yes, you will get cashback on disney tickets as I've been there back in October. I had the same special list.

The price of ticket is more expensive comparing to official site iirc but overall with cashback, you will save quite a lot.

          • @sakuratest: Just saw I can't book for October yet anyway. Getting excited for nothing

Oof annoying - literally booked 3 activities through them last weekend at 23% off.. may need to determine if its worth rebooking them all.

    Few things to note:

    • I used my AMEX card for the $15 back and was surprised to not get charged an international transaction fee (Qantas Ultimate).. I'm sure Pelago always used to process payments outside of Aus, so not sure if something has changed?

    • Shopback did have an 'Earn more' promotion for an additional $30 off $250 spend, which I had previously joined up to and my partner joined up at the time of booking; only for Shopback to then say all rewards had been redeemed after the fact. Seems a bit cheeky to let it still be joined and then pull that..

    • Also the Apple Pay component never tracked for me when I booked, so be prepared to need to chase them on that..

    • I'm sure Pelago always used to process payments outside of Aus, so not sure if something has changed?

Got charged a foreign transaction fee on my HSBC star alliance cc last month.

      • Same here, got stung 3% with me Westpac Altitude MasterCard 😢

        • Bought Skybus tickets twice via Pelago - first time StG credit got charged the foreign transaction fee, while second time Westpac debit didn't. Bizarre.

    • +1

Been a while but when I had my AMEX it charged a foreign fee only when when you were charged in a foreign currency. At the time it was AUD = no fee regardless of the location of the payment processor unlike Mastercard/VISA.

      • Pelago wouldn't accept my AMEX this time so had to use NAB who added a 3% foreign transaction fee.

    • +2

AFAIK amex only charge a foreign fee on non AUD denominated transactions, irrespective of the merchant is overseas based

    • Reminder that we have a wiki page where you can check if "Australian" sites charge international fees. I also added a note regarding Amex not charging fees for AUD which was already in the Card wiki.

Didn't know about Pelago until now, good promo!

  • Just in time for Skybus. Thanks!

  • This was amazing for my last Japan trip - most (if not all) of my bookings were valid and tracked perfectly. Yes, this included Disney and USJ.

Day passes for Japan for Disney and usj?
Do they just supply a QR code or something for scanning at the gate?
Trip in a few months so tickets not available yet for my trip, but any tips much appreciated:)

I used the previous 28% off Pelago offer earlier in the month for about $1400 worth of tickets etc in Singapore - I now have almost $400 cash back pending. For universal studios I could actually load the codes Pelago gave me in their confirmation booking (under the QR code) directly into the Universal Studios app and they came straight up as valid tickets with names and everything, including any bonus vouchers (like % off of $ off food/drinks). For other places I just showed the QR code that Pelago provided. Worked seamlessly for USS, botanic gardens, Jurrasic park at Gardens by the Bay, Harry Potter, water park etc.

  • Can someone confirm if I buy 5 x Disneyworld tickets for $5,000 do i get approx $1,400 back. Is there a cap on what I can get back?

    • I need to know this too

  • I thought USJ and Disney are excluded per the list?

    • is that just Hong Kong and Toyko Disney?

  • That's weird, the activity I was looking at was $180, now it's $220, is it just me or some got jacked?

  • Headed to Bali. Worth buying through here or buy local?

    • Worth buying tru bonnie blue bangbus.

  • I have used Pelago several times and highly rate. Used them to buy theme park tickets on the Gold Coast with great cashback.

  • I booked Disneyland Hong Kong and it tracked.

    • How long after booking did it take for the cashback track to show in shopback please mate?

  • You reckon Disneyland Anaheim in Los Angeles would be eligible for cashback?

    • I want to know if Orlando tracks

  • Has anyone ever tried the Pelagos Singapore Attraction pass bundle? I can’t find exceptions and looks like it’s decent value?

    • Bout a little ago with a view of using for Universal Studios, Gardens by the bay and teh Singapore Flyer. With cashback turns into a pretty big saving.

      • +1

Thanks ma. Bit the bullet last night and just did it. Tracked straight away. Pretty stoked with the savings.

  • Everything I want to book (Gardens by the Bay, SIngapore Zoo) won't let me book for April. :(

    • Have a look at the Pelago Singapore pass. Cashback eligible and should allow April bookings.

      • "This Pelago Pass is valid for usage between 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026, 23:59 hrs. Pass is valid for 30 days from activation or 31 March 2026, 23:59 hrs, whichever is earlier. All redemptions must be completed by 31 March 2026, 23:59 hrs."

Nope.. Just out of range unfortunately. I'll just have to hope for another deal.

        • +1

Ah sorry mate. We're traveling in March so we just sneak in!

  • Can anyone confirm if this works on walt disneyworld in Orlando tickets ?

    Its confusing

  • anyone still waiting for the apple pay bonus cashback tracked ?

    • -1

Yep.. ended up cancelling and re-booking as per my comment; https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/17279637/redir

Neither time the Apple Pay bonus has been tracked. I've taken a screenshot of the 8% rate and will be chasing Shopback up after the 7 days elapses..

  • mine is tracked for similar apple pay promotion on 19 December using my westpac credit card. but this one doesn’t specify which card i need to use , so i use my ANZ credit card. maybe i wrongly see the requirements, anyone?
