Worth the upgrade from a iPad 10?

I was considering this upgrade for my kids as they've pretty much maxed out their storage on their iPad10. It's a subtle upgrade. If I can get close to $300+ for my kids used iPad then I think it would be a worthy upgrade.

I believe $300 for ipad 10 is fair price and you should find buyers soon on MP. I have seen people post it for $500+ as well, not sure what’s their thinking behind it.

Seems like a new 50% faster A19 chip based base ipad with 8GB ram is due in 2 months. Worth the wait I guess if you dont need one right away.

Yeah. But, is the new ipad cheaper than this though. And with all the ram shortage.

Wait for Temu 50% cashback when the new iPad has been sold by a local seller. During Shopback 50% cashback for Temu, it's cheaper like under $350 for this iPad 11-Inch A16 … Even during 40% cashback every month, this ipad can be around $405 after cashback …

temu sells ipad? 🤔

I got a feeling they won’t honor this :) but I’m going to try with temu thanks heaps for the tip

@Wil747: I got cashback from Nintendo Switch OLED purchase from Temu through Topcashback :P
Now I am waiting for a much bigger cashback from a very expensive phone purchase from Temu through Shopback (sold for profit) ;-)

@onetwothreefour: That's two accounts in the same address. They should just put City location for address. No problem with my Topcashback accounts in some countries (only PayPal email for withdrawal and no any other info) and Shopback account so far :)
I have got profitable cashback withdrawal from Topcashback Italy recently and waiting for another profit withdrawal from Topcashback USA ;-)

Rumours are Apple has secured enough RAM for over a year's worth of product, and they dont wait the last moment to do it. So only time will tell if they decide to jack up the prices of the new hardware which has just 2GB extra RAM. But that much performance difference and with less than 2 months wait, I feel its worth the wait to see how it turns out. This deal is like paying 1400 for S25 Ultra when S26 Ultra is just 1.5 months away. If you need it right away then buy it, if not then it's worth the wait.

Of course it most likely won't be cheaper, but it will at least bring down the price of earlier generation models.

Would this support future apple intelligence (behind the scenes Google Gemini)?

Officially, a16 iPad does not support Apple intelligence. FWIW imo Apple Intelligence is trash (and I say that as an Apple user)

Apple intelligence is an oxymoron.

When I moved from Android to an iPhone I was actually shocked at how useless even Siri is.

@bunnybash: I second this. I tried moving from an android to an iPhone about 2 years ago and questioned myself if an iPhone was even a "smartphone". But I think iOS has definitely evolved to a mature and smart mobile operating system over the years.

@bunnybash: The Siri that launched initially was so much better than today's Siri. Someone at Apple decided to force downgrade Siri. You can't have a nice conversation with Siri anymore, it is like that Bixby shit that Samsung put out on their phones.

It will get an upgrade this year…so they say

Any Pro deals?

Air is available at $750

Air is closer to base than Pro.
It doesn't even qualify as an Air, unlike the iPhone Air and MacBook Air which are lighter than the iPhone Pro and MacBook Pro, the iPad Air weighs more than the iPad Pro.

Base ipad has shaved off weight every year. Has got closer but the air has far superior processor, more ram and better screen. Pro does not add much more

This is USB C right?

Yes

Just in time for the start of the school year. Kid has a BYOD program and needed an iPad!
Paid $449 for a 64GB back in 2024, so $477 for the newer iPad A16 with 128GB is not too bad.
My 9th gen is starting to show signs of battery degeneration which is disappointing considering it’s only 2.5 years old.
Is it worth getting the battery replaced or just upgrade to this?
I don’t notice any performance issues, just that it’s not lasting as long with a charge anymore.
I think better wait for a new next gen iPad soon this year. I haven't upgraded my iPad 9 to the latest iPadOS version. Still good and very long life battery as I don't recharge it often. Mostly for reading the news and a lot of free magazines with free Library membership.

Same price on Amazon.
