1% payment surcharge if using a card or PayPal. Still cheaper, but not by huge amount.

    32” 6k version is 2.5 times more expensive 😳

  • Is this a better buy than the Samsung s9 5k?

    • Possibly. I actually don't really know about this screen, I feel like it gets mixed reviews for photos editing and the contrast is really off-putting. Otherwise for a work / office monitor it seems totally awesome

for office/productivity, how is this monitor? lots of documents, browser and application type work

using m1 non pro macbook if that makes a difference for 5k

    • Rtings rate theses pro art monitors really high for office work, with great text clarity.
Unless you want super contrast of OLED. The. Should be good.

    • I use this exact monitor with a macbook pro.
Honestly, whilst the image is a tad sharper, its not a huge difference. Sometimes I accidentally plug in with the wrong cable which downreses to 4k and I dont even notice.
If money is an issue just stick with a standard $200 montior unless you’re a designer or media production specialist etc

    • Like most 5K monitors, this one is overpriced. For this price, getting an edge lit backlight is disappointing.

Don't have high expectation, especially on the backlight. This is a photo from one of the owners. IPS with edge lit backlight, dark scenes, you need to know its limits. It's rated well for office use because when you edit documents, the background is mostly white.

      • If only there was a way to get it cheaper, like someone selling a brand-new one in box or something on the classifieds…

        • On OZB classified, I saw one for $999 the other day, but that's basically matching Scorptec.

27 inch 5K monitors are not that popular (so hardly any discount) and they are clearly trying to milk Mac users. The cheap implementation of local dimming on this to achieve HDR500 is disappointing. 27 inch means you definitely would be using OS based display scaling.
