Super handy to know it was more expensive on PS5, 8 months ago. Thanks 🙄

Great game. The sequel is coming this year too

Go add another secret ministry Scotty

Honestly, we got what we deserve because none of the corruption or incompetence is ever punished. Of course they will always push the limits if they aren't stopped or voted out.

Mate, this isn't OZPolitics, it's OZBargain.

    • I think you'd enjoy this game more

  • +1

Welp, I guess I am buying it for another platform

  • I was told by a friend that this is related to Alan Wake and is essential to play between 1 and 2.

Anyone played all 3 and can chime in?

    • +1

I've not personally played through all, but my understanding is they exist in the same universe.
I believe the play order would be Alan Wake 1, Control + DLC (included in this edition), Alan Wake 2, then later Control Resonant.

    • +2

Definitely not essential to enjoy AW2, but the character Alan Wake features in one of the DLCs for Control, and they're retconned to be in the same universe. Going forwards I think it will be more important. Control is great anyway, worth playing regardless

Control’s story and first dlc are relatively self contained but are in the same universe as Alan Wake. It’s the 2nd DLC AWE that directly interacts and sets up Alan Wake 2’s direction and story.

If you do decide to play in order if should be:

Alan Wake > Alan Wake American Nightmares (relevant to AW2) > Control > Alan Wake 2

Quantum break doesn’t exist in the same universe but there are references to it in the other games.

    • +1

It has nice tie ins, but its not essential by any means

  • how well does this run on the m4 mac mini? go with 1080p just to be sure?

    • Better off Googling/YouTubing that and being specific with your Mac Mini model.

Also available in the Control Ultimate Edition + Alan Wake Franchise Bundle for $8.44

Anyone ever get the feeling that this game isn't entirely fictional?

  • Such a great game

  • Cheers was able to get it for $4.50 because I owned disco Elysium for some reason

  • im wondering why is Mac in the title when its a pc game and the minimum system requirements are
    Minimum:
Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    OS *: Windows 7, 64-bit

    • +1

There's a seperate tab for Mac, although it's really just "requires an Apple Processor".

I'm just happy that game devs aren't locks Mac apps behind the Mac App Store, where Control is $60 AUD.

  • Does anyone know how to purchase just the DLC? I got the game through the Humble Bundle Choice and while it shows up as Control: Ultimate Edition on my Steam, it’s actually only the base game.

Whenever, I add the game to my cart Steam says I already own the game

    • +3

Give this a try mate and see if that works. Sometimes I find installing DLC can be a funky process from game to game.

      Check Steam Properties (Recommended)

Open Steam and go to your Library.

Find Control (Ultimate Edition) in your list of games.

Right-click the game and select Properties.

      Navigate to the DLC tab.

Make sure the checkboxes next to "The Foundation" and "AWE" are checked; this tells Steam to download them.

  • I understand that Epic legitimately funded Alan Wake 2 to a degree that it wouldn't have been made otherwise, but it is unfortunate that it's not also on Steam.

Hopefully it's not a permanent agreement, Remedy likely owns the IP itself. It was such a good game that only sold 2M units.

  • I could never get into this, been sitting on my library with maybe 3 hours played. Does it get any faster paced? Thought the start was pretty dull.

  • Thanks OP, bought another game that I will probably never get around to playing but at $4 bux.. who cares?
