Comes to $18.99 each, excellent price for a new cylinder.
Promotion ends tomorrow. I only saw the pink bottles at Costco North Lakes. Unsure if this sale is nationwide.

I bought my SodaStream a few months ago and Iove it! I reckon my cylinder's about to run out soon. After watching that video I'm thinking of switching to one of those bigger tanks to see how it goes. Does anyone know roughly how much a big tank costs?
I bought a 6L from keyland and it was $120 filled, and the hose was another $50?.. the refills are $40 and take like 2 mins to swap and go..

only if.you're doing it at Kegking.
Many Homebrew shops refill (they should do it overnight after popping it in a fridge, somit compresses & actually.fills) but you're looking at $60-$70.
@M00Cow: so happy my place doesnt do that, they flush it with co2 to rapidly cool it then refil and they always put a bit extra. 6kg lasts about a year.
it did get my into home brewing so im not sure if it even saved anymoney
I was wondering if anyone explored the safety side of this CO2 Mod considering CO2 can potentially be toxic and if you have a leak for a huge bottle
I was thinking maybe I could get a cheap CO2 sensor from the new ikea range and stick it in the same cabinet for a leak warning
https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/alpstuga-air-quality-sensor-sma…
Hmm that's a good question. I definitely would do a soap test on all your connections. But I hadn't considered a CO2 monitor. Probably a good idea!
You choose how many bubbles to add. You are an OVERBUBBLER!!
I don't think those full size cylinders work out much cheaper.
Most cities have a cheaper place to refill, around $10. Or you can go the dry ice method for very cheap.
I've got a large cylinder kit. It will pay for itself by the time I need to refill my first cylinder, in terms of not doing SS swaps at $19ea. Refilling it should be the equivalent of $3-4/SS cylinder. Vastly cheaper and in line with OZB.
Refills are $10 using Billy Bubbles… There is more gas in their cylinders too…
Delivery is $5 or free if you use the referral system on OzBargain.
They don't deliver to my area so it's not an option for me unfortunately.
Wow awesome
I prefer to call him William Wubbles
+1 to this, used Billy Bubbles multiple times and it's been fantastic as they just pick up and drop off the new ones. Good if you don't have the bench top space for a big gas cylinder
They've now also moved to same day delivery, 5 days per week…
Israeli brand, no thanks.
Also Drinking too much SodaStream can lead to gas, bloating & potential tooth enamel erosion, especially if sweetened or consumed excessively.
Watch for digestive issues like GERD/IBS aggravation& dental concerns.
I'm afraid they are correct.
Water + CO2 = Carbonic acid.
But yes, sweetened will provide an acid + substrate for bacteria.
@tunzafun001: yes but it doesn't stay in your mouth long enough to do any damage with such a weak.acid. Fruit & fruit juice is much worse, but again not a problem because it's not in your mouth long enough. It's just a story someone made up because of the word acid.
fair enuf. hope you don't buy US products either. No.Apple products, not Maccas/KFC/etc
deal. united shits can go suck a bag of eggplants

Personally i.think the Israeli Govt are a pack.of b@stards, but I don't understand why people feel the need to extend that judgement to it's citizens, corporations or religious affiliations. It's plain idiotic racism dressed up as activism.
@M00Cow: @M00Cow that's literally how boycotts work. Putting pressure on international corporations to pull out of said country is basically the playbook. Can't see how that is racism. Anyway Sodastream specifically had factories setup in illegal settlements and has a history of exploiting Palestinian workers.
@saltysalt: get your facts right saltysalt-
Sodastream was paying excellent wages to Palestinian workers and it was those workers who were most upset when ignorant activists like you forced the company to move the factory
@M00Cow: When you have a race that is also a religion then that means anyone can convert into that race/religion. So makes playing the racism card silly.
Its the ideology of "chosen people" that I am against 100%
Australians hating on Americans will never not be funny to me, as a European.
Yeah. I have no appetite for apartheid and genocide
This has nothing to do with whether it's a deal objectively. No one is forcing you to buy this product.
Agreed
Boycott. Sodastream supports genocide
can't find that in their company website, care to point me.to it?
T and C maybe to your teeth?
The occupied people of Tibet and the persecuted Uyghurs are just wondering if you show the same zealous treatment to the country that is doing it to them…
yes the hypocrisy is annoying.
This is US/UK propaganda; the firner is worldwide evidence ;)
@srr: Which news portal do you trust?
It's covered by nearly every news portal, whether left-wing or right-wing.
Another pro-israel strategy: let's introduce a red herring to divert the attention from the genocide in israel
China never claims to be the "only democracy in the ….(add your region).
One gets paid slave wage, has to go through humiliating checkpoints and treated like a second class person. Sure, that's living and working "together" under apartheid
what genocide Palestinian population continues to increase year on year depite Hamas terrorist efforts to use their people as human shields
You are a racist. Reported
did someone say KHAMASH
CO2 tank, regulator, carbonator cap and ball lock is the true OzBargain over supporting that brand
Is there some sort of guide on the best way to go about this? My old SodaKing unit uses these screw in canisters and I have been wanting to ditch these for a larger more cost effective solution for a while now. Everything I see online seems to be Americans talking about buying products over there, which isn't really something we can do here.
I think Kegking used to sell the adapter kit to 6L bottle, not a heavy user here and a bottle easily last 6months so not worth the cost.
See my video above. Shows all you need and demonstrates it.
@gadgetguy: Do normies really follow this to find out what components to buy?
Does this website have a comprehensive list of components to complete the "CO2 tank, regulator, carbonator cap and ball lock" set up? As in the video?
I posted a video solution above. They also provide solutions which don't even need a Sodastream.
Looks like they don't sell those connectors for the external threaded units. It's hard to tell if any of the other bits and pieces on their site are supposed to convert the old thread to the new style attachment system.
@XVX: There are other sites selling sodastream cables and adapters. You can try googling for a solution for the old school screw in connectors. Also check AliExpress - they sell sodastream stuff.
@gadgetguy: Yeah, I did come across a listing on AliExpress for some affordable adapters with a bunch of varying ends for what seems to be different tank fittings, so I just need to work out what tank will be most accessible to buy and refill and figure out which of the fittings will suit.
hope you're boycotting Microsoft too
https://bdsmovement.net/news/sign-pledge-boycott-microsoft%E…
Yes, moving to Harmony OS Next as soon as available/possible globally & Linux in other cases, instead of anything iHype or MS ;)
Yep, M$ gave me a reason to jump over to Linux years before boycotting them for helping Israel to use their AI to target people in a game of murder in the style of robodebt
Certainly. I use Linux
Am boycotting Microsoft as much as I reasonably can. I Do not purchase any of their products.
Can these be purchased for non-Sodastream use? asking for a friend.
they will work fine with soda king. they are both the same standard bottle
The pink ones are not the standard connector.
Nope, if Sodastream wasn't problematic enough, they've started to enshittify and introduce these proprietary pink gas containers, which are incompatible with any other soda maker.
Just asking, is it cheaper and more convenient if I don't drink much, but each time I drink, I only consume 100ml per day? Is the machine going to keep the gas ready for me?
It last me 6 months, the gas inside cylinder only release when use, so pretty much stay active, but you need the standard bottle, which is about 1L to bubble it up.
the sodaking half bottles work on our machine.
Good to know, I have been using the same 2 bottles come with the Sodastream, both are 1L size.
Thanks, I found out that the minimum bottle is 500ml, so I assume at least I have to make 500ml per run. Technically I think I can just carbonate 500ml of water and then pour syrup based on what I can consume - but that sounds so complicated. Looking at other brands I see that Ninja Thristi can make small portion, but only blue Sodastream gas cylinder can be installed to Ninja one. Guess that I'll stick to buying can by can
I only bubble the water, pour syrup in the cup then filled with bubble water, if not just stir with spoon, so you don't have to wash the bottle every time.
If someone needs cheap bottles, I have a whole bunch as our shop close down, $15 per bottle including bottle no swap. Also if you need spare empties to refill $5each. Screw top sodaking works on sodastream also. DM me please. In South East Melbourne. Clayton to Cranbourne.
Admin please delete if not allowed. Thanks
I got a deal like that from Spotlight last year when they sold me a new bottle for the price of a refill. Given the conversations I'd had with them previously on numerous occations where I had to explain how the sytem worked, I just decided to take the win and get what was essentially a free bottle. Call it a consultation fee. Maybe when they start to account for missing bottles they will start training their staff to do their job properly.
$19 for a full bottle is basically the refill price, so on that score it's a good deal. But refil for sodastream is more expensive than soda king so at some point you'll be paying that saving back unless you quit while you are still ahead. In the long long run you'd be better off with a soda king bottle to refill.
When I went to get an exchange I had to insist they keep the old bottle
better off getting a Sodatap
I bought my first Sodastream last year. I carefully kept track over my first two bottles and was only getting around 30L per bottle.
I'm now using a cable/adapter and a full sized cylinder from Kegland. Reckon it will last about a year.
